The Coming Two-Tier Health System
Wall Street Journal, by Scott W. Atlas

Original Article

Posted By:tisHimself, 5/2/2014 12:21:16 AM

With the unveiling of the Affordable Care Act´s website, the public experienced a painful reminder of the consequences of the government´s new authority over health care. While millions signed up for insurance, millions of others abruptly lost their existing coverage and access to their doctors because that coverage didn´t fit new ObamaCare definitions. The health-care law was generated by an administration promoting government as the solution to inequality, yet the greatest irony of ObamaCare is what will undoubtedly follow as a long-term, unintended consequence of the law: a decidedly unequal, two-tiered health system.

My specialist doctor just informed that all Medicare patients must pay $500 annually to receive non-urgent care.

All the injustices ObamaCare brings to Working-Americans should be recorded.

I have yet to see the flow chart, but seems all the health car premiums get funneled through Government (HHS). That´s why it´s so crazy expensive. No typographical errors. They must be skimming at least 25% off the top, "Administrative Expenses".

Kings and Queens don´t come cheap, ya know.

The middle class is losing ground and becoming the poor class. The two-tier system is really BarryCare for the poor class and top notch care for the elite (uber rich and the politicians).

The ACA essentially is an instrument of the ideology that Government is the solution to all major inequalities in life. If you believe that, then the price in dollars as well as liberties (usually other people´s) is worth it. If not, then get off your rear ends and get into the polling booths in November.

Anyone who paid attention has known from the beginning that this was a two tiered system. We knew as soon as congress exempted itself from the law. This law isn´t about health or insurance. It´s about control - the top tier "elites" controlling the bottom tier masses. IOW, communism.

If the government controls your health, it controls EVERY aspect of your life. Example #1, Mooch´s food police.

To further #7´s post..."Your child needs a life saving procedure? First you must turn in your guns."

Luckily, there is a guaranteed strategy to destroy Obamacare...require all politicians to be subject to it, without any exceptions, and without any taxpayer paid subsidies. Forget the tweaks and the direct attempts to repeal it (which the RINOs are scared to death to even attempt), just go for the amendment that forces all elected officials and government workers into the plan...at their own expense. That one requirement will kill the whole thing.

Actually it will become a three-tier system where anyone over a certain age will get no healthcare at all. As the healthcare costs skyrocket the age of no care will be lowered and lowered. Similar to the raising of retirement age for social security. The senior citizens of this country will be decimated by this law passed only by Democrats but funded and "fixed" by Republicans. A plague on both parties for this death panel bill!

Call me cynical but this is my take. Because we are lied to now on a regular basis, I look at the beginning, middle and end results. Hospitals were going broke due to laws requiring the treatment of the indigent. This was in the news and we all knew it. There were other issues but that was a big one. The answer was to transfer the costs to the taxpayers. That would be Single Payer and paid via the progressive income tax. We´re not there yet but taxpayers will still fund the treatment through higher taxes and the progressive premium structure. In the end it´s Medicaid for all leave the well connected. We´ll all be seeing strange sounding doctors with strange sounding names in DMV style clinics. That´s progress. Oh, and they´re all in on it if you ask me.

But Rand Paul says it´s impossible to repeal it, so I guess we´re stuck with it, right?

I can´t believe the vaunted 60s generation, who when young stood up to "the Man", and who are today´s seniors, are going to put up with this, which is nothing more than rationing of health care.

And what about the rest of us? Civil disobedience is in order, at the very least.

The two tier system is already here, and I´m in the bottom one. Just got notified my monthly premiums are going up $200. We have the highest deductible plan, and will be paying $1400/month. In March of 2010, it was $600/month. But the democrat press doesn´t want to tell America about this. Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Paul Ryan and the rest of our rulers do.not.care.

It is worth noting there was not a peep from the medical profession in defense of their patients´ health. The American Medical Association was for rationed care; medical schools, our top of the line hospitals and individual doctors all silent accomplices.

We did get a few articles in the state media about breast and prostate cancer are over treated and how we should have fewer mammograms and PSA tests in order to help our President Obama with our own euthanasia.

Amazing collusion.

I joined a concierge type of association about a year ago, knowing that with Obamacare the day would soon come when it would be difficult to see any Doctor unless you are one of the liberal elite. The rest of us will have to arm wrestle with some low level bureaucrat for permission to get a cough drop. Quality of patient care and expenses are the least concerns of Obamacare. It’s all about making you bow to His Majesty.

