Return of suspect in
$2.8M gold heist blocked

USA Today, by Brad Heath

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 5/2/2014 2:15:07 PM

A fugitive charged with pulling off a $2.8 million gold heist could soon be set free because U.S. immigration officials have blocked attempts to return him to the United States to be put on trial. (Snip) But investigators have so far been unable to bring him back because the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has told police it will not allow Valdez, a Cuban national, to enter this country, which is a necessary — and usually perfunctory — step in returning a fugitive from overseas, according to law enforcement officials familiar with the case. That could leave Belizean officials with little choice

Comments:
Here´s just another example of the schizophrenic behavior of the DHS. They won´t approve the entrance of this criminal because the DHS says: "Extraditing Cuban citizens to the United States can be problematic because once they are in the country, it is difficult to ever return them to Cuba." Suddenly they have immigration concerns?? Un.be.lievable. Uh, I guess they don´t know that London cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri is on trial now in this country. s/o

So why don´t the DOJ get the ATF to bring him in from Mexico after the ATF delivers the guns to the cartels.

On April 24, I reported that Ray Allen — Eric Cantor’s campaign chief and the founding partner of political direct-mail firm Creative Direct, LLC — had received $1.13 million in compensation from the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) for the year 2013. The party had issued that amount to Creative Direct; the amount represented the single largest expenditure for the party that year. Allen’s company was given the contract to handle direct mailings for the party. At issue is the appearance of a “fixed” primary environment for Eric Cantor’s opponent, Dave Brat. Yet further examination of the RPV’s finances reveals that

That the feathers have melted off the formerly high-flying Obama administration is now beyond dispute. First time tragedy (Benghazi), second time tragic-comedy (Bergdahl). And now, with the leak of the famous Obama “workout” video, farce and ridicule. Ladies and gents, I give you the effective end of the Obama presidency. And off into the brave unknown we fly. Has there ever been a presidency like this one? Jimmy Carter, whose administration I’m old enough to remember vividly, began with a similar euphoria of “hope,” coming as he did in the wake of Nixon’s resignation and Ford’s pardon. The unknown governor

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a book coming out next week. Today, her publisher released images from the back cover of the book. The pictures mostly show Hillary meeting global leaders and attending important meetings. But one of the images is Clinton with President Barack Obama, standing in front of the Benghazi caskets at Andrews Air Force Base, dated September 14, 2012, just days after the September 11 attack. Here are the back cover images, as they were released on Twitter:

We´ve all heard that the law requires the administration to give Congress 30 days notice before releasing prisoners from the U.S. terrorist detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba — a provision the White House willfully ignored in the recent release of five Taliban commandos in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. But the law — specifically the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 — requires much more than that. Congress did not intend for the president to give lawmakers a simple heads-up. Instead, the House and Senate ordered that any such 30-day notification must include: 1) A detailed

On Thursday´s New Day on CNN, during a discussion of President Obama´s decision to release five high-risk Taliban prisoners from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for hostage Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, without even notifying Congress first, liberal CNN commentator Paul Begala took a gratuitous swipe at Republicans as he cracked that, "if Barack Obama cured cancer, the Republicans would attack him for putting oncologists out of work." At about 8:30 a.m., after conservative commentator Cheri Jacobus gave her view of the Bergdahl prisoner trade, noting that Democrats have also been critical of the President, co-host Chris Cuomo turned to Begala and posed the

Vice President Joe Biden is being encouraged to challenge former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by the influential Dartmouth Review which declared on Thursday that “Biden can win the Democratic nomination in 2016.” “The chance lies before him, and seems closer than it has in the last 20 years,” said the Review. “To try and fail is forgivable, to not want the job is enviable, but the one thing that Biden cannot do is back down out of fear.” Biden is dozens of points behind Democratic frontrunner Clinton in every poll, and is even behind “undecided” in many. But that shouldn’t stop Biden

Hillary Clinton, who recently raked in $5 million dollars in speaking fees in 15 months, recounted to Diane Sawyer the sad tale of her former destitution, telling her, “We came out of the White House not only dead broke but in debt.” According to Clinton, she and her husband, who has made over $100 million since leaving the White House, “struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education, you know, it was not easy.” But, as Clinton’s story goes, the two hard-working, middle-class millionaires somehow managed to put food on the table in

The platoon was, an American military official would assert years later, “raggedy.”On their tiny, remote base, in a restive sector of eastern Afghanistan at an increasingly violent time of the war, they were known to wear bandannas and cutoff T-shirts. Their crude observation post was inadequately secured, a military review later found. Their first platoon leader, and then their first platoon sergeant, were replaced relatively early in the deployment because of problems. But the unit — Second Platoon, Blackfoot Company in the First Battalion, 501st Regiment — might well have remained indistinguishable from scores of other Army platoons

A new study that tested the willingness of drivers to stop for people depending on their race has shown up some disconcerting conclusions. Portland State University-based Oregon Transportation Research and Education Consortium (OTREC) had six men - three black and three white - of similar age and build and dressed in identical ´neutral´ outfits cross the same street in Portland at separate intervals. The street had a crosswalk that was not governed by traffic lights, leaving the onus to stop with the driver, according to The Huffington Post. The Obama administration gave the parents of Army Sgt.
