RESTON, VA – Today the Media Research Center (MRC) announced that it has filed a motion in US District Court for a preliminary injunction seeking to block enforcement of the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate, which forces people of faith to subsidize health insurance plans that include abortion inducing drugs, contraception, and sterilization. A hearing has been set for June 6. “This lawsuit is about religious freedom and the conscience rights of individuals to operate their enterprises free from government coercion, reprisal, or punishment,” MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell

New York Times publisher fires back,
calls claim that Jill Abramson

Arthur Sulzberger Jr., publisher of the New York Times, told staff that it was “simply not true” that now-fired Executive Editor Jill Abramson was paid less than her male predecessor, according to a staff memo obtained by Politico. A bombshell report on Wednesday revealed that Abramson had discussed the pay inequity with Sulzberger and that the gap was closed, but that Abramson had also asked a lawyer to inquire about past pay and pension disparities. Sulzberger’s denial that Abramson was paid less would discredit the earlier report. “It is simply not true that Jill’s compensation was significantly less than her

While some recent news reports have looked at how often Pope Francis speaks of the Devil, it should come as no surprise that the pontiff believes Satan is a literal being, a fallen angel, who, as the Pope has said, seeks to destroy mankind and that “maybe his greatest achievement” in today’s world “has been to make us believe that he does not exist.” “I believe that the Devil exists,” said the future Pope, then-Cardinal Jorge Bergolio, in his 2010 book, On Heaven and Earth, which was re-published in April 2013 with the subtitle, Pope Francis on Faith, Family, and

Four men, including a rabbi, were indicted on Tuesday on charges they stole millions of dollars from a taxpayer-funded preschool for disabled kids. Rabbi Samuel Hiller, Ira Kurman, Roy Hoffman and Daniel Laniado from the Island Child Development Center (ICDC) were busted for allegedly siphoning off $12.4 million of the institution’s $27 million state-funded budget between 2005 and 2012, using the money for themselves and for other business interests. “The public funds provided to [ICDC] were earmarked for special needs pre-schoolers with disabilities but instead were allegedly used by the defendants for their own purposes,” said Queens DA Richard A.

Karl Rove: Hillary Clinton

Karl Rove stunned a conference when he suggested Hillary Clinton might have brain damage. Onstage with Robert Gibbs and CBS correspondent and “Spies Against Armageddon” co-author Dan Raviv, Rove said Republicans should keep the Benghazi issue alive. He said if Clinton runs for president, voters must told what happened when she suffered a fall in December 2012. The official diagnosis was a blood clot. Rove told the conference near LA Thursday, “Thirty days in the hospital? And when she reappears, she’s wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury? We need to know what’s up with that.” Rove

At the surface, Antarctica is a motionless and frozen landscape. Yet hundreds of miles down the Earth is moving at a rapid rate, new research has shown. The study, led by Newcastle University and published this week in Earth and Planetary Science Letters, explains for the first time why the upward motion of the Earth´s crust in the Northern Antarctic Peninsula is currently taking place so quickly. Previous studies have shown Earth is ´rebounding´ due to the overlying ice sheet shrinking in response to climate change. This movement of the land was understood to be due to an instantaneous, elastic

“How Monica Lewinsky Changed the Media” is the headline the Daily Beast has put over the dispatch by its founder, Tina Brown. She laments the landscape left by the scandal that led to the impeachment of President Clinton. She writes that Ms. Lewinsky, writing in Vanity Fair, “brings back a torrent of unfond memories of the appalling cast of tabloid gargoyles who drove the scandal.” She includes the “treacherous thatched-roof-haired” Linda Tripp, the “cackling, fact-lacking hack Lucianne Goldberg,” the “mealy-mouthed Pharisee Kenneth Starr,” plus the “solitary, perfectly named Matt Drudge.” We have nothing but regard for

The decline of religious belief in the West and the growth of secularism has “opened the window” to black magic, Satanism and belief in the occult, the organisers of a conference on exorcism have said. The six-day meeting in Rome aims to train about 200 Roman Catholic priests from more than 30 countries in how to cast out evil from people who believe themselves to be in thrall to the Devil. The conference, “Exorcism and Prayers of Liberation”, has also attracted psychiatrists, sociologists, doctors and criminologists in what the Church called a “multi-disciplinary” approach to exorcisms. As previously reported by Breitbart News, the Harvard Exchange Cultural Studies Club wound up in the middle of a controversy Wednesday when an event announced for May 12 began to look like a serious attempt at denigrating the Catholic Church. As described in an ad, the Satanic Temple is putting on a performance of a so-called "black mass," a parody of the Catholic Mass, and it was being said that an actual Consecrated Host (which is, to Catholics, the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ under the appearance of bread) was going to be used in the exhibition.

