Robert Petzel resigned last week as the top health official for the Department of Veterans Affairs, just one day after testifying before a Senate committee that he knew VA health clinics were using inappropriate scheduling practices as early as 2010. Whistleblowers claim the schemes continued until this year, leading to a recent wave of outrage that sent the VA and White House scrambling to correct the alleged problems and restore confidence in the department. Petzel admitted that he knew of the issue after Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) questioned him about the memo below, in which a top VA executive warned

When Civil Servants are given bonuses based upon how much money they save, what do we expect!

This is just the foreshadowing of what ObamaCare will bring all of us.

Boehner Issues Memo Explaining
His Feckless Plan to Sue Obama
National Review, by Andrew C. McCarthy    Original Article

I had a column on the home-page yesterday about a practical step congressional Republicans could take to combat the rampant presidential lawlessness I’ve documented in Faithless Execution—to wit, they can start impeaching subordinate executive branch officials who have been involved in either (or both) the IRS abuse of Americans over their political beliefs or the cover-up of that constitutional affront, which has involved misleading testimony, destruction of evidence, and obstruction of justice. I also weighed in this morning at PJMedia with a post about House Speaker John Boehner’s feckless plan to confront the president by filing a lawsuit that would

The video was posted to Facebook, a video of teens laughing as one of them goes up to an unarmed 58-year-old man sitting at the Aronimink trolley stop in Upper Darby and punches him square in the jaw. The punch is so hard you can hear it. "It was a violent, vicious, cowardly, punk act," said Upper Darby police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. "He´s lucky he didn´t kill him." Chitwood said the unprovoked violence was part of the "knockout game." "They were conspiring to go in and do the knockout game thing on this guy," he said. "It fits the profile: They plan it, they videotape it and they Facebook it. The whole thing,

With humor and words of admiration, philanthropist Lewis Katz was remembered Wednesday at his beloved Temple University for his loyalty, wide-ranging generosity and devotion to his family. During a more than 2 1/2-hour memorial service at Temple´s Peformance Arts Center, mourners laughed, applauded and wiped away tears at reminisces of Katz - funny, moving, sad. The message over and over again was to keep Katz´s memory and work alive.

Another commencement speaker has fallen to student protests. Robert J. Haverford President Daniel H. Weiss announced on Tuesday morning that Birgeneau has declined the college’s invitation to speak and receive an honorary degree. Birgeneau is known for his support of undocumented and minority students, but became controversial when students, as part of the

Adams joined the university in 1993. He was an atheist at the time. By the year 2000, he had converted to Christianity and become an outspoken political conservative. He eventually wrote columns for Townhall.com.

Nearly six months after the disastrous launch of Healthcare.gov, with the website running smoothly and more than five million people signed up as open enrollment heads to a close, a new glitch has come to light: Incorrect poverty-level guidelines are automatically telling what could be tens of thousands of eligible people they do not qualify for subsidized insurance. The error in the federal marketplace primarily affects households with incomes just above the poverty line in states like Pennsylvania that have not expanded Medicaid. The mistake raises the price of their insurance by thousands of dollars, making insurance so unaffordable many

Maybe we’ve been conned. There’s a growing recognition that Barack Obama is an incompetent poser, working out of his depth, and his administration is the gang that can’t shoot straight. There’s a lot of evidence to support that belief. Everything he touches becomes a bloody mess, like crushed bones and bits of flesh caught in the tracks of a tank slicing through a rank of soldiers (or civilians). Iraq, Syria, Egypt — all gone, as prospects for countries with a prosperous and democratic future. The “reset” with Russia, meant to ensure that America and the replacement republic of the old

Hillary Clinton continued to justify her high-dollar speaking fees on Friday, telling ABC News’ Ann Compton that all of the money she’s made from colleges over the past year and a half has been donated to her family’s foundation. “All of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life-changing and life-saving work. So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation,” Clinton said when asked about the criticism she and her husband have faced recently for their wealth. Hillary Clinton reportedly makes roughly $200,000 for each speaking engagement. And recent reports show

Two spirit is an Aboriginal term which means having both feminine and masculine spirits. It´s not limited to gender expression or sexuality, but encompasses them both while incorporating a spiritual element. It´s a standalone identity, not an Aboriginal term for gay lesbian. President Obama has, except on fleeting occasions, routinely disdained the customary Oval Office language of compromise and coalition-building for the low arts of sophistry and belittlement. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. His "so sue me" speech last week is a classic illustration of the community organizer practicing Saul Alinsky´s 13th rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize

Climate alarmism is "the biggest fraud in the field of science" and the 97% consensus claim is nonsensical, Apollo 7 astronaut Walter Cunningham tells MRCTV in a preview of his presentation at the upcoming Heartland Institute climate conference, July 7-9. "Since about 2000, I looked farther and farther into it," Col. Cunningham (USMC, Ret.) tells MRCTV in an exclusive interview. "I found that not one of the claims that the alarmists were making out there had any bearings, whatsoever. And, so, it was kind of a no-brainer to come to the conclusion." Carney is in talks for a contributor position. If it happens, Carney would follow in the natural footsteps of a few other aides to President Obama who were welcomed into the MSNBC family upon leaving their jobs. The last White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, became an MSNBC contributor in May, 2013, while David Axelrod, a top aide to Obama, became one in February 2013. And over the past six years, the country has witnessed her grow up into a tall, stylish and mature teen, giving her parents plenty of reasons to be proud. A charter plane believed to be carrying immigrants arrived this evening at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field, apparently from Texas. Three Homeland Security buses arrived a few minutes later, trailed by numerous law enforcement vehicles. There is no information as to the buses´ destination. Earlier this week, federal officials said that 140 immigrants who had been detained crossing the border in Texas would arrive Friday. But since the blockade by protesters Tuesday at Murrieta, officials have declined to provide information about the movement of the immigrants.

The United States added a stunning 288,000 jobs last month, sending the unemployment rate down to 6.1 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average shooting over 17,000 for the first time. June’s job numbers marked the fifth straight month of job gains over 200,000, the best stretch since the 1990s tech boom. A Bloomberg survey of economists expected an increase of 215,000 jobs in June. The unemployment rate dropped .2 percent to 6.1, the lowest since September 2008. May’s job report was also revised upward, showing 224,000 jobs added. The numbers follow strong reports for the Bay State last month, with

The headline of today’s jobs report, that 288,000 jobs were created in the last month, is positive. At least, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. However, as with most economic reports these days, there is a veneer of good news — but when you look closer, the White House is using the positive headlines to hide the growing deterioration of the American workforce. I’m sure by now people are tired of reading about the bad news, and I’ll admit I am weary of having to blow the whistle and expose the truth every
