News quiz: President Obama and his communications team hope that Americans are: 1) Dumb; 2) Distracted; 3) Numb to government inefficiency; 4) All of above. Answer: 4, all of the above. Those are the most obvious explanations for why the White House thought it could get away with claiming that the departure of Veterans Affairs official Dr. Robert Petzel was a step toward accountability for its scandalous treatment of war veterans.Fact is, the department announced in 2013 that Petzel would retire this year."Well, Secretary Shinseki accepted Dr. Petzel´s resignation this afternoon. He was due to retire early next month and obviously

As long as he has the secret service to protect him, and a lapdog senate, there is nothing the citizens of the US can do.

He thinks the entire electorate is moronic. How does he get to that conclusion? He considers the members of his base and his academic and community-organizing colleagues. Then he extrapolates.

Two points: 1) The VA is overwhelmed not just by returning Gulf and Afghanistan veterans but also by Vietnam era veterans (I am one) who never had to use the VA system because of employer insurance. A combination of the obama depression and obamaCare (a major cause of the extension of the depression) has driven a bunch of us into the VA system.
2) During my early years (20´s and 30´s) I was working 50+ hours per week and raising a family thus got most news and opinion from newspapers and the evening network news. I did not realize I was being lied to until a press conference given by General Schwarzkopf during the Gulf War, directly after the press conference the "talking heads" came on discussing what he said and they flat out lied about the content of his statements.

The administration lies because it can.

Whenever an Administration changes, the current Admin meets with the incoming Admin folks and they go through and visit each department and get very detailed briefings. These are called Transition Teams. And knowing the calibre of the Bush Admin, the incoming Obama Admin folks/transition teams got very thorough brefings of the good and bad for each department. So Obama and his team knew of the waiting time inaccuracies. And as so many have pointed out - it´s been over five years that Obama and Shinseki have been in charged. And the VA has not suffered for lack of Congresional support, i.e., money.

BO KNOWS that the media will bury the story, provide excuses, take any diversion and diffusion the administration says at face value no matter how absurd, eagerly blame others especially Bush, dismiss it as a political game, etc.

That means that many people who are foolish enough to trust the media might never hear the story and even if they do will never hear the truth nor any blame placed on BO.

Some people are stupid or so hopelessly liberal that they no longer think, only puppet the liberal line or what they hear from their equally delusional friends.

Others are simply far too gullible and trusting of an administration and media that have shown they are eager to provide anything but the truth.

President Obama and his communications team hope that Americans are:

Fidiots, period.

It´s harder to BS the public these days.

No it isn´t. Just because ten percent of you Obama worshippers in the press have started to pull our heads out (and you quickly reinsert them anytime a conservative tells the truth), doesn´t mean the public has. The public will be easily BS´d until long after they are in chains. And even then, they´ll believe anything.

It´s a policy travesty magnified by an insulting public relations strategy.

Which is why you lap dogs have helped His Royal Saviorness change the subject to racism with that ridiculous story about Sterling; as if you haven´t been covering up for Sterling´s racist comments for the past twenty years because he´s given millions to your beloved Democrat party. Valerie needed a subject changer and of course, racism ALWAYS works.

But the real point about abusing the VA is this; it will NEVER get better, only worse. Why? because the left and the right need to abuse vets so they can use us as political footballs. If they treated us the way they promised, they´d lose the ability to look into the cameras with those stern, concerned furrowed brows to get attention to get their poll numbers up, and that´s all. Nope. The VA, especially for us retirees will always get worse and the ONLY thing voters will do is yap their pathetic, "Thank you for your service," to make themselves feel better and get themselves off the hook. Stop thanking vets because you sure as hell don´t love your freedom. You don´t even know what it is anymore.
