Democrats Fundraise Off Book
Advocating Impeachment of Obama

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Next month former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy will publish his book Faithless Execution: Building the Political Case for Obama’s Impeachment. And already the Democratic party is trying to raise money off the title. "There´s a book coming out soon, and Republicans are really excited about it. Here´s a hint about why: It´s about impeaching the President," writes the communications director for the Democratic party, Mo Elleithee, in a fundraising letter to supporters. "The thesis is -- well, let me quote it for you: "Impeachment is not about what the law allows. Impeachment is a matter of political will." Daniel, Republicans have nothing but the

Comments:
Amazing. If they had any sense they would be shocked and utterly ashamed of the charges against Obama. It´s tragic how far we have fallen in such a short time.

Why is anyone surprised?
Obama was out fundraising in Las Vegas on 12 September 2012--the day after the Benghazi attack.

And yet the Dems scream in fake outrage that the Republicans are using the Select Committee to fundraise?

Talk of impeachment -- even if reasons for impeachment were well founded -- is a distraction. Sometimes we have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Impeachment would take the focus off the wrong-doing Obama and his ilk have done.

Obama is president. He´s going to stay that way. To combat wrong-doing, the best thing we can do is to prevent another four or eight years of Democrats in the White House and Congress. Focus on that, not on Obama. Obama is so yesterday . . .

Chris Christie narrowly leads the pack of potential Republican presidential candidates in a poll of New Hampshire residents released Friday, but Mitt Romney crushes the competition when his name is added to the field. Christie, the cantankerous and controversial New Jersey governor, emerged as the most polarizing name on a list of 13 politicians presented during a phone poll between June 19 and July 1. While 46 per cent of New Hampshire Republicans like him, another 36 per cent don´t. And he topped the list when GOP respondents were asked who they definitely would not vote for. But with 19 per cent support

While the House and the Senate this week issued measures intended to temporarily replenish the Highway Trust Fund before it runs out of money next month, Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) ended the week by proposing to hike - then abolish - the federal fuel tax and replace it with a per-mile “fee.” “The policy development that I’m most excited about and that will reinforce the right practices for the future: After we raise the gas tax, we should abolish it,” Blumenauer said on Friday at the liberal Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C. “The time is right to replace the

Who even knows what’s true anymore? The same administration that is watching 57,000 kids just stroll across the border, while claiming that the same border is more secure than ever before, now says that funds to deport are getting low. Even though actual deportations — not the phony ones that the administration claimed for years — are down overall. The Homeland Security agency responsible for removing immigrants who are in the country illegally will run out of money by mid-August unless Congress approves President Barack Obama’s emergency request for $3.7 billion to help deal with a flood of child immigrants crossing the

Reverend Jesse Jackson sat down with Greta Van Susteren on Fox tonight and basically took on President Obama for pushing for billions of dollars to help young illegal immigrants at the border, but not making that kind of commitment to places like Chicago. Jackson said helping these poor children is obviously a good, moral thing to do, but Obama can’t just “abandon urban America” in the process. Jackson said that there is a crisis going on in Chicago right now, with guns and drugs coming into the city while more jobs are heading out. He said things have gotten so bloody and tragic, it’s time for federal intervention.

The crisis at our southern border, coupled with President Obama’s visit to Texas, has propelled Rick Perry back into the limelight. And Perry has made the most of this unexpected opportunity. Perry would like to be known nationally for more than his embarrassing run for president during the last cycle. In the words of this article from Buzz Feed, the border crisis has enabled him “to be out in front on an issue he knows well: the border.” According to the same article, Perry’s expertise “was on display when [he] took his spot in front of the dais” at a Homeland Security field hearing on border crisis last week.

His second term halfway over, President Obama is “trying to free himself from the constraints of office,” Eilperin wrote in an article on the front page of Friday´s paper. Acting OMB Director Brian Deese touted the recent decline in unemployment as a factor in the lower deficit projection. “Businesses have added nearly 10 million new jobs over the past 52 months,” he wrote in a blog post. Remember those civics courses that taught "how a bill becomes a law"? Well, they need a follow-up called "how a law becomes a sham." The lesson would focus on the ways in which Congress — usually amid an uproar over some particularly sleazy activity — bars behavior that most people would know is wrong, law or no law. Later, when nobody´s looking, Congress backtracks. The latest example is the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, which explicitly bars lawmakers and staffers from spreading or trading on inside information. The law passed in 2012 only after CBS´ 60 Minutes aired

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. The massive Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have surprised Hamas and other Palestinian groups. Hamas apparently expected a limited response to the recent rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns. But as the

President Obama’s ultimate weakness may be that he believes his own blarney. A year ago, Mr. Obama boasted in a “fireside” Web chat that his “is the most transparent administration in history.” There was not the slightest hint of irony. He may actually believe it. But three-dozen organizations representing newspapermen and other journalists, mostly liberals, beg to differ. In a testy letter to the president on Tuesday, the group decried the “slick non-answers” and cold shoulders they’re getting from Mr. Obama’s representatives, who have restricted access to any information they consider embarrassing to the administration. “The stifling of free expression,” the signers
