GOP resistance on global warming
makes Gore hot under collar

Chicago Sun Times, by Mitch Dudek

Original Article

Posted By:garnet, 5/13/2014 8:58:09 AM

Former Vice President Al Gore preached global warming at the University of Chicago Monday. Gore, who said 99.99 percent of climate scientists acknowledge the planet’s climate is changing, compared the situation to a heart problem. “If, God forbid, you had chest pains and somehow were magically able to consult with the 10,000 leading heart specialists in the world and 9,999 of them said ‘Oh my God, you’ve got to take this medicine, change your diet, get some exercise ... but out of the 10,000, you find one that said ‘Well, I don’t know yet. The jury is still out.’

Comments:
I think Gore´s opinion comes under the category of "Who the h-- cares?"

Remember Al telling us after Katrina that that was just the beginning and that we should expect 5 to 10 hurricanes of at least that intensity every year? Not only has that not happened, but we have had very few hurricanes at all since Katrina. I don´t hold Al´s opinions in very high regard.

The thought crossed my mind that there are no constitutional bars keeping Big Al, the greenies pal, from running for president in ´16. With Hillary drowning in past and present scandal and no one else on the horizon other than Biden the Buffoon, who knows?

Gore said that on Sept. 21, 2007, "scientists reported with unprecedented alarm that the North Polar icecap is, in their words, ´falling off a cliff.´ One study estimated that it could be completely gone during summer in less than 22 years. Another new study to be presented by U.S. Navy researchers later this week warns that it could happen in as little as seven years, seven years from now."

If I could find reliable, affordable, efficient, low maintenance solar panels that would eliminate my utility bills, I would jump on that in a heartbeat. And if I could be able to survive and stay healthy be just eating my grass clippings and drinking unicorn milk I’d be on that, too. Unfortunately, we’re stuck in the real world where most Americans could not survive without emitting CO2 to stay warm enough to endure nature.

The Mann Made Global Warmers (not my phrase – wish it was) are preaching to the ignorant, most of which live in the major cities and cannot comprehend what powers their lifestyles. I would love to see a nationwide halt of all carbon emissions for a three day period throughout the entire country. Everything that runs on oil, coal, wood, or natural gas just shut completely down. One exception allowed would be back-up generators for hospitals.

That would be the rude awakening that our society needs in order to understand the tradeoffs that are involved in their dream world. Even their I-Phones wouldn’t work because of the towers shutting down – they might have to talk to each other face to face, imagine the horrors!

For most of 2014, the Democrats looked on the looming congressional elections with considerable dread. All of the standard indicators portend an unhappy outcome for their party.(snip) Then came last week’s Hobby Lobby ruling. In that imminently sensible Supreme Court decision, the Democrats found an unhoped-for opportunity for shameless demagoguery. Indulging their gift for Orwellian rhetoric, they declared that the Court had re-opened hostilities in the fabled “war on women.” (snip) Millions of American women, they thundered, will now be denied access to birth control because five male justices sided with the closet theocrats who own Hobby Lobby.

Now that the Supreme Court has issued its ruling in the Hobby Lobby case, the legal fight over the Affordable Care Act will shift a few blocks away to another Washington courtroom, where a far more fundamental challenge to Obamacare is about to be decided by the powerful U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. The Halbig case challenges the massive federal subsidies in the form of tax credits made available to people with financial need who enroll in the program. This morning’s Supreme Court ruling in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby will doubtless precipitate a flood of stories from the establishment “news” media claiming that an entrenched cadre of conservative justices have dealt a grievous blow to the reproductive freedom of women and somehow endowed corporations with religious rights. These reports should be ignored as so much hysterical nonsense. What the Court actually said was that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) requires the government to provide closely held corporate objectors to Obamacare’s contraception mandate the same accommodation it already provides nonprofit organizations.
