Tea Party Alive And Well –
And Influencing Blacks

Town Hall, by Star Parker

What’s all the crowing about regarding North Carolina House Speaker Thom Tillis’ victory in the North Carolina Republican Senate primary this week? I’m talking about the crowing that this is some kind of defeat for the Tea Party. Sure, Greg Brannon was the Tea Party candidate and endorsed by Rand Paul. And, yes, the Republican establishment big names – including, of course, Mr. Establishment, Karl Rove - came out and backed Tillis with endorsements and lots of money. But let’s not get carried away, folks. Tillis is an experienced politician with solid limited government, pro-family, pro-life credentials. And Rand Paul immediately threw

Mik:

I personally think that the more the Dems and Chamber types preach amnesty, the greater black interest will become in the Tea Party to find common ground against amnesty advocates in Dem seats. Help an anti-amnesty, pro life, pro school choice Democrat. Like Ronald Reagan said, we´ll go back for the rest later.

Jenny Beth Martin, chair of the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, is calling on Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Reince Priebus to intervene in the Mississippi Senate race over incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran´s reliance on Democratic voters to prevail in the GOP runoff and amid emerging claims of illegitimate ballots. "No one disputes that Thad Cochran´s vote total Tuesday was the result of crossover votes cast by Democrats -- in fact, Establishment Republicans and their operatives are bragging publicly about their ´brilliant´ strategy,” Martin said in a statement provided exclusively to Breitbart News.

My alma mater, Bowdoin College, made the front page of The New York Times earlier this month, but not in a good way. Nonetheless, institutional arrogance and disregard for human rights are always important topics to explore. On June 9, under the headline “Colleges and Evangelicals Collide on Bias Policy,” the Times reported, “For 40 years, evangelicals at Bowdoin College have gathered periodically to study the Bible together, to pray and to worship. They are a tiny minority on the liberal arts college campus, but they have been a part of the school’s community, gathering in the chapel, the dining center, the

So what’s with John Boehner’s newfound love of litigation? The speaker announced yesterday that he will ask the House to initiate a lawsuit against the president over his refusal to enforce the laws Congress has passed. That’s something the Wall Street Journal and George Will have both suggested, and it’s not a crazy idea. First, the House likely has standing to bring an action. In 1990 a federal court held that a group of congressmen could not bring an action over George H.W. Bush’s failure to comply with the 1974 War Powers Resolution, but left open whether the House as

Gallup: Americans Would Like To See

A new Gallup poll finds that 41 percent of Americans want immigration levels to decrease than increase; just 22 percent want levels to increase. That’s nearly a two-to-one margin. If you go by party identification, 50 percent of Republicans, 43 percent of independents, and 32 percent of Democrats wish to see the flow of immigrants reduced. As our economic torpor continues under the Obama administration, the sentiments towards the issue of immigration will remain heated. Lydia Saad of Gallup wrote, “Deciding how many new immigrants to welcome each year can be controversial, particularly when unemployment is high, and seeming competition for good jobs

What transpired in the Mississippi Senate run-off is a red line for many conservatives across the country, because the Republican Party establishment essentially took a civil war and escalated it to a war for independence. It’s one thing to oppose your base in a primary. It’s entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left. But that’s exactly what the Kamikaze pilots running the GOP did. As a result, Chris McDaniel won Republican voters handily on Tuesday, but still lost the run-off statewide thanks

