Beyond Monica Lewinsky
New York Sun, by Editorial

Original Article

“How Monica Lewinsky Changed the Media” is the headline the Daily Beast has put over the dispatch by its founder, Tina Brown. She laments the landscape left by the scandal that led to the impeachment of President Clinton. She writes that Ms. Lewinsky, writing in Vanity Fair, “brings back a torrent of unfond memories of the appalling cast of tabloid gargoyles who drove the scandal.” She includes the “treacherous thatched-roof-haired” Linda Tripp, the “cackling, fact-lacking hack Lucianne Goldberg,” the “mealy-mouthed Pharisee Kenneth Starr,” plus the “solitary, perfectly named Matt Drudge.” We have nothing but regard for

Ms Brown, resorting to ad hominem attacks, loses any residual credibility as a journalist. Bye bye, Tina

Thanks Lucianne for doing your part and doing the right thing in protecting Linda Tripp from getting completely destroyed by "The most ethical administration"

This piece is yet another example of the left´s attempt to focus our attention on Lewinsky, rather than the underlying depravity of Clinton´s attempt to use his elected office to force Paula Jones, et. al., to have sex with him.

FTA: "But in the story of the Clinton years, we would count Mr. Drudge as one of the heroes (Ms. Goldberg, too)".

If not for Lucianne Goldberg and Linda Tripp this would have been just another Clinton scandal with no evidence. Without Drudge the world would not have known about it. Courageous. Heroic. Indeed.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) cancelled its longtime relationship with an email-storage contractor just weeks after ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s computer crashed and shortly before other IRS officials’ computers allegedly crashed. The IRS signed a contract with Sonasoft, an email-archiving company based in San Jose, California, each year from 2005 to 2010. The company, which partners with Microsoft and counts The New York Times among its clients, claims in its company slogans that it provides “Email Archiving Done Right” and “Point-Click Recovery.” Sonasoft in 2009 tweeted, “If the IRS uses Sonasoft products to backup their servers why wouldn’t you choose

Call it Paul Ryan’s finest hour. It’s a video of the congressman from Wisconsin confronting the commissioner of Internal Revenue over the missing Lois Lerner emails. They don’t believe Commissioner John Koskinen is telling the truth. They don’t believe him. Mr. Koskinen protested. No one believed that either. The conservative columnist George Will found himself in a firestorm of controversy and faced the inevitable calls from his progressive critics for his voice to be silenced after he wrote a controversial column about how colleges prosecute accusations of sexual abuse and dating violence. Both men and women are troubled by how campuses are handling cases of alleged sexual assault. Will highlighted a growing concern among students and parents over the increasing frequency of accusations of sexual misconduct, and the appearance that the accused are often presumed guilty before being proven innocent. “Questions about sexual assault policies in higher education

No longer able to compete as a news outlet, left-wing CNN has shifted its focus to documentaries like "The Sixties" and reality entertainment programming like "Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown." Overall ratings have continued to tumble at the network, though, and now adbuyers are pushing back and refusing to pay premium advertising prices. According to Variety, adbuyers believe "News audiences can be purchased more efficiently elsewhere." Consumers buy an average of 1,440 McDonald’s burgers and 5,695 Starbucks drinks every minute of every day, according to an engrossing new infographic from Retale.com. It’s no surprise that Americans are big spenders — the U.S. retail market totaled $3.2 trillion last year, and it’s expected to climb even higher this year, with online retail growing at a rapid pace. By 2018, annual online spending is expected to surpass $2,000 per person, according to Forrester Research. Amazon alone sells more than $84,000 worth of items online

The South Dakota Republican Party state convention passed a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama Saturday. The resolution says Obama has "violated his oath of office in numerous ways." It specifically cites the release of five Taliban combatants in a trade for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, Obama´s statement that people could keep insurance companies, and recent EPA regulations on power plants. "Therefore, be it resolved that the South Dakota Republican Party calls on our U.S. Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States," the resolution reads. Outwardly, they put on a show of unity — but privately, the Obamas and Clintons, the two power couples of the Democrat Party, loathe each other. “I hate that man Obama more than any man I’ve ever met, more than any man who ever lived,” Bill Clinton said to friends on one occasion, adding he would never forgive Obama for suggesting he was a racist during the 2008 campaign. The feeling is mutual. Obama made excuses not to talk to Bill, while the first lady privately sniped about Hillary. I still think President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, even though for 14 years he allowed his literary agent to circulate a bio blurb stating he was born in Kenya, and even though for many years he attended a church where his pastor friend shouted such things as “God damn America!” I still think that he just pretended to be Kenyan to be cool, to sell books and, perhaps, to get a foreign student scholarship at those colleges from which he refuses to release his transcripts. He’s probably not actually Kenyan. But as I speculated

The decision this past week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to rescind federal trademark protections for the Redskins may ultimately tip the balance in the controversy over the 80-year-old name of Washington’s football team. If so, that would be a shame. Not because there’s insufficient reason to consider the name “disparaging to Native Americans,” as the patent office determined. Many of us recoil at the reference to skin color as a team identity. The problem is that the Redskins case is just the latest example of a federal agency going beyond its brief to inappropriately insert itself in
