Breaking: The "97 percent
climate consensus" canard

PowerLine, by Steven Hayward

TV watchers will recall the familiar advertising trope of yesteryear in which we were told “4 out of 5 dentists [or doctors] recommend” using fluoride toothpaste, aspirin for headaches, or some such. We were always left to wonder whether that fifth doctor was a moron or something, never pausing to consider that the fifth doctor might well recommend the same thing, but emphasize something else first (like flossing perhaps, or Tylenol instead of aspirin because of sensitive stomachs, etc). But Archie Bunker was coming back on the air in 30 seconds, so most of us didn’t follow up on these

Only 0.03% of climate scientists believe humans are the primary cause of climate change. That came out around a week ago.

The term being used at the moment is "climate disruption" which replaced "climate change" which replaced "Global Warming." There´s something wrong with any scientific theory for which belief or skepticism falls along political lines. The reason the libs are pushing this is distraction and funding. It a distraction from the total and complete failure of ØDumbø´s foreign and domestic policies. It´s a funding mechanism in which billions of tax payers dollars are given to Green Companies which then contribute a large portion to the DNC or put in Swiss bank accounts. Far more impressive than a number such as 97% would be how many of them believe in this who aren´t being paid to reach that conclusion.

The only research needed here is how many of those "climate scientists" just happen - by the merest coincidence, mind you - to lean left at the voting booth. I´m betting the answer is extremely close to 97%.

A rose by any other name is still a rose. Global warming, climate change, and climate disruption is still a lie perpetuated by greedy power hungry scientists and politicians. The condescending know it all attitude pushing this con must be forced to prove it. Let´s get all the provable data out there and let the chips fall where they may. This is just like evolution. They can´t prove it as scientific fact, but they certainly can demagogue it.

The climate warming gang tells us with absolute certainty what the temperature will be 100 years from now, yet they can’t tell us with any accuracy what the weather will be like next Wednesday. Personally I don’t believe either side of this argument. I don’t think climatology science has risen to the level to tell you with absolute accuracy how much human activity will effect the earth’s climate in 100 years. In the meantime, the side of the argument that has the most money to gain also has the most believers.

Decades ago when ion propulsion engines were proposed for insterstellar travel, their thrust was generally described in units of mf´s or milli-mf´s, with "mf" denoting "mouse fart." Pushed into a corner, a real scientist would admit that a mf does impact the earth´s atmosphere ... but only by an excruciatingly small amount.

The issue is not "does mankind´s activity affect climate?" Of course it does, but the real questions are "By how much?" and "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" and "What can we do to make a measurable difference?" and "Are those things worth doing?".

Tha Daily Caller article in the link at the end of Hayward´s article states: "The definition Cook used to get his consensus was weak, the climatologists said. Only 41 out of the 11,944 published climate studies examined by Cook explicitly stated that mankind caused most of the warming since 1950 — meaning the actual consensus is 0.3 percent."

And “´The problem we now have in the climate community is that some scientists are mixing up their scientific role with that of a climate activist,´” states Lennart Bengtsson, research fellow at the University of Reading.

It has always seemed to me that the climate alarmists magnify mankind´s contribution to climate change to an almost unbelievable degree, when in reality mankind exists on an earth and in a cosmos so much greater than our ability to change the weather that we´re almost wholly insignificant. What could we do to prevent solar flares, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, or significant weather events? We´re just along for the ride in the earth´s ecosystem, which dwarfs us and makes it impossible to do anything except what plants and animals have done since time immemorial: adapt.

The climate alarmists are not scientists; they´re political beings trying by nefarious means to compel political changes that will impoverish us and lead to "expert" control of every facet of our lives. It´s worth going to war with the Gorons. After all, they´re making war on modern industrial society, and they´re not going to change the climate one iota, even if they steamroll us completely, take away our cars, and move us all into state controlled apartment buildings. It´d be better just to RICO Gore and Co. into penury then, if necessary, put them where they want to put anyone who disagrees with them: prison.

Just as soon as Israel accepted an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire Hamas fired 47 rockets killing one Israeli citizen. Anyone who has followed the conflict could have predicted this with certainty; the point of a ceasefire — for a terrorist organization — is to break it for exactly the same reason it purposely attacks women and children. Dr. Anna Geifman tried to explain that the reason why innocents are selected as terror targets is because “children are the last consecrated absolute”. That is just why they must be killed in the cruelest way possible. For “militant nihilism strives to ruin first and

Charlie Haden, who died on Friday at age 76, was one of the most revered and influential acoustic jazz bassists of his generation, largely because he was incapable of being dull. Rooted in folk and country music, Haden combined earthy simplicity with an engaging storytelling style that inspired and propelled the music of dozens of artists, from saxophonist Ornette Coleman and pianist Keith Jarrett to drummer Ginger Baker and singer Norah Jones. His conversational approach to improvisation forged a new model for post-1960 jazz bassists, resulting in four Grammys.

The attackers were counter-encircled by US-led forces who established intelligence assets of their own to find and destroy the enemy. US conventional units provided the “top cover” for the intel guys who went out to look for the enemy. Now ISIS is playing the same number on

Why Israel will soon be the only state able to govern Judea and Samaria, and the only military force capable of securing its borders. A one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is upon us. It won’t arrive by Naftali Bennett’s proposal to annex the West Bank’s Area C, or through the efforts of BDS campaigners and Jewish Voice for Peace to alter the Jewish state. But it will happen, sooner rather than later, as the states on Israel’s borders disintegrate and other regional players annex whatever they can. As that happens, Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria is becoming inevitable.
