Why the GOP is So Divided
Townhall, by Steve Deace

Original Article

Posted By:mikkins2, 5/10/2014 10:23:12 AM

Several times during the 2012 campaign I had newspaper reporters from across the country contact me for my take on what Mitt Romney has to do to rally his base for the general election. (Snip) At best the Republican Party establishment views its grassroots base as what kids today would refer to as a hook-up or a booty call. At worst they outright hate us, because we’re the reason GOP cronyists don’t get away with pillaging and plundering the public trough for their buddies with the same reckless abandon as the Democrats. The golden rule to them is “he who has the gold gets to make the rules.”

Comments:
The Republican Establishment can deny it all they want. The proof is only a Google search away.

Ask yourself why they always choose the option that expands government and spending. Why do they always choose the side of the government when it is apposed by its citizens.

The Establishment of both parties think themselves as royalty and its court. Enriching themselves through tidings and tribute paid from it subjects. Their court prospering by favoritism and privilege, granted as payment for doing the royals bidding.

It looks as though another Revolution is the only remedy.

Got Tea?

Please note when editing that (Snip) is the form we use and that there must be a "space" on either side where it is used. If not, you run words together. LCom Staff.

Unfortunately, this article only confirms my rant on these pages that there simply is no political solution. The republicrats emulate the democrats and the conservatives are always left out in the cold. The nation will be driven to destruction before we can save it because the elite will continue to plunder it in the name of greed or ideology.

The RINO establishment :

-Concurs on tax increases
- Promotes growth of government
- Is passive to assaults on the Constitution
- Is neutral on intrusions into citizens´ privacy
- Does not care to defend family values

Tell me how that is different from the Democrats?

The Republican party is in deep trouble. They persist in looking like the Democrats. Why would I vote for a Dem lookalike when I can vote Dem and get the real thing? There is more opportunity by appealing to Conservative voters by fighting corruption and reducing the size of government, but there is no money in that. The more voters that the Republican party loses gives more advantage to the democrat party, and creates a greater opportunity for a new party. In the end the Republican party get discarded because it will have no support.

The republican party was never divided until Boehner became the non leader. Leaders are supposed to unite not divide, be inclusive not snobs. Ryan, Cantor,McConnell are as much to blame they got addicted to power in DC & forgot the people. They have become democrat lites.

Our politicians are playing shirts vs. skins, meaning they´re on the same team. The only difference I see is they shower their favors on slightly different sets of people but they´re all against the common person.

Will you please take a moment let us know what you want to see done in Washington today? It´s a one-question survey, so it won´t take long, but your answers will be used to direct our upcoming initiatives. We’re prepared to bring conservative reform to every aspect of government, but help us get to know the issues that are most important to you. I look forward to your response. Thanks, Paul Ryan´....here are the options: What should Congress focus on?.....Balancing the Budget;Repeal and Replace Obamacare; Tax Reform; Strengthen National Security; Entitlement Reform; Cutting Spending; Combat Poverty;

Very well put. Most of us here have been saying much the same. Repubs are very good at shooting themselves in the foot, again and again.

The various TEA party groups should have been the natural allies or at least partners of the Party, IF --a very big IF-- the goal is to save the Republic.

The other Party is set on destroying the Republic, "fundamentally transforming" it, in other words, destroying it.

And we are stuck with an effete, enervated, and i think corrupt Repub leadership.

It´s doing the same thing the Dem leadership does with this huge exception: the Dems operate out of self-interest, the Repubs seems to operate out of self-loathing and therefore toward self-annihilation.

The GOP is divided because it is riddled with Republican liberals (yes there are such freaks of nature, have been particularly during FDR and JFK and LBJ´s turns at bat) Demokrat/socialist/commie/Islamic infiltrators posing as Republicans while promoting the Demokrat/socialist/communist/Islamic agenda that is destroying America right on their schedules.

We need to take control of our government. Start at the municipal, county and state level. Turn off the TV and throw away the papers and go to the internet. In our primary in March, it took me over 5 hours to make an informed decision about all the candidates. Something like 40% of the races had 2 or more candidates. Some of these candidates will lose their way when they get in office. Replace them with better choices. By its nature a political party becomes corrupted. So pick the best one and fight them for control.

Fending off persistent questions about his residency status, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) noted in a radio interview last week that “my kids went to school” in Dodge City, Kansas, as a means of demonstrating his ties to the state he represents roughly 1,400 miles away in Washington, D.C. But a close inspection of that claim shows his children only attended school there for about three months, and attended and graduated from high school in Alexandria, Virginia, although they later attended college in Kansas. “We have declared Dodge [City] our residency; our kids went to school there. I was making an argument in that column against majoritarianism (and that is a critical issue, as explained in this video), but there’s also a very mportant moral component to this debate. In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.