A Satanic Black Mass reenactment is scheduled to take place at the Queen’s Head Pub in Memorial Hall at Harvard University on May 12, with the Mass performed by The Satanic Temple, which is being hosted for the event by the Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club. A non-consecrated communion host will be used in the reenactment, according to Lucien Greaves, spokesman for The Satanic Temple. “While Black Masses are supposed to utilize a consecrated host, ours is merely representative of a consecrated host,” Greaves told CNSNews.com. “It is not consecrated. We neither believe in nor invoke the supernatural.”

Israel’s aggressive and widespread espionage activity in the US is increasingly angering American government officials and has “crossed red lines,” Newsweek reported Tuesday, The report anonymously quotes senior intelligence officials and congressional staffers who have been privy to information on Israeli spying activities. Staffers called the extent of Israeli espionage “sobering” and “shocking,” far exceeding similar activities by any other close US allies. Some of the spying was allegedly industrial in nature, conducted by Israeli companies or individuals. But a significant amount appeared to be state-sanctioned reconnaissance

After successfully bringing more than 30% of the U.S. economy — the health care and financial services industries — under political control during his first term, President Obama made it clear last week that a priority of his second term is to go after the energy sector — another 10.5%. The purpose of the White House´s orchestrated release of the National Climate Assessment on May 7 was to set the stage to drive energy markets and fossil fuels under the heel of more government regulation. Most Americans would celebrate knowing that the U.S. is on the cusp of oil and

A U.S. congressman from Florida was caught last week digging his finger in his ear and then eating whatever it was he found. Representative Joe Garcia was at a May 7 House Judiciary Committee hearing on government surveillance, but it was his own reconnaissance mission that C-SPAN footage has now revealed. It was a live shot, in fact, and the Key West congressman had the poor timing to undertake his treasure hunt while sitting directly behind his colleague as she took the floor. Before the cameras have left him, the first term Democrat even looks at his fingers before putting

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has pledged to pursue the ouster of disgraced Clippers owner Donald Sterling, who was caught on tape last month making a series of racist remarks and then attacked Lakers legend Magic Johnson in a nationally televised interview this week. However, the timing of Sterling’s departure remains unclear, and Shelly Sterling, Donald Sterling’s wife, has vowed to “fight” to keep her ownership stake in the team. One way or another, the National Basketball Players Association has made it clear they want both Sterlings removed by the start of the 2014-15 season, and one of the players union’s

Bush did not address Johnson´s Great Society and War on Poverty programs, about which Ronald Reagan once famously quipped, "We had a war on poverty, and poverty won." Eric Shinseki’s troubles began with a "Patton" video. Now the secretary of Veterans Affairs is facing charges that veterans are needlessly dying on his watch as the head of the largest civilian agency in the federal government. Scandals have cascaded over Shinseki and the VA since the Washington Examiner revealed in August 2012 that $50,000 in taxpayer money was spent to produce a pair of video parodies that came to define the lavish spending at the two Veterans Affairs training conferences in Orlando. Those conferences cost taxpayers about $6.1 million, of which as much as $762,000 was squandered on useless baubles like tote

Russia is to deny the US future use of the International Space Station beyond 2020 and will also bar its rocket engines from launching US military satellites as it hits back at American sanctions imposed over Ukraine crisis. Russia’s deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin announced a series of punitive measures on Tuesday against the US in response to sanctions imposed after Russia annexed Crimea. The two countries have long cooperated closely on space exploration despite their clashes in foreign policy. The Space Station is manned by both American and Russian crew, but the only way to reach it is by using Russia’s Soyuz

Bill Clinton reveled in mocking Karl Rove for his suggestion that Hillary Clinton may have suffered brain damage from a fall in late 2012, while a Clinton spokesman said Rove’s remarks revealed that Republicans
