Ex-White House Official On Benghazi:
´Dude, This Was Like Two Years Ago´

Business Insider, by Paul Szoldra

Original Article

Posted By:quantumman, 5/2/2014 6:25:29 AM

Former White House National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor went on Fox News on Thursday, and after host Brett Baier grilled him over the issue of the talking points used after the attack, he finally responded with, "Dude, this was like two years ago." Throughout the exchange, Vietor — who seemed annoyed at the line of questioning — wasn´t really able to answer Baier on various questions, telling him he "believes so" or that he didn´t remember. "You don´t remember?" Baier asked, to which Vietor responded, "Dude, this was like two years ago. We´re still talking about the most mundane

There is no statute of limitation for murder. Zippy thinks there is - remember he has an affirmative action law degree from Harvard.

I watched the interview and actually felt a bit sorry for the young man. He´d been put forward to make the case and was certainly trying to do so, although ineffectively. In fairness to him, however, the "two years ago" statement was in response to a question about who made what word change in the memo, was it the spokesman or someone else. He wasn´t specifically talking about the Benghazi events.

I didn´t feel sorry for him at all. He´s an arrogant punk, who acted like he was annoyed because he was actually questioned about something that happened 1 1/2 years ago, where OUR dedicated agents died.

IF the media would have done their job and pressed the WH on Benghazi, OUR country wouldn´t be suffering like it is now.

0.1% growth. Everything BO does is pathetic.

If you want to be taken seriously on any topic, it is probably a good idea not to respond to a serious question by using a term like, "dude."

I, too, watched the alleged interview and Brett just nailed his arse to the wall. The kid was clearly out of his league. The Lo-Fos who dare to watch Fox probably thought he was cool calling Brett "dude", which was among the most juvenile things to come out of this Administration other than O´s various comments where he says things like, "Stuff like that" when referring to dead Americans in Benghazi.

And while we´re at it, whatever happened to the promise by O and Hillary to "bring the perpetrators to justice"? Is that "justice" as in our "Justice Department", because if so, it´s not happening any time soon.

Contrast this to the whole Valerie Plame pseudo-scandal. GWB readily called for a special prosecutor who, having nothing of substance to investigate, milked the job until he got a contrived process crime for the MSM to trumpet about.
I never thought I would see anything worse in the
White House after the Clinton/Rodham crime wave, but the current bunch (including her Royal Thighness) take the cake.

I listened to the interview while I was working. My reactions was, "Did he really just say Dude?" So I looked up from my work at the screen and was surprised to see the Pajama Boy in a Big Boy suit. The arrogance of the Zippy administration is breathtaking. They send out a third string recently promoted back bencher to be interviewed on national television about what is developing into kryptonite for Democrats? What the hell were they thinking

I absolutely understand that politics right before an election could make for some very poor decision making. However, there is NO EXCUSE for an order to stand down. What gets me:

1) Why no whistle blowers in the military (so far) on the order to stand down? No one is going to convince me that the military did confirm everything with Panetta before not sending help.

2) Why haven´t we gone after the terrorists that are still hanging out in "coffee shops" ? I have to wonder if it´s because the terrorists will spill the beans on Obama´s interactions with them and the Muslim brotherhood.

There was nothing about this arrogant little twit that would make one feel sorry for him. He has been a spokesman for the National Security Council ever since he was elevated far above his pay grade, undoubtedly for loyalty unto death.

He is proud of what he has done and what he was doing yesterday. Representing the president. Never mind that his adherence to the same tired talking points stuck out like a sore thumb. Never mind that he was rude and meanspirited, and superficial. Never mind that he thought "everybody does it" about changing the talking points was A-OK.

Benghazi was just another "exciting event" in this party boy´s short, meaningless (unless you count the danger his lies are to others) life.´

I have two grown sons. I thank God neither of them would never ever be what this pathetic creep is.

Tommy Vietor was not "put forward" yesterday.

In his role (for several years) as a public communications spokesperson for Obama and the National Security Council, he was part of the prep team for Susan Rice´s Sunday morning appearances after Benghazi.

Although his arrogance seemed juvenile, and he was no match for Bret Baier who was engaged in honest questioning, his mendacity and rude attitude were hisi own. He knew full well what he was doing. What he has always done. That is how this unfailingly loyal young man was latched onto and carried along by Obie since even before 2008.

As one of the very most faithful, Vietor has the capacity and will to be a very dangerous guy as he will do anything - ANYTHING - for Obama.

More telling than the juvenile response in a formal setting on national TV was the admission by the White House Weasel-of-the-day that the Commander-in-Chief responded to live monitoring of the on-going seven hour attacks on our foreign service officers by not even deigning to watch ANY smidgen on live feeds in the situation room in his own basement yet, as we all know, did manage to jet off to Las Vegas for a campaign fund-raiser without lifting a finger other than telling minions, "To handle it."

Beyond entrusting serious policy issues to a supercilious twit, the interview episode reveals more of the perfidious nature of our chief executive.

Here is the guy whom some charitable, albeit misguided, souls think was put out there, thrown to the wolf aka Bret Baier:

Tommy Vietor worked as a spokesman for President Barack Obama for nearly a decade. Vietor served as the President´s National Security Spokesman from January of 2011 through March of 2013 where he was the media´s primary contact on all foreign policy and national security issues. From January 2009 through January 2011, Vietor was an Assistant White House Press Secretary responsible for foreign policy, education and labor issues.

