Your electric bill will skyrocket
with new energy regulation

Associated Press, by Staff

NEW YORK — Electricity prices are probably on their way up across much of the US as coal-fired plants, the dominant source of cheap power, shut down in response to environmental regulations and economic forces. New and tighter pollution rules and tough competition from cleaner sources such as natural gas, wind and solar will lead to the closings of dozens of coal-burning plants across 20 states over the next three years. And many of those that stay open will need expensive retrofits. Because of these and other factors, the Energy Department predicts retail power prices will rise 4 percent on

There is nothing like loading a semi-automatic handgun to play Russian Roulette. That is what this America-hating president is doing to the nation that he is leading straight to hell. To hear the envirowackos, you would think American coal fired plants were like the open sewers that the Communist Chinese have that´s killing their people. The Won is using this anti-American stance to destroy the economy.

It isn´t an EMP that will destroy the American electrical grid; this Mandarin will do it with his pen.

Sooner or later, which probably means never, the Congress will realize that THEY are the lawmakers and NOT some government entity not given that real authority under our Constitution. Like 0bama´s phony and for some reason missing Czars, they were not elected nor tasked by the American people to create this and other havoc with our economy.

Rich people don’t worry about the cost of energy. Al Gore lit up the countryside at his mansion simply because his electricity bill was so small relative to his fortune it was inconsequential. He, and others like him, simply do not care that their electricity bill, assuming they ever see it, rises from $6500 a month to $8500 a month. It’s pocket change.

On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed and the door to the United States of America opened even wider. Nobler pens than mine have graced this event with prose, but I think it is worthwhile to reflect that however impossible the American Dream might seem to us today, it seemed a great deal less plausible to the Founding Fathers then. I defer to John Adams, who penned the following letter (shown here in part) to his wife, Abigail, describing the tumultuous events he helped orchestrate. Adams´s view that July 2 would be a day of celebration

Higher education is no longer just for kids in the top quarter or the top half of the class. College is for everyone," First lady Michelle Obama told a gathering of school counselors in Florida on Tuesday. "Every student in this country needs some higher education, whether that´s two-year degree, a four-year degree, or professional training of some sort." Mrs. Obama went to the annual meeting of the American School Counselor Association in Florida to thank counselors for taking on a demanding job without the resources necessary to meet the challenges. They, in turn, made her an honorary school counselor.

In fact, Facebook has been using algorithms to compile and show people posts since the earlier days of the news feed, which was introduced in 2006. Facebook says it is trying to show us the stuff that is most relevant and that without intervention we would be overwhelmed by the updates. Americans are in a period of amazingly negative thinking about the state of our country. A recent Gallup analysis drove home how deep and how threatening the current mood is. Gallup asked Americans in early June how much confidence they had in our nation´s institutions. The answer: not much. Only 30% had "a great deal" or "quite a lot of confidence" in the Supreme Court. Just 29% felt that way about the presidency. And an abysmal 7% had faith in the Congress. Think about what this means. This Quinnipiac poll, released today, is getting a lot of press. Understandably so: Quinnipiac polled 1,446 registered voters nationwide, and a plurality of 33% tagged Barack Obama as the worst president since World War II. Such historical ratings are always biased toward the recent past, of course; 28% said George W. Bush was the worst. In a head-to-head comparison with Bush, 40% say Obama is worse, while 39% think Obama is better than his immediate predecessor. In a re-run of the 2012 election, 45% now say the country would be better off if Mitt Romney were president, while 38% think

It’s not the date on which the United States actually won its freedom. It’s Independence Day, right? But independence from whom? Fourth of July is the date of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the document in which the United States of America declared itself independent from King George III and the Britain that he ruled. Prior to that, we were British colonies. The Declaration of Independence declares America’s

A federal consumer protection agency is spending more money per square foot to renovate its Washington D.C. headquarters than it cost to build the Trump World Tower or Las Vegas’s Bellagio Hotel — and the project’s budget continues to grow. That’s the House Financial Services Committee interpretation of a Federal Reserve’s Office of the Inspector General report that found that the cost to renovate the headquarters for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is now estimated to be $215.8 million. That is a significant increase from 2010´s initial cost estimate of $55 million and double last year’s upwardly revised estimate

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

The waves of rockets from Gaza and IDF retaliations have picked up since the teens were kidnapped and the Israeli crackdown began.
