Romney calls for minimum-

business groups

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Friday called for an increase in the federal minimum wage, splitting with party leaders and some top business groups on what´s expected to a major issue in this year´s midterm elections. "I ... part company with many of the conservatives of my party on the issue of the minimum wage," he said in an interview on MSNBC´s "Morning Joe." "I think we ought to raise it because, frankly, our party is all about more jobs and better pay, and I think communicating that is important to us," he said. President Obama and congressional Democrats have

Romney said Republicans need to show working-class Americans that the party´s policies are better for them than those of the Democrats.

Its hard to believe that Romney doesn´t understand the basics of economics or the free market. Government price controls are the exact opposite of what´s "better for them". I believe its possible wages will increase more if there is NO minimum. Currently, all employers know exactly what to pay entry level employees -- the minimum. Take away that explicit, government-imposed price collusion, and competition for employees will take over and rates will rise to a natural level driven by the market. Some jobs it may be less than the current minimum, some will be more. Right now, its too easy for employers to know what their competitors are paying -- they pay the minimum.

So, according to Mitt,Republicans "need to show working-class Americans that the party´s policies are better for them than those of the Democrats." And so to do this they should adopt dumbass Democrat policies that will HARM working-class Americans.

The main conflict in the United States today is not between Democrats and Republicans but between the establsihment Democrats AND Republicans and the rest of the American people.

#3- The definition of insanity is to continue to support and vote for the GOP as it stands under its current leadership. Insanity is believing that because a candidate has a R after their name means they believe and uphold the values and principles that elected Ronald Reagan.

Amazing how so many in the R Party manage to cut their own legs out from under them, or shoot themselves in not one foot but both. over and over.

If they have a problem with Conservatives IN the Party, then talk about it behind closed doors.

Do we ever hear about disputes within the Dem Party? One thing Lenin was smart about was Party Unity (of course, he ruled his with his famous "Iron Fist" which he bequeathed to Stalin. The rest is history, as they say).

When the economy finally begins to truly improve, in about three years or so, wages will begin to rise. This, unless illegals get to stay...

Perhaps Sr. Romney would like to rule that only undocumented workers could receive the new ten dollar minimum wage, while regular unskilled and lazy Americans like me would only be qualified for the older seven dollar minimum wage.

Additionally, perhaps R might consider it the Christian thing to do to pay an additional five dollars per hour premium to illegals with secret muslim middle names, as hardship compensation.

If we are trying to spoil things further, why not?

Sorry but I am Wiser than that and will not drink Willard´s and the GOPe´s brand of Flavor-Aid on this issue. This three time GOPe Presidential Candidate Loser wannabe seriously needs to change his Party I.D. To DemocRat. The unregulated Free Market needs to be the determiner in wage settings. Government over regulation is one catalyst which is directly responsible for the current economic stagnation. So let´s jump on the band wagon of economic oppression and make things worse. Less government regulation and interference with the Free Market will assure the appropriate wage increase for workers.
