Arresting Lois Lerner
New York Post, by Seth Lipsky

Use it or lose it. That’s the message for House Speaker John Boehner. If he thinks Congress has the power to arrest Lois Lerner for contempt, now is the time. If he shrinks from sending the sergeant at arms to bring Lerner to the Capitol jail after the full House held her in contempt, he’s weakening his own institution. And if this case is not worth a fight, what is? The ex-official of the Internal Revenue Service has been ordered to continue testifying in the House’s investigation into whether President Obama’s tax collectors tried to throw the 2012 election by targeting

Lois needs to be dragged by her ankles through the streets of DC, tarred and feathered, then stripped of her pension.

Boehner has been weakening the institution for years, following along the pattern set by Nancy Pelosi before him. It used to be a counterweight to the Executive Branch. Now it´s just a punching bag.

Boehner hates the Tea Party. He feels that he should not use any of his political capital on getting to the bottom of the IRS mess. Lois will not see a day in jail. This is the very reason that this man 1) should not have won the primary and 2) remain speaker.

I agree he should use this power on Lois Lerner.

Remembering when Nancy Pelosi was Speaker, she was ruthless. She didn´t even meet with her party when formulating Obamacare, or other major bills. I can see a time in the future, if Dems win back the House, their Speaker arresting people of another party in large numbers. Let´s face it, our country is out of control, especially when it comes to pay back politics.

Alleged deserter Bowe Bergdahl may receive compensation by the U.S. military for being held in captivity by the Taliban for five years, depending on how his status is classified. If Bergdahl is deemed to have been a “POW” and receives military backpay for his time of service, he could claim more than $300,000 from U.S. taxpayers. Military.com breaks down the possible compensation scenarios: Service members designated by the Defense Department as “captive, missing or missing in action” are entitled to receive back pay and allowances, officials said. Any additional pay and allowances earned such as promotions or special entitlements are not

Monica Wehby, the Republican Senate candidate in Oregon, has fallen prey to a common delusion: that Obamacare can be "fixed." On her campaign website, Wehby, a surgeon, runs through a list of changes she wants made to the president´s health-care overhaul. She would, among other things, get rid of the individual mandate to buy health insurance, offer more catastrophic insurance options on the exchanges and make it easier for people to buy insurance across state lines. But she also wants to keep several Affordable Care Act provisions, including the one that bans insurers from discriminating against people with pre-existing health conditions. You can

The Obama White House genuinely believed the release of the American soldier who disappeared in 2009 in Afghanistan would provide a triumphant moment for the president and a moment for national unity. Otherwise, there would have been no Rose Garden celebration featuring the president and Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s parents. Some in the White House surely saw the Rose Garden bit as a chance to play rope-a-dope with their political adversaries after weeks of getting beaten up over the Veterans Administration scandal. Hi, everybody. This is commencement season, a time for graduates and their families to celebrate one of the greatest achievements of a young person’s life. But for many graduates, it also means feeling trapped by a whole lot of student loan debt. And we’ve got to do more to lift that burden. See, in a 21st century economy, the surest pathway into the middle class is some form of higher education. The unemployment rate for workers with a bachelor’s degree is just 3.3 percent — about half what it is for high school graduates. The typical graduate of a four-year college earns $15,000 more per year than someone with just a high school degree.
