WASHINGTON — The United States has brought first-of-its kind cyber-espionage charges against five Chinese military officials accused of hacking into U.S. companies to gain trade secrets.According to the indictment announced Monday, hackers targeted the U.S. nuclear power, metals and solar products industries and are accused of stealing trade secrets and economic espionage. The alleged victims are Alcoa World Alumina, Westinghouse Electric Co., Allegheny Technologies, U.S. Steel Corp., United Steelworkers Union, and SolarWorld, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. The charges have been described as unprecedented and dramatize a long-time Obama administration goal to prosecute state-sponsored cyber threats. “In sum, the

The hypocrisy is mind-blowing: our NSA has been spying on everyone for a very long time but our "justice" department gets its panties in a twist when it´s discovered others are doing the same sort of thing to us?

#1, if by "go after" you mean "welcome home, exonerate and hold in high regard" then we´re on the same page.

Those that get excited about this; remember most swords have two edges. When China and other countries begin charging US officials military and otherwise with similar charges, it will be interesting to see the level of support for having them sent overseas to face trial. I bet none!!!

All this does is antagonize China and others with no likely benefit from these actions. Cisco had major losses due to foreign firms and countries beginning to mistrust all software and hardware from US firms. So again we have leaders and (apparently some of the public) supporting this administration´s inane policies.

Blood-thirsty jihadists are carrying out summary executions on civilians, Iraqi soldiers and police officers - including 17 in one street alone - on their warpath to Baghdad, the UN said today. As a shocking picture of the ISIS insurgency continues to develop, the Islamist group are posting barbaric videos online with the intent of showing the world they will stop at nothing to achieve their end game. In one, which is too graphic to publish, fighters are seen knocking on the door of a Sunni police major in the dead of night. When he answers, they blindfold and cuff him.

The IRS has informed the House Ways and Means Committee that it has lost Lois Lerner email messages from January 2009–April 2011. Harkening back to the allegedly accidental erasure of 18 1/2 minutes of critical Oval Office recordings that contributed to Richard Nixon’s resignation from office, the IRS attributes the loss of Lerner email to a computer crash. Some email survives: the agency retains Lerner email to and from other IRS employees during this period. The IRS claims it cannot produce email written only to or from Lerner and outside agencies or groups, such as the White House, Treasury, Department

The stunning defeat of immigration reform proponent, Republican Congressman and House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor, in Tuesday’s Virginia primary, provided a major setback for establishment Republicans who were bound and determined to pass some form of legislation addressing the issue before the November mid- term elections. The common wisdom, therefore, was that amnesty, or anything paving the way to it this year, disappeared along with Cantor’s political career. As the first Congressional leader ever to lose his party’s primary, the premature obituaries for the Tea Party and any candidates who agreed with them showed Republicans who sympathized with Cantor’s goals

The Workforce Freedom Initiative (WFI), a project of the Chamber of Commerce, found that prominent labor unions such as the SEIU and AFL-CIO have spent millions on non-profit worker centers, which have helped organize strikes and protests at various businesses over the past year. PHILADELPHIA – Even as Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the nation´s official flag in 1777, another American banner was making history on Revolutionary War battlefields. The plain blue standard with 13 white, six-pointed stars traveled with George Washington to denote his presence as commander in chief of the Continental Army. This month, conservators finished preserving the fragile and faded silk banner -- but it won´t be seen publicly anytime soon. It´s one of thousands of objects waiting for a permanent home at the Museum of the American Revolution, which is expected to open in Philadelphia in late 2016.