With the news of a massive influx of immigrants on the southern border, a new Gallup Poll shows that only 22% of Americans favor increased immigration. Only 14% of Republicans, 23% of independents, and 27% of Democrats favor increased immigration. The poll actually revealed a strong desire among Americans to decrease immigration, as 41% of respondents thought immigration should be decreased. This included 50% of GOP voters, 43% of independents, and 32% of Democrats. The percentage of those preferring to decrease immigration has jumped from 35% in 2012 and 2013 to 41% in 2014. A Mississippi radio station aired an ad warning voters that the Tea Party would “take away” food stamps and other welfare benefits before the run-off between incumbent Sen. Calling the run-off the most important election since the re-election of President Barack Obama, the WMGO radio station ordered listeners in Madison County to vote for Cochran the day of the run off. Secretly seething from being demoted from House Speaker to House Minority Leader ever since January 3, 2011, Nancy Pelosi has been on the prowl for attention-grabbing ways to preen her peacock wings to the world. So today Pelosi is taking the opportunity of swooping back into the limelight by traveling to the southern border of the U.S. to be briefed by Customs and Border Protection on the flood of unaccompanied minors entering the country. “The California Democrat will also meet with a group of children held at the South Texas Detention Facility.” (Politico, June 26, 2014) Here’s a taste of the overblown rhetoric

Liberal bias in the media is so pervasive that partisan propaganda themes created by Democrats, for the purpose of electing Democrats and advancing their partisan agenda, take on a quasi-reality. Years ago, after seeing the umpteenth reiteration of a too-familiar theme, I remarked that the New York Times should create a standing headline -- "Republicans Divided" -- and run it as a regular column. If more than 80 percent of journalists are Democrats, as evidence clearly demonstrates, then what the media report about politics (and everything else) must be viewed skeptically: Is this true? Are all the facts as described?

Currently traveling in Minnesota, Barack Obama appears to be bristling at the notion that House Republicans are set to challenge him in the courts. PBS characterizes his demeanor as "mocking." Perhaps. But observers of he Obama White House might note that he often becomes petulant, if not downright immature whenever he feels his presumed authority is being challenged by another branch of America´s Constitutional form of government. “They’re not doing anything, and then they’re mad at me for doing something,” Mr. Obama said of Republican lawmakers, adding, “They’ve decided they’re going to sue me for doing my job.” This came

Facebook’s News Feed—the main list of status updates, messages, and photos you see when you open Facebook on your computer or phone—is not a perfect mirror of the world. But few users expect that Facebook would change their News Feed in order to manipulate their emotional state. We now know that’s exactly what happened two years ago. For one week in January 2012, data scientists skewed what almost 700,000 Facebook users saw when they logged into its service. Some people were shown content with a preponderance of happy and positive words; some were shown content analyzed as sadder than average.

Edward Klein’s book about the animosity between the Clintons and Obamas, “Blood Feud” (Regnery Publishing), rocketed up the best-seller charts since it was featured in The Post last Sunday. Here, in another exclusive excerpt, Klein describes how Bill’s health is a preoccupation of the Clintons. A pair of black, armor-plated SUVs swung into a suburban cul-de-sac and crunched to a stop in the driveway of the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York. A wall of burly Secret Service agents jumped out and surrounded the man who emerged from the lead vehicle. It was mid-summer 2013, and Bill Clinton looked shrunken and weary.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) vowed to crush the Tea Party, and with help from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in Kentucky, he did, and nationally, he will. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has sent the Tea Party to the back benches, and after the recent defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), is his successor any different than him? No. Did anything change? No. The Tea Party is not being done in by Democrats; it is being done in by the party of big business, crony capitalism, big money from insider Wall Street and big banks, the Chamber of Commerce and the corporate lobbying wing of the Tea Party's real nemesis:

Dear Secretary Clinton, Please consider this in the nature of a friendly intervention. You have a money problem. It’s time to deal with it before it gets worse. Actually, you have two money problems. The first is how you talk about it. The second is how you collect it — or, to be more precise, the fact that you’re still frenetically collecting it. Let me be clear at the outset: The issue isn’t that you’re rich, or even that you and your husband became rich after leaving office. During his two-day tour here, the president has let out his frustrations on the fourth estate for failing, in his view, to cover serious issues facing the American people and instead focusing on the frivolous. “If you watch the news, you’d think, ‘Okay, Washington is a mess and the basic attitude is that everybody’s crazy,” Obama told a crowd of 3,500 here at the Lake Harriet Band Shell.
