The Benghazi Scandal in One Email
Power Line, by John Hinderaker

One aspect of the scandal, anyway. The administration has released a series of emails in response to FOIA requests by Judicial Watch. You can read them here. This one, by Benjamin Rhodes, a White House political operative, shows the administration’s priorities on the Friday before Susan Rice’s infamous tour of the Sunday talk shows. (Snip for graphic)From the earliest hours after the attack, this is how the Obama administration saw Benghazi. The overriding imperative was to deflect attention from the “broader failure of policy” that led to the disaster. Roger Simon says these emails are grounds for impeachment. I wouldn’t go

...brings a smile to my face that it was an email from Ben Rhodes that begins the breakdown of the lies that were built around Benghazi...

...lets not forget either that his brother was, and perhaps still is, president of CBS News, for what it´s worth...

...they´ll be much to come forward in the days ahead to remind us he was a man in a position far above his skill set, just like Barry his boss...

Well, we now are certain Dear Leader is trying to cover-up something (as if there was ever a doubt about it) but we still do not know what. Such extraordinary lengths to cover-up mere incompetence? Doubtful...

This is ridiculous. Yes maybe Rhodes did start the video story but Obama, Clinton, everyone knew the real story within hours. Any one of them could have just corrected the story at any time. Every one of these people that kept the lie going needs to be put in jail right now under Sheriff Joe´s watch. There is no way the average citizen could get away with what these liars did. God Bless America again.

Well it is perfectly understandable that neither Clinton nor Obama were available for comment or leadership on the anniversary of 09/11. After all, that´s when their Islamic operatives go to work. That´s their official day off.

What happened in Benghazi involved the murder of Ambassador Stevens by a cabal of people who have never come to light. The cover up is designed to protect Zippy.

What happened there that night was unspeakably evil - it will take years to uncover.

What cold, calculating, heartless individuals that could hatch this plan and see it through. They never gave a thought to the families and friends of these dead Americans. All that was important was that Obama and Hillary were protected. That is just morally reprehensible and just when you think it can´t get any worse, Obama and Hillary join in on the ruse. There are people in the highest levels of government who are moral degenerates. Horrifically, their bosses are worse.

This administration views everything thru political strategy lenses. Hillary will be no different. It is so obvious to anyone paying attention.

I wouldn´t be surprised to learn Obama wasnt involved in any knowledge of this attack, or at least only superficially... he let his political hacks spin and set the tone. All to get re-elected. Makes me sick. I hope the families will come forward with the vengence of Cindy Sheehan.

When the coverup (like Watergate) took on a life of it´s own it was evident that something sinister was afoot. Clinton´s statement, in particular, reeked like 3 day-old fish.
Essentially saying she´d run out of lies and was daring anyone to question her further.

I believe there are still lamp posts on the bridges in DC. If we could only get enough heavy rope it would make a beautiful picture.

In a sane country there would be a platform set up on the National Mall with two nooses hanging from it and the worldwide media there to cover the "historic" event.

As more evidence surfaces, more attacks on the right and Tea Party will start to emerge. The mainstream media in this country is corrupt to the core and they will continue to protect this President and his ilk no matter how much blood is on their hands. And they have blood from Fort Hood to Benghazi and not a bit of remorse or regret for the loss of life.

The key point in the email in this article is that it states it´s Prep. for Susan Rice. The email was on Fri., Sept. 14, they were all going to brief Susan on Sat. at 4P for her Sunday appearances. The email was 3 days after the attack so it was by no means Ben Rhodes speculating. He was stating White House position that it was the video alone (or as the NY Times likes to say, an American made video). Two days earlier on Wed., Sept. 12 even the WaPo reported that gov. officials and others said the attack was definitely planned, not spontaneous, ie not a video. That´s why this email is grounds for impeachment. But John Boehner refused to hold a vote to empanel a Select Committee with subpoena power to investigate Benghazi. Even after he was begged to do so by the families, military members, and many in congress. He adamantly refuses. So it´s safe to say he won´t advocate impeachment. This email was obtained only after a lawsuit and without John Boehner´s help.

Trey Gowdy was just on FNC basically calling out "leadership" (Boehner) to quit dithering and move this along. He emphasized that this was an email that was only acquired by FOIA by a private company.. not from supoenas of our congressional committees. Basically, if congress can´t do oversight as well as a private company, what the heck are we paying them for??

Time for Boehner to step down and lets get a real leader. I can think of one from SC I´d like to see sitting up there.

For a long time I suspected the deep conspiracy how this cabal came to power and how it rules the country. In one aspect I admire how they did it: without bloodshed. Fascists and commies had to kill multitude of people to acquire the power - practically everywhere it was massacre!
So, there is no doubt in my mind Benghazi was a cover-up. One thing I still can´t understand is why obozo didn´t retaliate for the death of Americans there? My guess is that by not retaliating was somehow expedient for the regime.

The only news left to cover is why all the activity in Benghazi and we will find out soon enough that it was a CIA operation to supply weapons to the terrorists. The timing is too good for it to have been anything else.

At the time, I found it hard to believe that obama did not know what was going on and wasn´t getting periodic briefings as it happened. Now, I have no trouble believing that the sleazebag just didn´t care and his only concern was three days of partying and golf in Vegas so he could play the drunken idiot in the upcoming debate.

The reluctance of Hamas’s “military wing”—a misnomer for the more extreme elements of its extremist leadership—to accept the cease-fire designed by Egypt is, well, logical. Let’s admit it. They do not wish to accept defeat, and the Egyptian terms are a defeat for Hamas. By attacking Israel, what has Hamas wrought? Considerable damage was done to Gaza by Israeli air power, and Gazans will be picking up the pieces for months if not longer. But Hamas proved unable to kill one single Israeli with its hundreds of rockets, and all its special tricks—tunnels, longer-range rockets, a drone—also failed. Nor could

House Republicans are moving quickly to address the growing humanitarian crisis on the southern border, possibly holding votes as soon as next week. As Congress moves closer to the monthlong August recess, the speedy action sends a clear message to Senate Democrats: Take it or leave it. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), incoming Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and a group of top lawmakers working on the border crisis are set to file a bill that very closely mirrors the legislation crafted by Texas lawmakers Sen. Two of the larger social trends of our time — the growth of payday gambling and the legalization of marijuana — have two things in common: They are justified as the expansion of personal liberty, and they serve the interests of an expanding government. The ideological alliance behind these changes is among the strangest in U.S. politics. Libertarians seek to lift governmental restraints on consensual acts. State governments seek sources of revenue without the political inconvenience of requesting broad tax increases. Both find common ground in encouraging and exploiting the weaknesses and addictions of citizens. (And business interests and their lobbyists,

That same consensus also holds that if the GOP does indeed take control, the next two years will be marked by confrontation with the White House and even less actual legislative action than the present Congress has accomplished. To be fair, there is some compelling logic behind these conclusions. President Obama has clearly opted out of the role of governing through legislation. The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

The headline in the Washington Post on June 4 was clear: Rove-backed American Crossroads won’t get involved in Cochran runoff Said the Post story the day after Tea Party favorite Chris McDaniel had defeated six-term Mississippi GOP Senator Thad Cochran in the first round of the state’s GOP primary: American Crossroads, a GOP establishment organization, has decided to shift its political focus almost entirely to the general election and will not be spending money in the likely runoff election to decide the Mississippi Senate nomination that was virtually deadlocked after Tuesday night. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
