Monument preserve in New Mexico may
set up next land rights battleground

Washington Times, by Dave Boyer

President Obama on Wednesday will declare a national monument in southern New Mexico, delivering a win for environmentalists but angering ranchers and local law enforcement, who say the land restrictions will end up creating a safe haven for drug cartels to operate within the U.S. Mr. Obama will declare about 500,000 acres as the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. About half of that land is expected to be set aside as wilderness, meaning it will be closed to vehicles and construction. Local ranchers say it’s a land grab that will interfere with their grazing rights, and border security advocates said the move

Barry protected the Mexican drug cartel through Fast & Furious, so why not provide them with a safe haven to transport their drugs? Criminal enterprise comes to mind.

The Organ Mountains are right outside my door, to the East. Nothing has ever stopped me from hiking in them until now. If I have to pay for the privilege and put up with paperwork, regulations, and federal officers, I´ll never go in to them again. I fail to see how having the federal government charge for hunting, hiking, camping, and horseback riding, all things we can do for free now, will improve anything.

IMHO, this piece deserved more than 2 comments in the 5 hours it´s been up. This is a frightening bit of news for several reasons.

First,it is a move which pleases "environmentalists," smugglers, Mexican cartels...and almost certainly George Soros, the UN, and those who favor Agenda 21 -- but displeases ranchers and local citizens.

Second, the following quote is chilling: "Only Congress can declare a national park...But under the 1906 Antiquities Act the president has the power to declare national monuments...." In a blatant election pander to the Latino community, Obama created the Cesar Chavez National Monument, the 398th, on Oct. 8, 2012. This Antiquities Act, which Obama will further exploit, along with his Executive Actions and complicit cabinet and federal agencies will cause us further grief.

Third, whatever happened to "States´ Rights"?

And finally, when the heck is Congress going to impeach this SOB?

If I may post on this subject again... I´ve lived here for 30 years and seen the population grow, many of them yuppie liberals who sold their California homes for big bucks and came out here to ruin our state. Most of the rest of the increase has been illegal aliens. We have needed a bypass around the city for at least the past 20 years, so that semi-trucks are not driving down Main Street, especially at the same time in the morning as commuters, school buses, etc. We can´t get it built because most of the land to the East of Las Cruces is "owned" by the BLM. The last thing we needed was MORE Federal land. We are already hemmed in on all sides by Border Patrol checkpoints on all highways within 100 miles of the border. I doubt very much the Feds give a damn about the environment. It´s all about CONTROL.

Hillary Clinton signed books earlier today at a Barnes & Noble in Manhattan. A number of people came out to get their copy of her newly released memoir signed. "There are roughly 380 people in line at Clinton’s first book signing in New York," CNN claimed. The crowd was "similar" in size to the crowds James Franco, Suzanne Collins, and Elizabeth Warren received. But fewer people showed up than when the Jonas Brothers came to the same Barnes & Noble. "A Barnes & Noble spokeswoman said the crowd’s size was not particularly unusual. The actor James Franco, Senator Elizabeth Warren

Hillary Clinton has a Benghazi problem, and she knows it. She knows that a majority of Americans, according to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, support the formation of a congressional select committee to investigate the attacks. In spite of Team Hillary’s strategy of casting anyone who is concerned about the deaths of three American servicemen and a U.S. ambassador as a harebrained conspiracy theorist, only 42 percent said they believed the attack has been investigated enough. That same survey showed that only 38 percent of adults approve of how Clinton handled that incident and its aftermath. Clinton’s Benghazi problem is

Hillary Clinton´s book is out Tuesday, and the media will not stop talking about it despite its lack of revelatory information. In fact, the very lack of news contained in the book is being used as evidence that Hard Choices must be a campaign book—a symbolic token every presidential candidate must offer to constituents in paperback. Another book about Hillary Clinton was also published this week, but this one comes from a super PAC making its case against another Clinton presidency. On Sunday, the conservative America Rising PAC released its own book on the former first lady, senator, and secretary of

WASHINGTON — Even after five years of captivity, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl could still face a lengthy investigation and trial on AWOL or desertion charges if the military concludes that he left his post without authorization before his capture by the Taliban. Abandoning a post in a war zone is rare. "When you go AWOL from the combat theater, that escalates it pretty dramatically," said Bill Gavin of the Center on Conscience and War, an advocacy group. AWOL charges in the United States are more common, and most are disposed of administratively, without convening a court-martial. "It is intolerable in a military unit for

Hillary Clinton’s memoir, Hard Choices, was apparently assembled “with an assist”–according to New York Times reviewer Michiko Kakutani–from what Clinton calls her “book team.” And if Kakutani’s review is any indication, Clinton’s team was burdened by its task. The book is understood to be Clinton’s campaign manifesto, and the book’s release–officially, tomorrow–is being treated as a campaign launch. Clinton has been dogged by one question in particular: What did she accomplish as secretary of state? She has even been unable to answer the question herself. And though I (like Clinton, presumably) haven’t read her book, early indications are that her book

Sinatra had just hired a private investigator to trail Ava Gardner, his great obsession and soon-to-be ex. Sinatra offered the same services to DiMaggio. Retailers are starting to push a new trend in menswear: the short suit. The ensemble looks like a regular suit from the waist up, with a sport coat over a button-down shirt and sometimes a tie or bowtie. Instead of trousers, however, the suit´s bottoms are cropped at the knee. J. Crew, Topman, Asos, and Barneys are among the retailers selling the short suit this season. They may be taking cues from fashion icon Pharrell Williams, who donned tuxedo shorts to the Academy Awards earlier this year. Since its first introduction into our lexicon, the definition of the word metrosexual has changed several times. At first it was used to describe young, urban males who were more interested in fashion, grooming and appearance than the traditional masculine male. Sexuality ran the gamut from officially gay, straight or bisexual. Then an article in Salon.com by Mark Simpson narrowed it down to the following: "He might be officially gay, straight or bisexual, but this is utterly immaterial because he has clearly taken himself as his own love object and pleasure as his sexual preference."
