Over the last 40 years intellectuals have warned against United States military plots to take over the world. (Snip) The 21st century may bring about a basic shift in the way we deal with reality. Recently a well informed person remarked that advances in quantum computing (and presumably terahertz technologies) will increasingly allow us to ask questions of nature directly through means other than chemical analysis or atom-smasher. This ability to ‘speak’ to matter was an attribute the Psalmist attributed to the divine. Of the Creator he wrote, “He counts the stars and calls them all by name.”

Comments:
Fascinating read! As prophesy tells us, information will increase in the final days, and, I would add, to a degree that even the last generation could never have imagined. But will human nature improve? No. At our core is mud. And the Holy Spirit. Which one wins?

Given that the ´Scientific Community´ has recently sold it´s soul to global warming in an embarrassing attempt to become the high priests of the socialist hierarchy....one tends to resist the notion of granting our ´Scientists´ any more power.

Great read, however.

#1, something to remember is that old saying, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." The AGW crowd seem to be the noisiest psuedo/erstwhile scientists in creation. I´m personally convinced that normal scientists of every stripe wince at some of their fellows devotion to the altar of Global Warming. These normal people overwhelm by sheer numbers the AGW people but sampling the media output one would never know it. Something like normal people never knowing what is happening in DC because they are never allowed to read about it in the Times or hear about it on the Six O´clock Evening News.

“I want you to drain them of their morale,” the robed man said. (Snip) Having proved to all that “nothing is worth dying for” it is all too easy to add “including anything Obama tells you to die for”. By converting the US Ship of State into a clown car Obama made himself a clown. And that is how Obama is being treated. He’s excluded from talks between Putin, Merkel and Hollande over the latest crisis in Ukraine though doubtless he’s being kept informed on the golf course. TALLAHASSEE — Since leaving the governor’s mansion in 2010, Democrat Charlie Crist has more than doubled his net worth, with much of the money coming from prestigious positions and consulting contracts he received from large political donors. Some were helping Crist build his net worth while knowing that the Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democrat likely would run again for governor. In 2010, Crist listed his net worth at $466,063, a number that has jumped to $1.2 million, according to financial disclosure forms he filed Tuesday when submitting his official paperwork to get on the ballot as a candidate for governor. Crist said it

A missing Valrico teen has been located in Louisiana, in critical condition with multiple stab wounds, and the registered sex offender from Georgia she was with is in custody this morning after a 40-mile high-speed chase with law enforcment. Ashley Lyon, 16, was found after someone at a Grosse Tete, La., truck stop recognized her and Steven Myers, 41, from national media coverage about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and called authorities, officials said. Myers was apprehended on westbound Interstate 10 in Lafayette about 1 a.m. today after the pursuit and taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for what

NBC’s Chuck Todd looks at the president’s polling and concludes it is disastrous for Obama, though not necessarily for for the Democratic Party. It is one of a series of messages disassociating the fortunes of the liberal enterprise from the collapsing presidency. The new point of departure is cooperating with Iran. (Snip) As noted in a previous post, while there may not be enough votes in a Democratic Senate to threaten the president with an impeachment conviction now — that can change in two months. For where there’s a storm in politics, there’s a Jonah. Everybody needs a Fall Guy.

In the third execution nationwide in less than 24 hours, a three-time Florida murderer was put to death by lethal injection Wednesday night. The execution of John Ruthell Henry was the state´s 13th since April 2013 and the 18th since Gov. Rick Scott took office in 2011. The trio of executions Tuesday and Wednesday were the first since the botched lethal injection of an Oklahoma killer in April. Henry, 63, was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m. after being injected with three drugs at the Florida State Prison in Starke. He was convicted in the 1985 stabbing deaths of Suzanne Henry

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- An environmental group wants federal wildlife managers to revise a decades-old recovery plan for grizzly bears to ensure the animal´s return to more areas of the West. The Center for Biological Diversity filed its petition Wednesday with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It identifies more than 171 square miles in a handful of western states as suitable habitat for the bears. Those areas include a forested region straddling the Arizona-New Mexico border, the Grand Canyon, the Sierra Nevada in California and parts of Utah and Colorado. The recovery plan for grizzlies dates back to 1993. The

A federal appeals court has rejected a bid to delay the execution of John Ruthell Henry, who is scheduled to be executed at 6 tonight at the Florida State Prison in Raiford. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in Atlanta issued an opinion late Tuesday, said capital cases clerk Jan Camp. Only the U.S. Supreme Court could now delay Henry´s execution, Camp added. Henry was sentenced to death for murdering his wife in Zephyrhills in 1985. Defense attorney Baya Harrison, who filed the appeal over the weekend, has argued that Henry, 63, is mentally disabled and should

CLEARWATER — Behind closed doors, there’s a small population illegally dwelling within the city. These residents are well-mannered, relatively clean and, aside from possibly causing a small drop in supermarket egg sales, wouldn’t be much of an economic burden if there were more of them. At least, that’s what a growing number of residents who want the city to legalize backyard chickens are saying. Spearheading the movement is lifelong resident Erin Bennett, 31. She has been trying to persuade the Clearwater City Council to take up the issue since January. Last month, the council decided not to discuss the matter.

Dick and Liz Cheney in a WSJ article point out that president Barack Obama is in the unique position of fighting himself. What is worse, his evil twin has launched a surprise attack on his other half. (Snip) President Obama is now paying the ultimate price for having no strategic goals; no global context. His sophisticated foreign policy world consisted of disconnected contexts in which contextualized deals could be made. He’d deal, deal and deal. Nuance. Smart diplomacy. In what some see as the first step to forcing the Washington Redskins football team to change their name, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday cancelled six federal trademarks of the team name because it´s “disparaging” to Native Americans. “Petitioners have shown by a preponderance of the evidence that a substantial composite of Native Americans found the term REDSKINS to be disparaging,” said the decision. Fans, however, won’t see any immediate change — even if Daniel Snyder’s team eventually loses in court. That’s because all the order will do is eliminate the trademark the team has on merchandise. The Redskins are expected to appeal.

According to Mediate, her interviews to promote her book on CNN and Fox had underwhelming numbers. In the case of Greta Van Susteren’s show, she sent people fleeing midway. More importantly, her book itself is a sales disappointment and, I would wager, even more disappointing if you could ascertain how many who did buy it read actually past page 15.