Vietor joined Obama´s senate campaign in 2004 and served as Obama´s U.S. Senate spokesman. In 2007, during the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses, Vietor worked as the Iowa Press Secretary, and continued his work on the campaign as a rapid response specialist in the 2008 general election. Vietor is regularly tapped by national television and print outlets to serve as an analyst on foreign policy issues.

Vietor´s bio says that while Obie was still in Illinois, he was one of the first young people to come forward and volunteer for Obie during his Senate campaign. He has been "out there" ever since then.

Still feeling sorry for the "kid"?

Vietor is an ideologue. He is a true believer. Obama surrounds himself with many of these vacuous worshippers. They have no critical thinking skills and do Obama´s bidding because their greatest privilege in life is to serve him. It is a little creepy. This same blind allegiance is why many evil men have prospered throughout history.

Bravo to Brett Baier. He handled the interview expertly and showed great restraint by not physically wiping the smug expression off this punk´s face.

The bio blurb from Fenway Strategies (up the thread) is probably self-written as that is the company Vietor formed with speechwriter Jon Favreau after they left the White House. However, the job titles are accurate and Tommy Vietor´s public statements were circulated in the press every time there was a need for someone to speak to the media on those issues.

I too wondered about his main point, which was that persons involved in the Benghazi attack had stated that they were upset about the video. He reiterated this numerous times as the primary reason for the video´s being blamed for the attack. Paraphrased "who would know better than those on the street who were involved?" He even went so far as to say that they would know better than Gen. Lovell, who was watching the attack by drone.

Who was talking with those people while the attack was in progress? Or even afterward? Why did we not hear of that before?

For future reference you might want to make a point of remembering major milestone defining life changing/ending moments for a bit more than 2 years, just in case. We all knew that they´d roll the log long enough to play the "old news" card.

Another sliver of advice, don´t utter that kind of drivel in the presence of any family member of those who were sacrificed at the alter of Obama´s reelection campaign. It might not go so well for you sport.

Brett´s proximity to Vietor even seemed closer than normal when he is interviewing a guest. It was almost like a prosecutor in a trial cross examining a hostile witness. Maybe Vietor was intimidated and was trying hard not to pee his pants.

Great job, Brett! That "dude" thing may have opened the door to truth that has been so long hidden. The families of those four dead Americans deserve answers as to why no help was sent.

A young writer hired for the Tonight Show remembers every joke he wrote for Leno, the Fox producers´ assistants remember EVERY script change they wrote, and a 30-year-old hired to work in the White House remembers EVERY word he wrote and EVERY change he made ("OMG! I like added two commas, Mom, and they LEFT them IN!!!!!!!!!!!") And I´ll bet Ms. Lucianne to this day remembers her significant contributions when she worked for Kennedy. OK, he might have to think a minute to summon up his changes to a white paper on the Potato Bill, but this was crisis time, with heightened senses. He remembers.

You can imagine hundreds more like him who have no experience and capabilities who have been put in positions that are critically important to this country. He was a spokesman for the National Security Council?? I didn´t think it was possible, but now I´m even more concerned about who really is in charge of this country. Sorry, #1, I can´t agree. I teach elementary/middle school children for a living, and I would NOT put up with Vietor´s insolent manner/behavior for 20 seconds. His disrespect in the interview extends, I´m sure, to all Americans-- including the military.

Almost as annoying-- Read down in the article and you will find that the author accuses Republicans (especially Lindsey Graham) of ´sometimes taking their Benghazi obsession to somewhat absurd lengths´: www.businessinsider.com/benghazi-two-years-ago-2014-5#ixzz30ZbTovWy

Um... I´m no fan of Lindsey Graham (here´s hoping his primary opponent crushes him), but on this he´s right-- even if he´s shouting about it for political reasons-- and the arrogant, supercilious attitude of Vietor seems to be more than matched by the smug demeanor of Business Insider author Paul Szoldra.

Now let´s see, this ´dude´ was in the situation room while the Benghazi attack was ongoing, but he didn´t see the President there. And, while CIA and State Department people in the field were reporting this was NOT a demonstration, but a coordinated attack, he said the ´demonstrators" were interview and said it was about the video.
Who did the interviews?

Meanwhile, Hillary talked to Obama on the phone and then issued a statement blaming the attack on a demonstration about an obscure video while the attack was ongoing.
Why were the reports from the CIA and State Department people in the field ignored?

What does it matter?

This attitude follows right along with HRC´s "What difference does it make?". Liberals have no sense of responsibility or accountability. You just keep "movin´ on".

I also thought this clown´s attitude was inept and pathetic. "Dude"? Really? Is this administration the new choom gang? Tommy, guess what, there are a lot of people who take the death of one of our Ambassadors seriously and your stoner attitude is annoying at best. You were going on a major news show to talk about Benghazi and you don´t know your role in the events? How dumb are you, dude? Are you like BO; nothing is challenging enough for you? You can´t be bothered to pay attention? Maybe someone should make YOU an ambassador and post you in a world hot spot and see if that matters to you.

Time after time, President Obama has reportedly learned of a number of big administration scandals in the media, from the IRS to Fast & Furious and now the VA scandal over wait times and veterans dying before receiving proper treatment (Jay Carney said today the president learned about this scandal through media reports). All this apparent unawareness before the fact led Charles Krauthammer to argue on Special Report today that Obama acts like he “stumbled upon the presidency” only to be shocked by how much wrong there really is. After the full House of Representatives cited former Internal Revenue Service (IRS) official Lois G. Over at the Washington Post, however, print readers had to go 19 pages deep to “The Fed Page,” a union-style newsletter for federal employees. If the Post had buried the story any deeper, it would have been wedged into the classifieds or crumpled up in a backyard mulch barrel.
