Rich, famous racists tend to get off light
New York Daily News, by Linda Stasi

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 5/4/2014 5:02:49 AM

Last week was a big one for racists and the women who love them. Immediately upon discovering the racist rants not just by Clippers owner Donald Sterling, but also by populist rancher Cliven Bundy and TV star Jeremy Clarkson, the media went berserkers predicting their collective timely demises. The NBA even went so far as to ban the badly tarnished Sterling for life and to demand that he sell the team. Really? Not so fast. When old white guys — especially rich and famous old white guys — hurl racial slurs and behave in the most heinously bigoted ways, they usually don’t lose it

The best response to those screaming "racist" is "so are you." And leave it at that.

Lead paragraph and headline told me all I needed to know about the article. Was Sterling´s rant racist, you bet. Was Bundy´s speech racist, absolutely not. Was Clarkson´s racist...I have no idea who that is but I do know, without the word "racist" there would be fewer people pointing fingers to make headlines.

Perhaps there are four categories.....

1- Those who actually benefited from the historic abuse of blacks.

2- Those who suffered under that abuse.

3- Those who never abused anyone or benefited from said abuse.

4- Those who (while black) never were subjected to any historical abuse and most likely have benefited from AA programs.

All of those in categories 3 and 4 should be considered as equal and be allowed to use the same language. IE---If you can say ´cracker´ then so can I.

The aptly-named Ms. Stasi is all for the suppression of speech considered racist.

But I´d bet a ventricle she has nothing to say about Eric Holder´s racist refusal to prosecute black-on-white crimes, or about Obama´s kneejerk racist instincts to blame white people for crimes black people commit before there´s even a trial.

I´ll bet Ms. Stasi would be the first to champion the IRS´ squelching of tax-exempt status to all those white conservative political groups while allowing ALL liberal groups to sail through without even a glance.

I´ll bet Ms. Stasi is just fine with the racism of keeping black people on the liberal plantation with white money, even though said system prevents black people from advancing in life.

I´ll bet Ms. Stasi is fine with the racism of black abortions being higher than black live births, thankyouverymuch, Margaret Sanger, racist extraordinaire.

Maybe "rich, famous racists" (if most really are racists) get off easy because Americans have a good feel of who really are the racists in American, Ms. Stasi.

#2 -- Clarkson is one of the three stars (“presenters,” as our British cousins call them), along with Richard Hammond and James May, of Top Gear -- a long-running program about cars that isn’t really about cars at all… which may explain why it’s the number-one most pirated TV show in the world.

He’s also a semi-regular columnist for the British broadsheet press, ranking up there with James Delingpole as one of the country’s most wicked deflaters of all things lefty-prog... which, of course, makes him one of the most hated men in England.

Being racist or bigoted or having opinions contrary to political correct speech IS NOT a crime, so there is nothing to ´get off´ from.

I had a Louisiana State Trooper tell me that in Louisiana 13% of the population causes 95% of the crime!

Racist or a fact?

Since he was citing a statistical fact he saw when or what makes that fact racist?

One mans truth can be another mans racism!

Is it illegal to be racist, i.e. to hold racist opinions or to simply not like people who are not of your own race? If it is illegal to hold such opinions, what statute is on the books detailing the offense and the criminal penalties for same? Can a citizen be deprived of life, liberty or property for holding such personal opinions? I sincerly want to know. For if a person can be prosecuted for holding unpopular opinions, then the Bill of Rights is truly a worthless piece of parchment.

#13, I agree, although Mr. Bundy´s comments were a lot less offensive to me than Mr. Sterling´s. My father, Louisiana-born, would have earnestly tried to explain just as Mr. Bundy did, and the more explaining, the worse it would have gotten. Mr. Sterling, however, operating in a more sophisticated world, has little excuse.

#12 and all -- I should add: Top Gear runs the gamut from droll banter among Clarkson, Hammond, and May to inspired lunacy, often on a global scale.

As Clarkson says, “thick people doing thick things and clever people doing clever things is boring, and thick people trying to do clever things is just painful. But clever people doing thick things [like riding motor-scooters the length of Viet Nam, or sailing a pick-up truck across the English Channel] – that has real possibilities.”

Lois G. Lerner’s hard drive isn’t the only technological problem at the Internal Revenue Service. The tax agency’s inspector general has been warning for years of lost computer equipment, lax security that could place private taxpayers’ information at risk, and mishandled information technology contracts that wasted tens of millions of dollars. The reports are being disclosed as the IRS says its technology budget is strapped for cash, one reason the agency didn’t have a backup system to store all of Ms. Lerner’s emails that are the subject of a congressional investigation. “We are provided significant amounts of money but significantly less than we

Seinfeld premiered 25 years ago this week — but even the most dedicated viewers of its era probably missed its inaugural episode. Dumped in a graveyard slot as a mid-summer replacement, the series (which was then titled The Seinfeld Chronicles) was given just four episodes to justify its existence when it hit the airwaves in 1989. From those inauspicious origins came Seinfeld, the sitcom juggernaut that served as appointment viewing for more than 76 million Americans at its peak. Even in syndication, Seinfeld remains master of its domain; though it hasn´t produced a new episode since 1998, the series has earned

[I]n the wake of Obama’s Monday Rose Garden speech vowing unilateral action, some reformers want the president to go far beyond a limited expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, to essentially legalize the millions of undocumented immigrants who would be eligible for work permits under the bill passed by the Senate last summer. “The administration has unquestionable legal authority to provide all those who would qualify for citizenship under the bipartisan Senate Bill

The Wendy Davis campaign is having a tough time convincing Texas voters that she would make a good governor, and the video above might be a good reason why – they couldn’t name a single legislative accomplishment of hers. Liberals were infuriated when a conservative labeled Davis the “Abortion Barbie” for the way she was glamorously glorified after filibustering a Texas bill that would have raised medical standards at abortion clinics. The joke’s on you! A baby in a photo chosen by Nazis as the perfect Aryan baby has been revealed to in fact be Jewish, not German. Hessy Taft, who was 6 months old when the picture was taken, found out about the photograph after an aunt recognized her on a postcard, the Telegraph reports. At least eight universities, including four public institutions, have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hillary Rodham Clinton to speak on their campuses over the past year, sparking a backlash from some student groups and teachers at a time of austerity in higher education. In one previously undisclosed transaction, the University of Connecticut — which just raised tuition by 6.5 percent — paid $251,250 for Clinton to speak on campus in April. Other examples include $300,000 to address UCLA in March and $225,000 for a speech scheduled to occur in October at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
