Russia to ban US from using Space

Russia is to deny the US future use of the International Space Station beyond 2020 and will also bar its rocket engines from launching US military satellites as it hits back at American sanctions imposed over Ukraine crisis. Russia’s deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin announced a series of punitive measures on Tuesday against the US in response to sanctions imposed after Russia annexed Crimea. The two countries have long cooperated closely on space exploration despite their clashes in foreign policy. The Space Station is manned by both American and Russian crew, but the only way to reach it is by using Russia’s Soyuz

Another example of Carter´s genius. We fund the space station as a vehicle for maintaining the myth that we and Soviets are equals in space.

Obama completed the circle by turning NASA into an Islamic outreach program.

Now to pay us off for our good intentions, the neo-Soviets are telling us to get lost.

In fairness to Obama, the Space Shuttle cancellation decision was in 2004. That assured a period of American dependence on the Russians for access to space. Obama made it worse, however, by canceling the follow-on Constellation Program, and under his watch, America´s human space flight program is foundering, without a clear goal to pursue.

A little mind-reading is needed here.

1) Does this indicate Russian confidence and toughness? Or,

2) Does it mean our sanctions are hurting them so they are trying hitting back?

Either way, if we want to work in space or launch satellites we better not depend on others.

The future loss (2020) of American access to the ISS using the very expensive Russian "taxi" is cringeworthy enough, but how about this:

"...and [Russia] will also bar its rocket engines from launching US military satellites." This, my fellow Americans, is criminal -- that we should have come to this.

Regarding the rocket engine flap, Space News reports the real story: Federal Claims Court barred us from buying the RD-180 back in April as part of our new sanctions against Russia. Of course, there´s also a SpaceX angle to it all. But sill stunning is the fact that we are now buying rocket engines from Russia to put our satellites into orbit. Who knew?

And to get there we pay the Russians $16 million per trip to take someone up because NASA is busy with muslim outreach and climate change. Two more boondoggles that will cost us a fortune.

I got a better idea, get rid of NASA and the space station close the borders to illegals and fund the military.

Washington - The White House is defying a congressional subpoena by keeping a top political aide to President Barack Obama from testifying at a hearing Wednesday. The White House is arguing that Obama adviser David Simas is immune from subpoena by the House Oversight Committee in its investigation into the political office that he directs. White House counsel Neil Eggleston says in a letter to Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa that the Simas subpoena threatens the constitutional separation of powers. White House lawyers spent an hour and 15 minutes Tuesday briefing the committee´s staff behind closed doors on the political office´s

Plenty of materials for a potential dirty bomb are likely scattered throughout the area of Iraq controlled by ISIS, and pulling off an attack that spreads even a minor amount of radiation could be a huge PR coup for the terror group, experts told FoxNews.com. Last week, the Iraqi government in Baghdad warned the UN that ISIS operatives had stolen 88 pounds of uranium compounds from Mosul University. Even though many experts said the research materials were not enough to cause widespread harm, spreading fear is even more important to terrorists than a big body count, one terrorism expert said.
