Congressional sisterhood a

CNN, by Halimah Abdullah

Washington -- The women talked about it at the gym, caring for their children, over drinks and dinner and in the hallways of Congress. More than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls were gone, kidnapped from their beds by an armed terrorist group, Boko Haram, who vowed to sell them into forced child marriages — all because the young women had dared to seek an education. So, just a few days before Mother´s Day, every single woman lawmaker in Congress signed letters urging President Barack Obama to push the U.N. Security Council to add Boko Haram to the al Qaeda Sanctions List. It was a move

"I knew the 20 women of the Senate, standing united and speaking in unison, were in a position to send a very powerful message, one that not only condemns this crime but that also helps spur action to bring these girls back home safely to their families," Collins told CNN in a statement.

And they will not take "no" for an answer.

Well ... that should do it!

These scientific rockets, known now as the "Congressional Sisterhood" apparently never realized that Boko Haram has been around many years, that they persecute and kill Christians, and that they are a militant Islamic terrorist group.

It is a disgrace that they believe twitter is the answer to getting these girls back.

It takes a lot of strength and resilience to be a parent, but even more so when your child is suffering a life-threatening medical condition. To all the parents who, like the Baiers, have a sick child: Thank you for your unwavering courage, and for the wonderful example of love you set for all of us.

The Puerto Rico-born Labrador was part of the "Group of Eight" talks in the House last summer to craft a bipartisan immigration reform bill. But Labrador, one of the most conservative members of the House departed the group due to disagreements over how to pay for immigrants´ healthcare. King said Thursday that he would not support any candidate for a leadership slot that had any record of supporting "amnesty" for immigrants in the U.S. illegally. "In all of the leadership positions that are here, I will not vote in the affirmative for any candidate who has advocated for amnesty," King said. King and

My father gave me what too many girls nowadays ruin themselves for lacking: A strong, loving, steady masculine presence. It’s inconceivable what I would be like without him. So, before I explain why my dad’s story is bigger than us, let me brag on him a little. It’s Father’s Day weekend, after all. Dad’s presence in my life kept me safe from many things my girlfriends put themselves through in frantic search of a man’s love. And my dad’s love was tangible, more acted out than spoken. He didn’t just say he loved us. His life repeatedly proved it. I never

ARLINGTON, Va. — Book signing in aisle 30. Far from being excommunicated by Republicans after his loss to President Obama, 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is enjoying a brand resurgence of late, drawing several potential 2016 candidates to his "ideas summit" this weekend in Utah and even earning some 2016 speculation himself. Meanwhile, some other potential candidates are in Iowa for the state Republican Party´s convention there Saturday. And not to be left out, Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., was in California Friday to raise money for the Republican gubernatorial candidate there and participate in a Facebook chat. It all adds up to a busy weekend for the early 2016

People routinely say that being asked to speak in public is their No. 1 fear, inspiring more dread than flying. The idea of speaking to a group of people, even if they know the audience, scares them…well…speechless. And when it does come time to mount the stage, inexperienced speakers only make things worse by resorting to corny jokes and sappy, improbable anecdotes. Their agony makes everyone else in the room feel uncomfortable. The room reeks of flop sweat. There is also the flip side to public speaking: having to listen to it. ISIS, the brutal insurgent/terrorist group formerly known as al Qaeda in Iraq, has seized much of western and northern Iraq and even threatens towns not far from Baghdad. From where did ISIS spring? One of George W. Bush´s most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship. If this wasn´t so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil. Their claims that Saddam Hussein´s men were training members of al Qaeda how to