#2 - My cardiologist professes to be unaware of this $500 non-emergency treatment edict. Might it be a $500 surcharge for non-emergency visits to the ER room? I have a neighbor who takes an ambulance to the ER room for a hangnail; perhaps a $500 non-emergency fee would deter her from misusing the system. BTW, Google and Bing are mum on the $500 non-emergency medical fee subject ... at least I couldn´t find anything about it. Hopefully someone with more search engine savvy will have better results.

#8 has stated that which I have been saying for quite some time now. We have tried and tried the voter way to put a stop to the downhill slide of this country. Now is the time to use the only other option that is open to the regular citizen. And the reason that we were give a 2nd Amendment. Does that sound extreme? Yes it does. But unless extreme measures are taken, this country is doomed. Just like the Roman Empire. Except it lasted for a thousand years, not just 250.

The way to end this is to get a law passed requiring elected federal government officials and those who work for them to use ordinary everyday Obamacare that is not (specially) subsidized (congressmen, senators, presidents and their staffs make large enough salaries to disqualify them for normal subsidies). That is, make that two tiered system inaccessible to those who wrote and passed Obamacare.

So BOCare is really GhettoCare.

Is this really a surprise? Every time the government provides something it is lowest quality and highest price. People think they are getting a good deal with Social Security but they fail to realize that if they paid 12 percent of their income into a private account and let it grow for their 50 year working lifetime they would receive, conservatively, 3 times what they get from Social Security. The government takes our money, returns a pittance back to us, and we are supposed to be grateful.

Wake up people. Government largess, of any kind is a bad deal, for everyone. The people that pay get ripped off. The "beneficiaries" get poorest quality and are trapped by government costs in that poor quality situation.

#16 and others bashing Rand Paul for stating the obvious, please show me how you repeal zerocare now. I’m interested in your mathematics how 45 Republican Senators can magically muster the 67 votes to override a Presidential veto. Even after the mid-terms, if we picked up 12 seats, which is dreaming, we’re still 10 shy without any rat support. The same holds true for impeachment.

There have been over 40 bills passed in the House to repeal zerocare, not one of them was brought up in the Senate. If we win the Senate and get our own majority leader, the repeal bills can be voted on, but they still won’t pass with enough votes to override a veto. The end result, put bluntly, is while zero is in the White House, zerocare cannot be repealed. It’s not a matter of law, it’s the reality of numbers. I think the GOP’s “fixing it” is code for delaying it until we get the White House.

We need to wage war on voter fraud and push voter ID laws. Before armed revolution, let’s show up at the polls and take back school boards. There is a lot of truth in, “The hand that rocks the cradle…” We need to inform the lo-fos that our stance against entitlements is not absolute, we want to help those that fall, but we don’t accept responsibility for those who jump.

Finally, if you want to get rid of a sitting RINO, try to do it in the primaries not in the general election. Sad to say, but a true RINO is a touch better than a rat. Staying home and complaining makes us total losers in the end. That’s how the rats got enough numbers to shackle us with this fundamental change to begin with.

You fight for the American people every day, you don´t give up just because it may be too hard. Another wave election is building (if the GOP doesn´t muck it up), the American people never wanted O-care and still don´t. And as for the 10 or so "rats" needed for repeal if we take the Senate, you put them in the spotlight every day, making them accountable to their constituents. You apply real pressure and don´t just show up in front of the microphone one news cycle, giving lip service.

I will not lick the boots that are on the collective necks of the American people. Those who love freedom and liberty should always be ready and willing to stand up for it. No matter how long the haul or difficult the way. If Paul is serious about 2016, his words will come back to haunt him in the GOP primaries.

Dems have recruited the help of RINOs (who love their D.C. social life far more than their constituents) to help them turn every undocumented worker into a voting welfare recipient.
With the presidency firmly entrenched for decades to come, their control of the death panels will turn our society on end.

It´s just human nature that the elites and the rich and famous will end up having their own first class private health care insurance and health care delivery systems as soon as Obama care gets rolling into the single payer system that the liberal Democrats really want. Don´t worry there won´t be very many Washington politicians on Obama care once that happens.

But to drive in the stakes and build our intellectual ramparts on this point is little more than ceding coveted ground in an argument against a completely unfounded doctrine that presents falsehoods as facts. There is a more fundamental observation upon which we can mount our legitimate defense against the doctrine of “political correctness,” and it lies in the simplest inspection of the phrase “politically correct.” Inherent in those two words’ juxtaposition is

The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
