Ohio court OKs order that

ELYRIA, Ohio - An Ohio appeals court has upheld a judge´s order that a deadbeat father can´t have more kids until he pays his back child support. The decision this week by the 9th District Court of Appeals didn´t provide an opinion about whether the judge´s order was appropriate. Instead the appeals court said it didn´t have enough information to decide the merits of the case without a copy of the pre-sentence report detailing Asim Taylor´s background. In January 2013, Lorain County Probate Judge James Walther said Taylor couldn´t have more children while he is on probation for five years.

Are welfare moms (who can´t even tell you who the father of half their 8 kids) is going to be given the same restrictions?

I don´t like the implications of that thought, the history of that attitude isn´t good. But, honestly, the behavior in some of these areas is something a mink breeder wouldn´t tolerate. And we are subsidizing it. You normally enact subsidies for things and behaviors you want to encourage. Do we want to encourage this?

Whatever happened to simply jailing him for violating court orders? He won´t impregnate anyone in there.

News that Quinnipiac poll finds president Obama is the “worst president since World War II” was greeted with amusement. (Snip) . But the real news is this: it’s not working any more. Even Obamacare might actually be repealed. Liberal foreign policy might really go down in flames. Already the authorities are warning of bombs on inbound airline flights. And Obama might actually be the worst president since World War 2. Things used to be under control; what happened? What happened wasn’t the Republican Party.

(Snip) Experts use the term "social allergens" to describe behaviors or habits that drive others nuts. Some of these actions begin to annoy us soon after we meet someone. Others get to us slowly and surely over time. Imagine a heehaw laugher. A knuckle cracker. A braggart who always tries to one-up you. A person who thinks loud belching is a compliment to the chef. As with a lot of allergies, it´s the repetition that gets to us.

The most interesting overnight news is that former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has been “held for questioning” by police investigating allegations that he tried to influence a judge investigating a illegal contributions to his campaign. When Gerald Ford remarked that “a government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have” he might have been commenting on the Supreme Court Hobby Lobby decision which ruled 5-4 as the Washington Post reports: “that the arts-and-crafts chain does not have to offer insurance for four types of birth control that conflict with company owners’ religious beliefs.” Walter Russell Mead gets what is at issue. Beyond the narrow facts of the decision, the case itself underlines the unpleasantly large scope that government regulation now covers. Government, to

The venue is what you would expect: a James Bond like setting with mysterious billionaires in attendance. CARACAS, VENEZUELA – Already grappling with street protests led by the right, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is facing a new threat from an unlikely place: old-school leftists who accuse him of betraying the socialist legacy that carried him to power. Maduro was tapped by Hugo Chavez as his preferred successor to the presidency, and is quick to invoke the late leader´s name, but orthodox socialists are grumbling over liberalized currency reforms they say are counter to the revolution. The tensions came to a head last week when Maduro fired Planning Minister Jorge Giordani, a Marxist economist whose Spartan lifestyle and

It’s a scene straight out of fiction. Refugees from North Africa, packed like sardines in small boats are streaming in droves across the Med to Italy. (Snip) Once inside Europe, these migrants replicate their homelands, sometimes right down to the quarrels that split their countries in the first place. The New York Times recently covered a case which has riveted France, the beating of a gypsy boy by “migrants” who wanted to teach him a lesson for stealing. The Roma boy was beaten to a literal pulp, dumped in a supermarket trolley and left as trash to be collected.

The McCarthy Wildlife Sanctuary boasts the “coolest collection of snakes around,” but Thursday morning one of those snakes, a 2-foot-long spectacled cobra, bit a sanctuary employee as she cleaned cages. The woman, who’s permitted to handle snakes, was bitten shortly after 5:30 a.m., reported Katie Johnson, spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. By 5:45 a.m., Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews were taking her to Palms West Hospital and by 8 a.m. an antivenin team from Miami had arrived to help treat her. By lunch time, the woman was in critical condition, Johnson said.

For two and a half decades, Peter Richard Conte has had one of the strangest, most wonderful jobs in all of retail. Twice a day, six days a week he has performed 45-minute concerts on one of the largest pipe organs in the world, an instrument improbably located in a downtown Philadelphia department store. The organ, built for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, was such an enormous—and enormously expensive—undertaking that it bankrupted the manufacturer. It was claimed that the instrument, with some 10,000 pipes, was "capable of producing 17,179,869,183 distinct tonal effects."

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. WASHINGTON – Republicans see the November midterm elections as an opportunity to take the nation on a different path and call for a new conservative message focusing on the problems of regular Americans. During the latest convention of conservative activist Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition in Washington, D.C., Republicans confidently proclaimed that the GOP has an opportunity to turn back the past six years of President Obama’s administration in the midterm elections. “There’s only one thing to be done in 2014…and that is to take back America by taking back the Senate,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said

President Obama’s displeasure with gridlock in Washington — and with the Republicans he blames for it — has been rising for months. This week it has boiled over. From the Rose Garden to the Cabinet Room to near the Key Bridge in Georgetown, the president has signaled more than mere annoyance at the state of affairs at the halfway point of this year. His disdain for congressional Republicans has steadily increased; his disrespect for their tactics has hardened into contempt. Higher education is no longer just for kids in the top quarter or the top half of the class. College is for everyone," First lady Michelle Obama told a gathering of school counselors in Florida on Tuesday. "Every student in this country needs some higher education, whether that´s two-year degree, a four-year degree, or professional training of some sort." Mrs. Obama went to the annual meeting of the American School Counselor Association in Florida to thank counselors for taking on a demanding job without the resources necessary to meet the challenges. They, in turn, made her an honorary school counselor.
