How Liberalism Violates All
10 Commandments

One of my readers, we’ll call him Moses, is the publisher of a mainstream newspaper in California. He wrote me the other day with an insightful observation. Since Moses works in one of the most liberal industries, in one of the most liberal states in the union, I won’t divulge his real name. We don’t want Moses tarred, feathered and banished to Oklahoma with a scarlet “C,” for Christian, emblazoned on his Harris Tweed sport coat. (Note: I have antipathy toward neither Oklahoma – I once lived there – nor Harris Tweed, though I do recommend against wearing Harris Tweed

The 10 commandments are the common foundation of judeo-christian practices. With the creator (and creator granted rights), we the people are no longer beholden to tyrants, czars, and other would-be dictators. With commandments on property and personal rights, we the people are freed to become immensely productive, assured that we can keep the products of our labors.

The western world prospered with the 10 commandments. It seems that as we have moved away to liberation from these rules of success, perhaps we are failing.

Simply put (and I´ve said this for years) liberalism seeks to legalize and thereby justify all manner of evil.

Some very good points in this.

But please beware of self-righteousness and hypocrisy when it comes to this kind of finger-pointing. We have yet to see a political ideology that doesn´t run afoul of Christ´s teachings in meaningful ways.

The article is a puff piece and an exercise in feeling morally superior. But a comfort to many, I suppose.

#7 - I prefer to think the ooney, liberal, leftover, dumb, donkey, drone party has a collective guilty conscience and is ashamed to face God.

The display of the Ten Commandments just reminds them of their shame - whether they admit it or not.

#6, if you have something to say, do so.
Provide your specific objections to the post.
Where is the moral superiority in admitting that we are all sinners? Do you find this offensive?
Puff piece? Sorry, God does not need to be puffed. He Is.
If you have specific moral objections to the Decalogue, let us see them.
Abundant evidence exists that violations of the Ten Commandments are a bad idea, and do not have good consequences.
If you object to a Higher Power (your Creator) giving you orders, you have a lot of company. But in the end He is the Judge.

Through war and peace, in sickness and in health, they have been man and wife for 75 years. So any little tip that Joseph Littlewood, 98, and wife Sally, 99, might care to impart about the secret of a long and happy partnership must surely be worth its weight in gold, pearls, rubies, silver and diamonds. And the advice is? ‘Argue,’ said Mrs Littlewood. ‘Argue lots but always remember to get over it.’ It may go against convention, but it seems to have worked for this couple. They have just celebrated 75 years of marriage – and 81 years as

WASHINGTON— Hillary Rodham Clinton said in an interview Monday that she feels emboldened to run for president because of Republican criticism of her handling of the deadly 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya. In an interview with ABC News, Clinton said the Benghazi inquiry from Republicans gives her a greater incentive to run for president because she considers the multiple investigations into the attacks "minor league ball" for a country of the United States´ stature. But she said she´s still undecided. "It´s more of a reason to run, because I do not believe our great country should be playing minor

WASHINGTON– Rep. Sam Johnson, a former prisoner of war, called President Obama’s deal to free U.S. soldier Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl “ill-advised, inappropriate and immature” in a letter he sent to his colleagues in Congress Monday. While U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif, and I don’t agree on much, we agree that President Obama broke the law when he released the five top terrorists in exchange for a detained American soldier,” he said. “Our mutual outrage over the President’s destructive and unilateral action proves that this is not a Democrat issue or a Republican issue. It is an American issue.” Taliban forces

During her big interview with Hillary Clinton Monday night, Diane Sawyer turned focus to Benghazi and grilled Clinton over the “systemic failure” of security on that fateful night. She asked Clinton whether she should have been more involved instead of delegating on security issues at the Benghazi compound. Clinton said there were serious security threats, but that’s true of compounds all around the world, and when Sawyer grilled her on how high a priority Benghazi would be, Clinton said it would place in the top 10, but not the top 5, security concerns to the State Department. Sawyer repeatedly pressed Clinton

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) filed legislation on Monday that would place a six month freeze on any federal government funding involved in the transfer of detainees from Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba. The White House is under considerable pressure and criticism from both sides of the aisle for releasing, without notifying Congress, five “high risk” Taliban leader detainees from Gitmo last week in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl was in captivity for five years. Taliban insurgents captured him after he left his post in Afghanistan. Facebook cofounder and poke button pioneer Chris Hughes, the husband of New York Democrat Sean Eldridge, owns between $100,000 and $250,000 of stock in China Petroleum and Chemical Corp., according to disclosure forms released last week. That company’s activity in Iran spurred Rep. Chris Gibson (R., N.Y.), Eldridge’s opponent, to call on him to divest from those holdings. WASHINGTON- The unemployment rate has been on a slow downward trajectory since the recession ended nearly five years ago. While the overall jobless level has dropped to non-recession levels, the number of the working-age people with jobs is barely over 6 in 10, hovering at a level reminiscent of the late 1970s. In May, the U.S. workforce-participation rate - the combination of those with jobs and unemployed workers actively seeking them - was just 62.8 percent, the same as the month before. Job markets have been essentially flat since October. Where have all the missing workers gone? A key factor,

The platoon was, an American military official would assert years later, “raggedy.”On their tiny, remote base, in a restive sector of eastern Afghanistan at an increasingly violent time of the war, they were known to wear bandannas and cutoff T-shirts. Their crude observation post was inadequately secured, a military review later found. Their first platoon leader, and then their first platoon sergeant, were replaced relatively early in the deployment because of problems. But the unit — Second Platoon, Blackfoot Company in the First Battalion, 501st Regiment — might well have remained indistinguishable from scores of other Army platoons

But he subsequently refused to endorse incumbent senators, or help them in their races, a fact that many Tea Party insurgents have seized upon. Since its first introduction into our lexicon, the definition of the word metrosexual has changed several times. At first it was used to describe young, urban males who were more interested in fashion, grooming and appearance than the traditional masculine male. Sexuality ran the gamut from officially gay, straight or bisexual. Then an article in Salon.com by Mark Simpson narrowed it down to the following: "He might be officially gay, straight or bisexual, but this is utterly immaterial because he has clearly taken himself as his own love object and pleasure as his sexual preference."
