Will the House arrest Lois Lerner?
The Hill [Washington, DC], by Russell Berman

The House has held Lois Lerner in contempt, but it won’t use its power to place the former IRS official under arrest, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said on Sunday. Under a precedent affirmed by the Supreme Court, each chamber of Congress can authorize its sergeant-at-arms to detain individuals it holds in contempt. But Boehner said on "Fox News Sunday" that he has no interest in doing that with Lerner, whom the House last week voted to hold in contempt over her refusal to testify about her role in the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups. “I’m not sure we want to go down that path,” Boehner said. “It’s never been used,” he said of the

Boehner always ties his own hands up front so he cannot do anything later, no matter what the left does. That is after he proclaims his own proceeding to be "not a circus", thereby arming the left with his own words to discount the legitimacy of his actions. In short, Boehner is a fool, the perfect speaker for an Obama presidency, emasculated, ineffectual, and passive.

The House will refer her to the AG for action. I have great faith that Holder will do nothing.

Then the House can call for a special prosecutor, given that Holder has a conflict of interest as he has been held in contempt himself.

This will take some time in an election year, with even the news media cannot totally hide.

Further, having the power to do so is a strong tool, but actually exercising that power would allow the media to turn the tables on the GOP to even more than the normal liberal bias would indicate.

This is a issue of persecuting a government official abusing their position in government to attack private citizens. There should be no political consideration period about this.

After the full House of Representatives cited former Internal Revenue Service (IRS) official Lois G. Over at the Washington Post, however, print readers had to go 19 pages deep to “The Fed Page,” a union-style newsletter for federal employees. If the Post had buried the story any deeper, it would have been wedged into the classifieds or crumpled up in a backyard mulch barrel.
