What if race is more

Nicholas Wade, a leading science writer whose specialty is human evolution, likes to ask interesting questions. Here are some examples: Why has the West been the most exploratory and innovative civilization in the world for the past 500 years? Why are Jews of European descent so massively overrepresented among the top achievers in the arts and sciences? Why is the Chinese diaspora successful all around the world? Why is it so difficult to modernize tribal societies? Why has economic development been so slow in Africa? Contemporary thinkers have offered lots of provocative answers for such questions. It’s all about geography.

Selectively ignoring evidence and suppressing
all discordant voices is half the fun of being a good ´progressive´.

Feeling sure of one´s moral superiority is the other half.

When anyone on the Left says they want a "dialogue" or an honest "national discussion" about race, it´s obvious that that it exactly what they least want and fear most. What they want is another chance to command you to shut up.

The answer to those questions are known, but can´t be stated, even among family and friends.

If the members of all races understood or accepted the fact that each race may have its own Bell curve on any particular characteristic. Thus, even though some of one race may be "above" some of another race, not all of any race are "above" all of another race.

Race is a method of determining who to screw or who to supposedly help. It is used by sick people to get their way.

Canada´s left is merely an absolute clone of the Democrats. The Toronto Red Star and the Toronto Globe and Mail are simply NYT wannabes, exactly as Toronto is a NYC wannabe. Wente is a Brooks wannabe, a pet "conservative" of the left so it is very surprising that she would bring up a book that got it´s author fired from the NYT and even more surprising that instead of the expected vitriolic screed the article has an actual discussion embedded.

Expect to soon see Wente kneeling, burqaed, in front of a mom jeans wearing cabal of effeminate leftards, pleading for mercy and blaming it all on Sarah Palin.

New Tribal Recognition Rules

The Interior Department announced Thursday its long-awaited new rules for granting federal recognition to Native American tribes--but some lawmakers are already seeking changes. Some members of Congress and officials on the state and local levels have been warily bracing for the proposed new rules. Many have been concerned with how far and wide they might open new avenues for tribal casinos or lead to erosion of state tax bases and new battles over historical lands. The new rules by Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs Kevin Washburn would represent the reformation of a 35-year-old process by which the

WASHINGTON — VA Secretary Eric Shinseki issued a message to veterans Thursday defending his leadership and promising to fix delays in care that have rocked his agency and the Obama administration in recent days. The 71-year-old head of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the second largest federal agency, is resisting calls for his resignation. Shinseki used the narrative posted on the VA website to tout several accomplishments during his nearly six years of leadership. He noted that allegations of VA employees´ misconduct have surfaced over the last several weeks, beginning with scheduling delays at the Phoenix VA and said that if found to

It´s a question many hunters and gun enthusiasts across the country have been asking for months: Where´s the ammo? Subsistence hunters in Alaska usually spend this time of year preparing for the return of seals and migratory birds to the Bering Straits region. But this year many are preoccupied by the state-wide shortage of .22-caliber shells, one of the most popular and common types of ammunition in the world. From workers in Congress and at the White House to active duty troops, more than 318,000 federal employees and retirees owe just over $3.3 billion in back taxes, the Internal Revenue Service said Thursday. That works out to nearly 3.3 percent of all 9.8 million federal workers and retirees who are behind on their taxes, which is significantly lower than the proportion of delinquent taxpayers in the overall population. The IRS said it estimates that to be at least 8.7 percent. Those behind in their tax payments include 714 of the roughly 17,000 people working for the House and Senate, the agency

Detroit Motorists Under

DETROIT -- When they pull up to a gas station these days, Detroit drivers are looking beyond the price per gallon at a far more threatening concern: carjackers. The armed auto thieves have become so common here that parts of the bankrupt metropolis are referred to as "Carjack City," and many motorists fear getting out of their vehicles even for a few moments to fill a tank. So gas stations are taking steps to protect customers, and the city has formed a special police team to go after suspects. Convicted carjackers will even get their faces and prison sentences plastered

We don’t need a “national conversation.” We have that every day. We need reading programs, no War on Drugs, and other concrete solutions. There was a time when reparations for slavery was a hot issue in race discussions in America. Randall Robinson’s The Debt was widely read, and there were endless forums on the issue nationwide. However, 9/11 broke the flow, and before long, Hurricane Katrina and then a certain senator from Illinois basically rendered reparations yesterday’s news. However, in this month’s Atlantic, Ta-Nehisi Coates revives the issue. There is little point in rehashing the rather easy arguments against the

Karl Rove, fresh from outraging Democrats with his remarks about Hillary Clinton’s health, was on Fox News last night, and, once again, he was looking pretty happy with himself. As it became clear that establishment Republicans—i.e., those supported by Rove and his big Super PAC—had bested their Tea Party-affiliated rivals in a number of key G.O.P. primaries, Rove flashed his gnashers and told Megyn Kelly: “The reason Republican candidates are winning is because they are uniting the party.” Presumably, Rove wasn’t talking about Mitch McConnell, the lugubrious Senate minority leader, who does a good job of uniting the Democratic Party but

New Mexico ranchers are plenty mad over the U.S. Forest Service’s refusal to open a gate blocking their cattle from reaching water, but all sides say they are working hard to avoid an armed showdown reminiscent of Nevada’s Bundy ranch skirmish any time soon. And still standing are the metal fences and locked gates along the banks of the Agua Chiquita, put up by the Forest Service to keep local cattle out. The federal government says

President Obama is taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, blaming his inability to move his agenda on the “disadvantage” of having each state represented equally in the Senate. At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population. “Obviously, the nature of the Senate means that California has the same number of Senate seats as Wyoming.

Why do some political scandals stick while others fade? The level of media obsession seems to rise and fall as mysteriously as the stock market. On Benghazi, sell. Hold on the IRS audits. On the Department of Veterans Affairs scandal, buy, buy, buy. In the broader scandal market, fraud or criminality helps. Political intrigue is a plus. Sexual content increases attention but may eventually seem pathetically human and excusable. Conservatives are convinced that the liberal media are harder on Republicans.
