VA Spends Close to $500 Million on Conference
Room, Office Makeovers Under Obama

Washington Free Beacon, by Mary Lou Byrd

President Barack Obama has increased the Department of Veterans Affairs’ budget each year since he took office, claiming the funds would give veterans the health care they deserve. However, an analysis of records show the agency has spent close to $500 million solely on office furniture under the Obama administration. This upcoming fiscal year Obama requested a 3 percent increase for the Veterans Affairs budget. Obama’s FY 2015 budget request points out he has increased the VA discretionary budget by 35.2 percent since 2009 so veterans continue to access necessary services. “VA’s 2015 budget provides the necessary resources to allow us to

It isn´t just the VA. This racket has been going on for years, here is how it works:

Gov agencies can only purchase furniture from GSA "approved" vendors, so that chair that costs $20.00 at Office Max, costs $150.00 from the GSA vendor. Desks usually run $1200.00 and up.

Now, who do you think owns these approved vendors? Big-time campaign contributors and/or ex-Gov officials who steered created the approved vendor rules in return for a position with the same vendor after they left office.

Meanwhile, HR 32 languishes..that is a law to
help widows of military who died from service connected injury or illness. There is such a thing called "widow´s tax" that hurts us greatly.
It is a relatively small group, and Congress is hoping we all die off so that they don´t have to fix it.

Think about what $500 million would buy in your world. How about 500 million dollar homes ?

Speak now or forever hold your peace. If you don´t object, they think you approve.

Uber has announced an enormous new round of funding this afternoon. The company is taking on $1.2 billion in fresh capital, an investment that values it at $17 billion, not counting all the cash it has in the bank. The only startup to raise money at a higher valuation before going public was Facebook. Uber was launched four years ago in San Francisco. It now operates in 128 cities in 37 countries around the world. It has plans to expand beyond offering taxi and black car rides to several areas of transportation and logistics, from family carpools to delivering air

President Obama’s only Cabinet-level official from the U.S. territory of Guam steered federal contracts to friends, engaged in discrimination and sexual harassment, requested and received personal favors from subordinates and benefitted personally from taxpayer-funded trips, according to a watchdog report. The review by the Interior Department’s inspector general largely substantiated allegations from agency employees against Anthony Babauta, who resigned in January as assistant secretary for Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs. Investigators determined that the former official directed the awarding of two Office of Insular Affairs grants worth a combined $451,200 to the University of Guam against the advice of his

Still reeling from the Bergdahl-Taliban swap, Americans now watch, gobsmacked, as the White House doubles down on crazy. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers speaking publicly about witnessing him desert his unit has sent the White House spinning. Instead of gracefully pulling back from their lionizing of the retrieved soldier, the White House is instead calling his squad mates liars, impugning the motives and character of the men who served with Sgt. Bergdahl. If there is anyone who knows the facts and can be relied upon to tell the truth about what happened the night Sgt. Bergdahl “disappeared,” it’s his squad

It hasn’t been an easy week for Susan Rice, President Obama’s national security adviser. A day after the Obama administration completed the exchange of five Taliban operatives for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the only U.S. service member held in captivity during the Afghan war, she said that the soldier had served with “honor and distinction.” That, despite a body of evidence suggesting Bergdahl had walked off his military outpost in eastern Afghanistan on June 30, 2009, raising the prospect that he went absent without leave or deserted his position. Both are crimes in the military. CNN’s Jim Acosta pressed her on

Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson explains the ethical debate surrounding a multiyear study of these fragile infants, in the third part of her “Full Disclosure”series for The Daily Signal. SUPPORT, a study that deliberately manipulated oxygen levels assigned to extremely premature babies, was sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, a branch of the Department of Health and Human Services. The body responsible for monitoring ethics violations in such studies, the Office for Human Research Protections, is also a part of HHS. According to Attkisson’s report, this resulted in

President Barack Obama’s Rose Garden appearance Saturday afternoon with Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s parents was an attempt to humanize the prisoner swap to deflect potential criticism of letting five Taliban leaders out of Guantánamo Bay, White House aides say. It didn’t work. White House aides were aware Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had been tagged a deserter, and that they would be grilled over not keeping Congress in the loop. But they figured people would be most outraged over the national security implications. The White House has been surprised by how much attention has remained on the questions about Bergdahl, from the circumstances

One of the most striking elements of the Bowe Bergdahl affair is word that top Army officers were so anxious to keep the matter a secret that they directed Bergdahl´s fellow soldiers to sign a pledge of silence about his 2009 decision to walk away from duty in Afghanistan. "Many of Bergdahl´s fellow troops…signed nondisclosure agreements agreeing to never share any information about Bergdahl´s disappearance and the efforts to recapture him," wrote CNN´s Jake Tapper, who first reported the agreements last Sunday. Now, with Bergdahl back in U.S. hands, many of those former soldiers are ignoring the agreement they signed. They
