Coke to drop controversial
ingredient entirely

NEW YORK — Coca-Cola says it will drop a controversial ingredient from all its drinks that contain it, not just Powerade. The Atlanta-based company says brominated vegetable oil is still being used in some flavors of Fanta and Fresca, as well as several citrus-flavored fountain drinks. (Snip) The trend toward natural foods has prompted some to steer clear of ingredients or chemicals that sound unfamiliar, even if they´re approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration and have been used by manufacturers for years.

Comments:
The folly here is delicious (no pun intended): Miss Kavanagh doesn´t like the sound of brominated vegetable oil in her Powerade and is now thrilled to learn that it will be replaced - with sucrose acetate isobutyrate and glycerol ester of rosin.

Gotta love big business. Replace the unsavory-sounding with two even worse sounding ingredients. Happy now, whiners?

This is no good as I was drinking a case of this crap everyday to get my minimum daily requirements of bromides, vegetables and oils.

CKE Restaurants´ roots began in California roughly seven decades ago, but you won´t see the parent company of Carl´s Jr. and Hardee´s expanding there much anymore. What´s causing what company CEO Andy Puzder describes as "very little growth" in the state? In part it´s because "the minimum wage is so high so it´s harder to come up with profitable business models," Puzder said in an interview. (Snip) If the federal minimum hourly pay shoots up to $10.10 from the current $7.25-as many lawmakers and President Barack Obama are advocating-Puzder predicts fewer entry-level jobs will be created.

Maryland’s bathroom bill benefits few
transgenders, puts all girls at risk

Maryland moms and dads will now have to be more vigilant when their children use public bathrooms. It will soon be legal for a man who simply says he identifies as a woman to use the ladies’ room. This serious risk for sexual assaults of women and little girls is all in the name of political correctness. And this is just the latest in a string of successes by the transgender lobby. (Snip) The most dangerous impact of this new law is that a man cannot be stopped from going into a women’s bathroom, locker room or pool changing room.

A former State Department arms expert who leaked classified information to a Fox News reporter was sentenced Wednesday to 13 months in prison after a pointed courtroom debate about the Obama administration’s aggressive pursuit of unauthorized disclosures of top-secret information. Stephen Jin-Woo Kim pleaded guilty in February to sharing classified information from an intelligence report on North Korea with reporter James Rosen, Fox’s chief Washington correspondent. (Snip) Under President Obama, the Justice Department has pursued more leak cases than all previous administrations combined.

Hillary Clinton continued to justify her high-dollar speaking fees on Friday, telling ABC News’ Ann Compton that all of the money she’s made from colleges over the past year and a half has been donated to her family’s foundation. “All of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life-changing and life-saving work. So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation,” Clinton said when asked about the criticism she and her husband have faced recently for their wealth. Hillary Clinton reportedly makes roughly $200,000 for each speaking engagement. And recent reports show

A charter plane believed to be carrying immigrants arrived this evening at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field, apparently from Texas. Three Homeland Security buses arrived a few minutes later, trailed by numerous law enforcement vehicles. There is no information as to the buses´ destination. Earlier this week, federal officials said that 140 immigrants who had been detained crossing the border in Texas would arrive Friday. But since the blockade by protesters Tuesday at Murrieta, officials have declined to provide information about the movement of the immigrants.

WASHINGTON-- First ladies typically avoid getting into public scraps, but Michelle Obama has jumped into perhaps her biggest battle yet. She´s fighting a House Republican effort to soften a central part of her prized anti-childhood obesity campaign and she says she´s ready "to fight until the bitter end." Mrs. Obama even mocked the GOP effort in an opinion column and argued her case before her Twitter followers. "Remember a few years ago when Congress declared that the sauce on a slice of pizza should count as a vegetable in school lunches?" she wrote in The New York Times. "You don´t have to be

For some time now, Elizabeth Foley and David Rivkin have had two questions about the 44th president: “How is he getting away with this? And why isn’t someone doing something about this?” Foley, a professor of constitutional law at Florida International University College of Law, and Rivkin, lead outside counsel of Florida et al. v. United States Department of Health and Human Services, one of three Obamacare challenges that ended up before the Supreme Court in 2012, are doing something. They are the architects of the House of Representatives’ likely lawsuit against President Obama, which would challenge the president’s selective

President Obama has, except on fleeting occasions, routinely disdained the customary Oval Office language of compromise and coalition-building for the low arts of sophistry and belittlement. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. His "so sue me" speech last week is a classic illustration of the community organizer practicing Saul Alinsky´s 13th rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize

The 81-year-old Joan Rivers and her mouth are back at it again. A street reporter found Rivers Thursday, and, in light of her officiating a gay wedding Monday, asked if she predicted the United States would have its woman president or a gay president first. “Well, we already have it with Obama, so let’s just calm down.” “You know Michelle [Obama] is a tranny,” she added. When asked for clarification she was more politically correct: ”A transgender.” Watch the whole thing here:

As the rest of America rings in Independence Day, the Obama family have yet another reason to celebrate: Malia Obama´s sweet 16th birthday. The First Daughter, who has recently been in California doing a TV production internship, was just ten years old when her father was first elected President of the United States. And over the past six years, the country has witnessed her grow up into a tall, stylish and mature teen, giving her parents plenty of reasons to be proud. The Obamas will be ringing in the holiday tonight with a Pitbull concert on the South Lawn of the White

Obama not betrayed? I can’t think of a single one. If Obama is different from other presidents, it’s not for the color of his skin, which is just a PR hustle to blackmail suckers into proving they aren’t racists. No: Obama will be historic for his fanatical leftism, which has no precedent in American history. The biggest headline

Sources inside MSNBC say former White House Spokesman Jay Carney, who recently resigned from his post at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, will likely be headed to MSNBC. Carney is in talks for a contributor position. If it happens, Carney would follow in the natural footsteps of a few other aides to President Obama who were welcomed into the MSNBC family upon leaving their jobs. The last White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, became an MSNBC contributor in May, 2013, while David Axelrod, a top aide to Obama, became one in February 2013. The headline of today’s jobs report, that 288,000 jobs were created in the last month, is positive. At least, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. However, as with most economic reports these days, there is a veneer of good news — but when you look closer, the White House is using the positive headlines to hide the growing deterioration of the American workforce. I’m sure by now people are tired of reading about the bad news, and I’ll admit I am weary of having to blow the whistle and expose the truth every
