How Conservatives Can Defeat the Media
American Thinker, by J.R. Dunn

Original Article

One unavoidable truth that must be faced regarding the media and 2014 is this: the American media has the conservatives’ number. They know exactly where the blind spots are, which are the most sensitive points, and how to do the most damage. And they have absolutely no compunction about taking advantage of it. The relationship between conservatives and the media recalls the old skit by Monty Python concerning “the advantages of not being seen.” A plummy voice calls out, “Will Christine please stand up?” Christine rises from behind a bush, there’s an explosion, and down again she goes. “Will Todd stand

While this very important piece about the center of the bullseye - defeating the Democrats´ propaganda machine - focuses on the problem, I wonder if getting GOP talking points better in line is enough of a solution. Seems to me the battle should be taken directly to enemy headquarters, the MSM so-called "news" agencies. Exposing them for what they really are should be the Holy Grail of current politics. What Trey Gowdy did at that news conference, or what Sarah Palin recently posted on her Facebook page, where the malicious agenda behind the Democrat facade of "news" is exposed in perfect clarity - only on a much larger, national scale, so that more than just a handful of alternative-media types get to see it.

If Romney could have only thrown Candy Crowley and Obama´s collusion back in their faces in that debate and shown how corrupt it was, he would have won the election. I was yelling from my living room at Crowley and begging Romney to call her out. No more Mr. Nice Guy candidates. The Republicans need a fearless leader who can think on his or her feet and stand up to liberal garbage.

Whatever the reason for saying it, I loved Dunn´s imagery of Mitt shaking Obama like a pit bull with a rag doll, shaking him silly and chasing him from one end of the stage to the other.

That still hasn´t lost its flavor on the bedpost over night!

Agree with #3. Mitt should have inquired if he was facing a tag team in that competition.

But, he also failed to raise the Benghazi issue when it was still fresh. He was just another GOP candidate that was committed to playing defense--not offense.

That is why we lose. Duck and cover.

How to respond to the media:

Question: blah,blah, blah
Answer: Maybe, but didn´t you want to ask me about the democrats war on the poor and middle class, with their high gas prices, their intentional increases in electricity, and their constantly increasing costs for food and clothing?

IOW, answer their question with a one word answer, then launch on what they should have asked.

I have to agree with Mr. Dunn. The media salivates at the thought of a misspoken word by a conservative. It is what they live for. When Rush made that comment about Sandra Fluke, I winced and yelled at the radio. It was just a dumb thing to do. He had just loaded their guns for them.

Mr. Dunn is right. Memorize sound bites and short answers to controversial questions that you know are coming. We must be smart. We must be savvy. We must be wise. We have the message and it is the right one for the country. Reagan had it right. He was a master at communication. We need to be like him, happy warriors.

Concur with 8.

I had this very discussion with a life-long GOP operative within the past two months, though I was a bit more colorful in my word choices. But the fact remains this enemy can be defeated. Newspapers, magazines, and television all have pain points. One just has to not be squeamish about inflicting that pain. This requires brass anatomy and street smarts on the part of conservatives.

Conservatives have been unwilling to really use the Democrats´ own moral high ground against them. One example of this occurred during a Presidential debate in 2012. President Obama alluded to the so-called Republican "war on women" during one of his debates with Mitt Romney. Mitt missed the chance to point out that one of the President´s own financial supporters is Jay Z, a man who made his money by referring to women in disgusting, derogatory terms in his songs.

Another thing that is interesting is the inability of conservatives to split the liberal coalition of blacks + gays + women. Is it too much to point out that liberal women would be lining up to get abortions if a gene for homosexuality could be detected in fetuses? Conservatives have failed to make hypothetical but salient points like this.

Re the liberal media, you also need to understand that is has links to the porn industry. Some the most degrading depictions of women have occurred in the liberal media. The liberal media basically uses women´s bodies to win the porn vote for the Democrats.

For instance, if a respected national reporter asks a trap question, do some research and find out if that reporter´s spouse has DemoRAT ties or is working in some capacity for the Øbama Administration. Call him/her out on it. Out loud. In public. Every time. Go for the jugular.

The way to attack the press is the way the Progressives did it to Glenn Beck. You go after their advertisers and threaten them with product boycotts. Never negotiate in public, but behind closed doors the threat of a 25 million person boycott on a consumer goods producer could create a lot of nightmares for execs. Let the advertisers then put the heat on CBS for example to clean up their act. Money talks. By the time it hits the public, it´s a done deal. This would be a natural for the Tea Party, but they´re too busy spending add money with the networks!

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”

The education minister said the mother apparently had "serious psychiatric problems," and pledged support for teachers in the face of angry or violent parents. Police said the mother was taken into custody. Deadly attacks in a school are extremely rare in France, and the stabbing in front of a class of 5- and 6-year-olds raised concern at the highest levels. Yes, that George Zimmerman, the same “child killer” who shot black teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, in February 2012. In the way of background, Zimmerman had sued NBC for manipulating the substance of his famous call to a police dispatcher to make him sound like a racist. As thousands of disease-riddled criminals storm across our borders, is it really time to mince words? President Obama appears to have an Agenda for America that stinks worse than a Border Patrol bus depot crammed with urine-drenched illegals. Is the man trying to protect and defend us, or does he want us to kick the bucket, run down the curtain, and join the choir invisible? On January 29, 2014, the Department of Homeland Security advertised for a vendor to escort 65,000 “unaccompanied alien children,” indicating that they not only knew the alien invasion was coming, they planned it.
