Peaches Geldof ´killed by heroin ovedose´
Telegraph [U.K.], by Keith Perry

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 5/1/2014 2:38:11 AM

Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose, echoing the death of her mother which had haunted her, it has been reported. Toxicology reports at her inquest will confirm her death was as a result of the drugs overdose, The Times said. The TV presenter was found dead while caring for her 11-month-old son at the family home last month. Police discovered no evidence of drugs paraphernalia in the house, leading to speculation that items may have been removed before the property was searched, the newspaper said. Roger Hatch, the coroner, waited for results of the toxicology tests to determine if Ms Geldof had died

Comments:
By all means, let´s legalize heroin. It certainly was ´legal´ in the rarified celebrity circles she ran in and was applauded in. They probably told her it was all natural and organic, too, and she was just vapid enough to believe them. Well, here´s the result.

Heroin is certainly dangerous stuff, and while I´m by no means saying that legalization would be desirable, at the same time much of what makes it deadly is the fact that it remains a street drug: The addict never knows what dosage he´s getting in the packet he buys from a dealer. Were the drug subject to the usual sorts of FDA scrutiny, with regulated dosage and purity, it´s not inconceivable that the number of overdose deaths would actually decline. Again, not saying that legalization would necessarily be a good thing, but only that the relationship between legal status and lethality is not straightforward, either.

VATICAN CITY -- Pope Francis came out strongly against the legalization of recreational drugs on Friday. The pontiff told members of a drug enforcement conference meeting in Rome that even limited attempts to legalize recreational drugs "are not only highly questionable from a legislative standpoint, but they fail to produce the desired effects." Francis has frequently railed against the "evil" of drug addiction and has met with addicts on several occasions. Just last month, Uruguay -- next door to Francis´ native Argentina -- approved selling marijuana cigarettes in pharmacies, and recreational marijuana is legal in the U.S. states of Colorado and

Uruguay´s president Jose Mujica delivered a message from Barak Obama to Cuba´s Raul Castro proposing the opening of dialogue to discuss the blockade, reported the Montevideo media on Thursday. The occasion was the recent G77 summit held in Bolivia. According to the weekly Busqueda, which regularly reports on Mujica´s activities, the Uruguayan president met with Castro in Santa Cruz de la Sierra last 14 June and delivered the message which was coordinated when Mujica visited the White House last May. Allegedly the message was that the US government was prepared to reach an “agreement” with Cuba, for among other things lifting

WASHINGTON – Approval of President Barack Obama’s handling of immigration has dropped to 31 percent, while 65 percent of people surveyed by Gallup disapprove of his immigration policies. That was the result of a study published Friday by Gallup, which also indicates that disapproval of Obama’s immigration policies has increased 10 percent since the last time the same survey was taken in August 2013. Since Gallup began taking the poll, never has it come up with such a high disapproval rating, and only in 2010 was approval lower than 31 percent.

The number of unaccompanied children from Central America into the U.S. has reached 47,000 since October, and may hit 90,000 by the end of this year. The official story is that they are fleeing drug-gang mayhem and political violence in their home countries, and so are refugees and asylum-seekers. But the Guatemalan ambassador has said they are seeking economic opportunity and the “American dream.” It’s hard, however, not to see a connection with Obama’s 2012 Deferred Action for Arrivals Program, which defers deportation for illegal aliens who are minors. Obama enacted by executive fiat––and just recently extended for 2 years––this

Venezuela wants to increase oil supplies to the United States to regain its lost market share over the past decade, as Caracas views the shale oil boom in the United States as an opportunity to increase heavy crude exports, said Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum and Mining Rafael Ramírez. After meeting with investors and bankers in London last week, Ramírez –also the president of state-owned oil conglomerate Pdvsa–, said Venezuela is working to get a loan of USD 4 billion from China secured by oil sales. However, he remarked the total debt of Venezuela with Beijing was under USD 20 billion,

The embassy, a beige fortress on the banks of the Tigris River within the heavily-secured Green Zone, where Iraqi government buildings are also located, has the largest staff of any United States Embassy. The exact number of people being evacuated was not clear Sunday. The embassy would remain open, a person familiar with the planning said, and much of its staff

John Avlon’s dishonest column on the cop-killers in Las Vegas should be studied by journalism students as an example of how to exploit a tragedy for political purposes. It is a shame he gets on CNN as an “analyst,” which gives him undeserved authority and prestige, when he deliberately confuses and misleads people. In this case, he tried to blame conservatives for the murders of two policemen. His Daily Beast column carried two titles, one of them being, “The Bonnie and Clyde of Ultra-Right Hate.” He said Jerad and Amanda Miller killed two metro cops while shouting, “This is a revolution!,” and then

I have been listening all week to TV pundits lamenting that Lois Lerner’s hard drive has been destroyed, and therefore her e-mails are lost. This is simply not the case. Your server keeps a copy of that e-mail, and of all your e-mails – sent and received. When you create all the folders in your e-mail program that you use to save e-mails in...these are also

The Obama administration’s claim to have been surprised by the wave of children flooding over out borders may turn out to be another political lie of the year. Sundance of Conservative Treehouse noticed a very peculiar advertisement: On January 29th of this year, the federal government posted an advertisement seeking bids for a vendor contract to handle “Unaccompanied Alien Children“. Not just any contract mind you, but a very specific contract – for a very specific number of unaccompanied minors: 65,000. • Why would DHS and ICE be claiming “surprise” by the current influx of unaccompanied minors on the border
