As Radical Islam Spreads In
Mideast, Threat To U.S. Grows

Investor´s Business Daily, by David Ignatius

The chamber of horrors of the Syrian civil war has spawned a terrorist group so extreme that it has been rejected even by al-Qaida — and this toxic group is now establishing a safe haven in the city of Raqqah in northern Syria that could soon be used to attack foreign targets. The hypermilitant terrorist group is known in the West as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS. Its efforts to establish a Muslim caliphate that spans the two countries, and to absorb another al-Qaida offshoot known as the al-Nusra Front, brought a rebuke a year ago

Ignatius isn´t one of the most conservative writers out there. The constant lies, misrepresentations and dereliction of duty by Obama is just terrifying. To think we have three more years of this is just about more than I can take. Because Obama has weakened our military so much I truly fear what lies ahead and how this nation will be protected. It´s only a matter of time before we are attacked again because Obama has emboldened our enemies like never before.

The CIA under orders from the Obama administration
was trying to infiltrate and subvert the jihad
from the inside out.

"If we own it, we can control it."

The ISIS was one of these wholly owned subsidiaries.
That´s why they were kicked out of al-Qaida.

That´s why PIAPS doesn´t want to talk about Benghazi.
It´s the administration´s
foreign policy Titanic hitting the ice.

Outcry on Hill Over Swap

As the years of Bowe Bergdahl’s captivity wore on, two fundamental sentiments floated around Capitol Hill: the desire to bring the Army sergeant home without capitulating to the Taliban, and the frustration that the capture of one soldier revealed a lack of cohesive strategy to recover prisoners of war. The only American POW in Afghanistan, Bergdahl wandered off his base in eastern Afghanistan in June 2009 and was captured by Taliban forces. A proof-of-life video, the first received in three years, surfaced in January, reigniting attention on Bergdahl’s case. “To every single person who worked so hard to make this recovery possible,

President Obama has been accused of violating U.S. laws by approving a prisoner exchange of five Guantanamo detainees for the release of America´s only prisoner of war, Republicans claim. John McCain welcomed the release of soldier Bowe Bergdahl, who was held for five years by Islamic Islamists, but said the men being freed had ´the blood of Americans on their hands´. The five Afghans are among the most senior members of the Taliban being held at the controversial camp, and include one who had direct ties to Osama bin Laden. As well as warning of the potential threat releasing these

Foreign Policy: Lack of substance is finally catching up to President Obama´s hype. The best his defenders can come up with is that he doesn´t get credit for his non-accomplishments in world affairs. Secretary of State John Kerry doesn´t think the president "takes enough credit for the successes that are on the table right now." Kerry argues that the situation in Ukraine, where a guerrilla war is widening and a newly aggressive Russia is poised to invade, is a U.S. success; so is Syria, where the U.S. was humiliated for saying one thing on chemical weapons, doing the opposite, then allowing Moscow

Despite Sen. Harry Reid’s near-daily speeches about the “un-American” Koch brothers and the vast amount of money they give to the Republican Party – all while the Democrats take billions from other interest groups – Americans are still not convinced that campaign donations are the number one problem in politics right now. That designation goes to media bias, according to 48% of the 1,000 likely voters polled for a Rasmussen Report. Big campaign contributions earned the #2 spot, with 44% of those polled. Among people who identify as Tea Party members, media bias is an even bigger problem – 77% say it’s

A day after the U.S. Marine jailed in Mexico fired his attorney amid growing ethical concerns, the State Department is facing questions over why it had included the lawyer on an official list of legal contacts for Americans in a jam. Marine veteran Andrew Tahmooressi apparently reached out to the lawyer, Alejandro Osuna, after seeing his name on an online list of attorneys posted by the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana. But according to Tahmooressi´s mother and those working with him, the lawyer soon afterward urged him to lie to Mexican officials about his circumstances -- which made the Marine uncomfortable

The 1 1/2-mile Belmont Stakes is the longest and most grueling of the three races but California Chrome has not put a foot wrong since arriving at Belmont Park. We´re not quite finished cleaning up damage from the Heartbleed bug, a flaw mistakenly included with Internet security software that allows hackers to penetrate secure systems, essentially by using software cudgels to beat them like pinatas until passwords fall out. Dark suspicions have been voiced that government intelligence services knew about Heartbleed soon after it appeared, but kept the knowledge to themselves, allowing the problem to fester on the Internet and expose servers to attack for years. The latest warning comes from a Portuguese security expert named Luis Grangeia, who found a way to hack into Droid

I may have figured out why the Department of Veterans Affairs had such difficulty finding time to treat patients. It’s because it was working overtime to give its chapels a religiously neutral makeover. But as VA officials in Iron Mountain, Mich., learned, one man’s renovation is another man’s desecration. Some folks in Iron Mountain became infuriated earlier this month when they discovered that statues of Jesus and Mary, along with a cross and altar, were hidden behind a curtain in the chapel of the VA hospital there. The chapel still has stained glass windows, though for how long is unclear. A VA hospital spokesman told me they are still

Scores of illegal immigrants, caught by authorities in Texas trying to sneak into the country via the Rio Grande Valley, are being flown, bused and then abandoned in places like Arizona, New York and Maryland. If the immigrants had been from Mexico, authorities would release them back across the border. But these would-be immigrants come from Central American countries, such as El Salvador and Guatemala, and trying to get them back to their country of origin has been a costly and largely unsuccessful endeavor. Black Beach Week used to get all the glory: Every Memorial Day weekend, 300,000 black people gathered in Miami Beach to get their freak on. And also create a tsunami of violence, robbery, shootings, carjackings, vandalism, mayhem, noise and trash. But this year, many party-goers complained that Black Beach Week -- only reporters call it “Urban Beach Week” -- just wasn’t as much fun any more: Too many cops, tactical vehicles, helicopters, lights, towers, cameras, suspicion. Not enough chaos. Not to worry: The rest of the country picked up the slack. Black mob violence over the holiday weekend was reported in more

In addition to Angelou playing Boswell to Angelou’s Johnson, Angelou acted, wrote poetry, danced, and sang. Was she an actress, poet, dancer, or singer? People liked her politics, and, out of ideological solidarity, reflexively praised her talents in multitudinous endeavors. At her most irresponsible, she embraced Fidel Castro, Malcolm X, and Bill Clinton—a mistake for a lady of any age. DENVER— Colorado´s Civil Rights Commission on Friday ordered a baker to make wedding cakes for same-sex couples, finding his religious objections to the practice did not trump the state´s anti-discrimination statutes. The unanimous ruling from the seven-member commission upheld an administrative law judge´s finding in December that Jack Phillips violated civil rights law when he refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple in 2012. The couple sued. "I can believe anything I want, but if I´m going to do business here, I´d ought to not discriminate against people," Commissioner Raju Jaram said. Phillips, a devout Christian who

Day 1,956 of his presidency was not too kind to President Obama. Having to announce within a four-hour span that he had lost both an embattled Cabinet secretary and his chief spokesman, Obama looked Friday like a man gamely trying to get a stalled administration back on track. He entered the week still stuck with low approval ratings and facing fierce criticism of his policies both at home and abroad. On Wednesday, he tried to chart a new course internationally with a West Point speech setting out a new foreign policy. On Thursday, he dealt with widespread criticism of the speech.
