Girl kidnapped from Santa
Ana park in 2004 found alive

Los Angeles Times, by Paloma Esquivel*

On a summer night a decade ago, a 15-year-old girl who had just arrived in Santa Ana from Mexico disappeared from a park near her mother´s apartment. Police launched a missing-persons investigation. But the case went cold — until this week, when she contacted authorities with a harrowing story of being abducted by her mother´s boyfriend, repeatedly assaulted for years and forced to move around Southern California to avoid being found. Police say Isidro Garcia, 42, drugged and kidnapped the girl, beat her when she tried to escape and later forced her to marry him. For years, authorities allege, he

No child should have to suffer this.

The monster in Cleveland abducted three young girls - one of whom was his own daughter´s school friend. It is the men who do this who should be castigated, not their victims.

I am not a violent man.

I would have no problem putting a .38 round into his gut and leaving him alive like that in the desert...somewhere inland from Palm Springs. Getting hot out there, and it would get him used to where he is going.

I see no connection between this story and our playgrounds.

This despicable mutt knew her mother and had abused her as well Nabbed this young girl when she was away from her mother.

nothing whatever excuses this.
However, note
The victim was an ILLEGAL ALIEN
one presumes that, likewise, the mother was also an ILLEGAL ALIEN
reports seen elsewhere indicate that, like them, the illegitimate worthless waste of oxygen that did all of this was an ILLEGAL ALIEN.
tell me again what good thing is accomplished by continuing to tolerate the infection of ILLEGAL ALIENS in our country?? Someone, please.
I note that this is, last I heard, OUR country. Not Mexico. Not even one of these three had any business whatsoever being inside the borders of the United States. Yet they invaded, worked for pay, lived here for more than 10 years, openly, without let or hindrance. Even managed a sham "marriage".
I regret the victim´s ordeal. Perhaps she should have stayed home. In Mexico.
and, not coincidentally, there are epidemics of forcible rape of actual American citizens in areas that harbor ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Hang the perp. Do it today. Do it in public. Let the body dangle for the crows.
and, btw, note the dates. Obumble was not in office in 2004. Guess who was?

In his days as a salesman pitching his healthcare law to the American public, President Barack Obama often said it would not cost much more than a monthly cell-phone bill. For many people, that has turned out to be true, according to new data released by the Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday. The report found people receiving subsidized health insurance plans are paying $82 a month, on average, for their premiums.(Snip)While Obamacare is clearly helping some people lower their premiums, what´s less clear from the report is the cost of these subsidies to the federal government. Federal authorities announced they had canceled their plan to fly nearly 300 Central American immigrants to Southern California from Texas, but left the door the open to the possibility that the plan could be reinstated. Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio told the Associated Press Sunday that he didn´t know why the flights had been canceled, and described the planning as being "in a very fluid state." Even as the flights were put on hold, workers at a federal training site in New Mexico erected a fence around its grounds over the weekend in preparation for the expected arrival of hundreds more illegal

Iran’s supreme leader yesterday accused the US of trying to retake control of Iraq by exploiting sectarian rivalries, as Sunni insurgents drove toward Baghdad from new strongholds along the Syrian border. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s condemnation of US action came three days after President Barack Obama offered to send 300 military advisers to help the Iraqi government. Mr Khamenei may want to block any US choice of a new prime minister after grumbling in Washington about Shia premier Nuri al-Maliki. Yesterday, militants overran a second frontier post on the Syrian border, extending two weeks of swift territorial gains as the Islamic State of

Sadr City -The parade stretched for several miles through the streets of Baghdad, bristling with bazookas, hi-tech assault rifles and artillery guns. As tens of thousands of uniformed men marched past, loudspeakers proclaimed how they would defend Iraq from the Sunni jihadists rampaging through the country’s north. This pageant of armed might, however, was not an official Iraqi army display to re-assure an anxious public. Instead, it was a show of force by the Mahdi Army, the vast Shia militia that is effectively a parallel military force in Iraq.

The Colorado Rockies weren´t the only ones shut out last night. According to Nielsen, only 52,000 people saw Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw no-hit the Rockies Wednesday night. It´s not that the Dodgers have lame fans. The numbers were low because the majority of the market doesn´t have access to SportsNet LA, the new team-owned channel that is distributed by Time Warner Cable and currently only available to those subscribers. Other distributors, including satellite broadcasters DirecTV and Dish Network and cable operators Cox and Charter have not signed deals to carry SportsNet LA. At issue is the price Time Warner Cable is charging for

In 2003, The New Republic caused a mild stir when it published a rant by Jonathan Chait titled "Mad About You: The case for Bush hatred." (The subheadline doesn´t appear on TNR´s website.) At the moment, Chait, now with New York magazine, is the voice of reason on the left--which means, of course, that the debate in which he´s involved is an exceedingly stupid one. Chait´s piece yesterday on the New York website is in part a response to a Wall Street Journal op-ed by Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney (she is his daughter) in which they accuse President Obama of having "betrayed our past and squandered our freedom."

On the scoreboard in right field, it was 10:08 p.m. in the City of the Angels. And a crowd of 46,069 had just sat in to see the best pitcher in baseball throw the first no-hitter of his career. Clayton Kershaw, who reminds us of Sandy Koufax with every flash of greatness, did it with a flurry. (Snip) Never in major league history had a pitcher given up neither a hit nor a walk while striking out 15. The only pitcher with more strikeouts in a no-hitter: Nolan Ryan, the all-time strikeout leader. Kershaw is so respected that his teammates lined up in front of the dugout to listen to his postgame television interview.

Baghdad - Al-Qaeda offshoot the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Sunday published a series of gruesome photos to one of the group’s Twitter accounts that purported to show the jihadists executing dozens of men in Iraq’s Salahuddin province, north of Baghdad. The graphic photos showed men in civilian clothes lying face down, shoulder to shoulder, with their hands bound in a ditch surrounded by yellow fields, as a row of masked fighters fired into the ditch. Blood pooled from one man’s head. It was impossible to verify the authenticity of the photos. By Sunday afternoon, Twitter appeared to have suspended the account.

Noted management expert and Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen was apparently called out of retirement — like the Ted Williams of evasive, unapologetic bureaucrats — to destroy what is left of his agency’s credibility. At immediate issue is two years of subpoenaed e-mails from former IRS official Lois Lerner to outside agencies, lost in a convenient computer crash. The possible involvement of other agencies is one focus of a congressional investigation into the heightened IRS scrutiny of conservative nonprofit groups before the 2012 election. In recent congressional testimony, Koskinen admitted that the e-mails

‘R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” the song goes. It is easy enough to spell, but for some vocal critics of President Barack Obama, it seems exceedingly hard to do. As the president moves toward the land of the lame ducks, his political enemies are calling for blood. That’s no shocker at this stage of a presidency. In this case, the cuts go deeper. For some, it is not enough to disagree. Some high-status public figures seem determined to demean, denigrate and ridicule the president of the United States. On June 12 the Speaker of the U.S. House stepped to a podium and insulted Obama for his handling of
