GOP establishment strikes
back in primaries

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

It was pretty much a rout for Tea Party/insurgents in yesterday’s primaries, as establishment-backed candidate for the North Carolina Senate nomination Thom Tillis easily exceeded the 40% threshold necessary to avoid a run-off, while incumbent House members John Boehner (OH), Renee Elmers (NC), Walter Jones (NC), David Joyce (OH), and Susan Brooks (IN) defeated challengers from the right. But before concluding that all is hopeless, consider a few aspects of the situation. (snip)The Hagan campaign´s "tell" is worth serious consderation in evaluating the results. She "lost" the primary even more than the tea party did.

Important quote FTA: "While I have many a bone to pick with Boehner, he did appoint a Select Committee days before the primary (coincidence?), and has demonstrated the he will follow his caucus if it pushes him in a conservative direction." Self-serving spineless RINO weasel. Of course he would NEVER lead them in a conservative direction. GOP leadership in Congress is comprised of old women and scoundrels.

Scoundrels is the key word. The entire political class is filled with scoundrels and they keep enough voters happy at the government trough to stay in power.

I prefer the TX approach that requires a candidate to capture 50% of the vote to avoid a run-off. If he can´t get half the voters of his party to support him, then the run-off will narrow the field to 2 and he gets another shot against a single opponent. The incumbent or the party´s choice have a huge advantage. If they can´t get half the party vote, the party or the incumbent is not representing the people.

One thing to win in a primary where the opposition vote is split several ways, its another to win in November with over half your voters alienated. If you are no better than the Democrat then why would be base turn out?

This is a shot across the bow -especially in NC - we are watching how they vote. Just because they survived a challenge this time doesn´t mean they will again. They will do well to remember that when they vote on Amnesty or the repeal of Obamacare.

On second thought, try “Hell no.” But that doesn’t stop the shills for Big Gay, who stand to make billions off expanded gay “adoption” (I use that term loosely), from continuously drawing the lame parallel. Just check out this section of an article that ran in the Daily Beast, by Jay Michaelson, on the United Nations’ recent resolution protecting the rights of the family: So, an amendment was proposed – formally put forward by Uruguay – that would acknowledge that “various forms of the family exist.” This

It’s another case of bureaucrats gone wild, DC mandarins lavishing money on their own offices, and spending more per square foot on renovations to existing, perfectly usable office space than it cost to build lavish buildings like Trump World Tower and the Bellagio Hotel and Casino from scratch. But hey, four story glass staircases and two story waterfalls and sunken gardens aren’t cheap. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is one of the most powerful and least accountable agencies of the federal government. The intellectual spawn of Senator Elizabeth Warren created by the ill-considered Dodd-Frank law of 2010, when Democrats controlled Congress,

He actually said this: the system “is so broken” that “folks don’t know what the rules are." He was referring to the children’s crusade on our borders that has caused chaos as tens of thousands of people try to illegally enter America - a crisis he has created by lax, or no-enforcement, of our immigration laws and by issuing executive orders that basically re-created the Dream Act - a law that could not pass Congress. But the statement was just stunning in its disingenuousness and yet another example of the most hypocritical president in American history. Does anyone know what the rules of

The same failure-to-thrive cultural ennui gripping Italy, Japan, and a host of other “advanced countries” is evident among Americans of European descent. Just when the media is beginning to really pressure Congress to grant Lois Learner immunity – “the American people need to know, so let her talk” – her lawyer plays the Sergeant Schultz card from Hogan’s Heroes. This back-and-forth also has probably being going on for some time between Lerner’s legal teams and Congress, and now it is the former´s apparent public strategy. Bob Beckel is still claiming that Obama didn’t know Ayers – “met him once” – and the other four supposedly conservative journalists had nothing to contradict him with! Every reader of AT knows that Ayers and Obama worked together - that Ayers hired Obama for the biggest job of his life before becoming President – handing out $100 million dollars of the Annenberg Challenge grants to radical causes, instead of using it to help Chicago’s schoolchildren. ere is a preview of the interview from Fox: Stanley Kurtz at the Wall St. Journal:

Take a deep breath everyone; Mitch McConnell, Thad Cochran and most of their Establishment buddies are bringing home the electoral bacon. The terrifying run of conservative candidates unseating the old-timers may finally be over. McConnell and Cochran each beat their conservative challengers, thus our heads can rest a little lighter on our pillows knowing that entrenched incumbency once again dominates the American electoral system. And rest assured that the repercussions of the Establishment’s win extend far beyond Kentucky and Mississippi. First and foremost, we won’t have to worry about another government shutdown.

Decades of socialist/progressive indoctrination in our schools, media, and culture, plus six years of Obama, have yielded a devastating unspoken consequence. It is the loss of who we use to be as Americans. In his 1961 Inaugural Address, President John F. Kennedy said, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” Democrats have perverted Kennedy´s inspiring challenge. Their dispiriting goal is to have as many Americans as possible controlled by and dependent on government, even for life itself, which is at the root of ObamaCare.

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses
