Oldest Man on Earth Lives
on the Upper West Side

NBC News [New York], by Lori Bordonaro

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 5/5/2014 5:08:02 PM

A 111-year-old New Yorker on the Upper West Side has been certified as the oldest man in the world. Alexander Imich attained the rank when Arturo Licata of Italy died April 24 at age 111, just a week shy of his 112th birthday, according to Gerontology Research Group of Torrance, Calif. Imich shrugged off the title in an interview with NBC 4 New York Monday when asked for his secret to living long. "I don´t know, I simply didn´t die earlier," he quipped. "I have no idea how this happened." Imich was born Feb. 4, 1903 -- more than a year before the subway system opened, and the same year the Yankees played their first season in New York.

Comments:
The next generation wishes he might have said it was "unlimited sex, drugs, alcohol, pizza and fried chicken" that kept him alive. You know, a "toot" a day...

Living in NY, its hard to believe he hasn´t been taxed to death yet. He has one hardy constitution.

If he was born in Poland and lived in the Upper West Side, why was he "of Italy" ?

Black flags over American tanks, Iraqi heads on public display and women threatened with death should they leave their homes – this is the new caliphate pseudo-state of ISIS, perhaps short-lived, but, while breathing, the worst of all case scenarios for anyone invested in the Middle East. (Snip) We know that ISIS’s current campaign, dubbed Operation Soldier’s Harvest, began in October 2013 with the explicit aim of cementing control of territory for the formation of a caliphate, erasing borders imposed by a colonial West and reimposing strict Shari’a law. With Ramadan approaching on June 28, we can expect ISIS will attempt a

Anaheim, CA - President Obama, appearing emboldened after his recent move to cut carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants, on Saturday ridiculed members of Congress who deny climate change or plead scientific ignorance as an alibi for avoiding an uncomfortable truth. Speaking in gleefully sarcastic terms to a commencement ceremony at the University of California, Irvine, Mr. Obama likened those who deny climate change to people who would have told John F. Kennedy, at the dawn of the space program, that the moon “was made of cheese.” He saved his most scathing words for lawmakers who say they are not qualified to

Thousands of Shiite Muslims across Iraq took up arms Saturday and joined security forces in the fight against Al Qaeda-inspired militants who have invaded and taken over huge chunks of territory north of Baghdad. The Al Qaeda splinter group, known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), has been on the move, conducting an offensive in the western region of the country and now threaten stability in the nation’s capital. A cheerleader for the Russian Revolution in the early 20th century and a leader in the labor movement during the Depression; hounded during the McCarthy era and orphaned after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Communist Party USA on Friday returned to Chicago, the city of its birth. Given the movement´s history, some might wonder why anyone would want to be a communist. But the more than 300 adherents who came to celebrate the party´s 95th anniversary at the University of Illinois at Chicago see it the other way around: Who wouldn´t want to be a member? US President Barack Obama is not considering military action against al-Raqqa, Syria, the self-declared capital of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), a US official tells The Jerusalem Post. "At the moment, the options being considered are focused on Iraq," the official said. "Of course, that could always change." The terrorist militia ravaging the sovereignty of Iraq is headquartered in Syria, where the group gained strength through the strife of the civil war there. Eliana’s report is just stunning — no matter how many times similar “mishaps” have occurred in this administration. The IRS, like other government agencies, has lots of reasons to maintain emails, so I’m curious about whether they will be similarly informing courts, Congress, litigants, FOIA petitioners, and other people and bodies they must periodically make disclosures and reports to that they’ve lost nearly two years’ worth of agency communications? Or was this just one of those highly, highly unusual computer crashes that affects only the email account of Lois Lerner and any executive branch official with whom she happened to

Liberal writer Mickey Kaus had enough of Murphy´s nonsense and slammed him on Twitter on Friday evening. Kaus became Brat´s de facto press secretary and top advocate on Twitter in the last months of the campaign because Kaus, like Brat, opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants because it would hurt American workers. ISIS, the brutal insurgent/terrorist group formerly known as al Qaeda in Iraq, has seized much of western and northern Iraq and even threatens towns not far from Baghdad. From where did ISIS spring? One of George W. Bush´s most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship. If this wasn´t so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil.
