Sal Russo, co-founder of the Tea Party Express, is calling on conservatives to embrace immigration reform. Radical? More like a sudden burst of reason. What he´s supporting sounds strangely familiar and easily doable. He wants expanded visas to bring in workers at the top and bottom of the wage scale, which, he says, would allow border security to focus on the real bad guys. Close your eyes and it´s 2003 and former Rep. Jim Kolbe is calling for immigration reform for the sake of enhancing national security. Kolbe and others brave enough to speak up for reform were denounced by the far right.

Here´s MY sudden burst of reason.
Enforce immigration laws already on the books, I don´t care how many years it takes to deport ALL illegal aliens.
Send them all back, they have stolen our resources for far too long, and now it is time to stop them. I do not wish to educate their children, provide housing, food or anything else. I would rather see my tax dollars go to US citizens.
It CAN be done. Let´s try it.

Sal Russo is one person associated with a Tea Party group. (I know he is a leader, but I have disagreed with a lot he has done since the Tea Party Express inception.) He is entitled to his own opinion, but does not speak for the Tea Party as a whole.

Ok - step 1 - secure the border. THEN, grant a special green card status to illegals currently here BUT they NEVER gain the right of citizenship (i.e. TO VOTE). Propose that and see how quickly the Dems freak out. That would trap them. Illegals get ´amnesty´ but no right to vote...ever.

It might be a really good idea if all the multitudinous Tea Party groups got on the same page. Yes, I know what the acronym stands for: Taxed Enough Already. Fine. I can dig it. But when you have Tea Party groups diverging from what should be the primary goal, all you end up with is a dislocated mess. Why are there four Tea Party candidates primarying Lindsey Graham, each one unable to articulate why he or she is different from the other, or more Tea Party than the next candidate? Shouldn´t there be just one candidate--if they all agree on the goal? Why is there a Tea Party Nation, a Tea Party Express, a Tea Party Patriots, a Tea Party Leadership Fund, a Tea Party.org, a Tea Party Leadership Fund, a Tea Party Caucus, et al.

got passion? got a pulse? got conviction? got freedom? Only the Tea Party has these qualities. Pity they receive such criticism when they are the only group that is not corrupted by politics, has a zest for liberty and is not blase about losing out country.

These poseurs who claim to speak for the "Tea Party" are getting pretty annoying. Making up a name with "Tea Party" in it and then taking a Democrat stance is the game the liberals play in their "divide and conquer" strategy.

Enforce the existing laws! We don´t need a nation of leaf blowing invaders becoming citizens. We already have enough problem with the average IQ in this country going down.

Heard Larry Kudlow brings up this man´s name today on Jeff Kuhner´s show in Boston. Kudlow, the ultimate seeker of cheap high and low end labor thru amnesty (oh, right Kudlow thinks that the word "amnesty" should be used no longer), could not answer Jeff when he asked him to name exactly what jobs do Americans no longer want to take to feed their families and put a roof over their heads. Jeff Kuhner reminded Kudlow more than once that there are 23 million unemployed or underemployed Americans now in existence in the U.S.

Lets clear this up. A Tea Party group backs amnesty. Not the entire Tea Party MOVEMENT.
Not even a fraction of the movement.

That is the beauty of the Tea Party MOVEMENT. The Tea Party MOVEMENT votes on a persons merits, not party affiliation. Its what drives Republican Establishment lackeys nuts. People actually voting on principle, not because some quasi insider nominated figure head told them they had to.

I say let a candidate claiming to represent the Tea Party run on amnesty. When he loses miserably then maybe it will sink in that anyone can claim to be of the Tea Party, it in no way means the Tea Party MOVEMENT believes them or will vote for them.

Ah, linda Linda, you´ve done it again! This chap, Sal Russo, has an opinion (and opinions are like,,,) and you expand that into the wrong and totally misleading headline: "Tea Party backs amnesty: Can Joe Arpaio be far behind?" Now Linda darlin´, there are at least two problems with this.

First, one of my fair and balanced fellow LDotters, obviously unaware of your political bias, hops on your piece...and posts it.

Second, his fellow LDotter, moi, is motivated to do some research on you. Look at what I found:

Many people are wondering why Republicans are not doing more to stop the Illegal Alien influx, and more specifically not stop President Obama’s approach.
