Bungling Bundy
American Thinker, by Russ Vaughn

Original Article

Through the past week we have witnessed events that should be viewed as our dead canary in the mine shaft. The bird who bit the dust was that not-quite-defensible old rancher out in Nevada, Cliven Bundy, who got chewed into a mess, not just by a demonstrably dishonest New York Times, but by a pack of media minds eagerly seeking to prove to the reigning media elites their politically correct bonafides: Bill O’Reilly Sean Hannity Glen Beck Without questioning the accuracy or completeness of a quote attributed to Cliven Bundy, the rancher under assault by the Federal Bureau of Land Management, all three seized

Comments:
Add to this the glee vibrating from Establishment minions as they got to play their racist trump card to discredit Bundy. Their focus was to be able to shut-up and discredit the messenger and hopefully turn any scrutiny away from what the government is doing.

This leads one to wonder just why they are so hell bent to protect our government´s land grab. We have explained why we support Bundy, maybe its time to turn the question around on them.

Got Bundy?

I long ago lost trust in all three. To different degrees they all keep a finger up to see which way the wind is blowing and then sail in that direction. Degree is not really the correct word. All three are measuring the wind in somewhat different places, but still following prevailing winds for where they are choosing to position themselves.

Blunt talking from the future FBP: bitter clingers...is okay but not from some old white man in Nevada.

I´ve pretty much given up on Fox News and their talking heads. Six years of no invitations to the White House must finally be getting to them.

You just had to know that there was a liberal media type out there in the bushes egging on Bundy to give his opinion on race in America, something entirely apart from his dispute with the federal government over grazing rights for his cattle.

QAs Obama mentioned the other day, there are a lot of ignorant people out there and all you have to do is listen to them talk to figure that out, or perhaps egg on an eighty year old man who should know better then give his off the cuff description of the complicated racial situation in America using obsolete terminology thus handing the race hustling industry and the liberal NY media a ticket to portray him as a bigot.

The liberal media figured out long ago how to get far right Republicans to talk and get themselves into big trouble. Remember when they got a couple of Republicans to talk about contraception and rape before the last election, resulting in the Republicans losing two possible senate seats. This incident brought a lot of fools on all sides out of the woodwork.

Bill O´Reilly is the worst of the three. He thinks he is the first person to realize the federal government is responsible for the destruction of the black family. The man does not even sound as though he keeps up with what is happening in our nation, except the summaries provided to him by his staff.

O´Reilly and Hannity could have at least listened to Bundy´s entire statement. Then they could have commented on whether they believe the Democrats have sentenced many poor blacks, whites and Hispanics to a new form of slavery on the Democrat plantation.

O´Reilly wants everyone to know he is not a racist and will not allow racism to exist in the US. Hannity, on the other hand, is more interested in what his old buddies from the civil rights organizations in Atlanta think about what he says. Plus Hannity is apparently not concerned with details about what Bundy said.

What if Cliven Bundy’s public speaking role model was Gabby Johnson of “Blazing Saddles” fame, best known for turning frontier gibberish into a stem-windin’ art form, dag nab it? But, is that a crime? I think not.

Kudos to Russ Vaughn for this clear-thinking American Thinker article!

Raspberries, to Simple Man, Spin Zone Occupant, Never Wrong Bill O’Reilly, for his quick-to-condemn Bundy’s clumsily chosen words without first reminding himself to take “Caution!” Beck and Hannity as well, but not nearly as loud-mouthed as The Actor From The Factor.

STOP!! Don´t you see what´s truly happening here?

We are doing the left´s work for them.

We are fighting amongst ourselves and viciously attacking men who long ago, and frequently thereafter, established their conservative bona fides.

Beck, Hannity and O´Reilly were right to distance themselves, and other conservative lights were validated in not becoming involved. Bundy was a flawed hero. He was expendable. His cause lives on.

The Adam Nagourney hit piece in the Times was intended to destroy Bundy and his cause, as well as to draw attention away from Harry Reid on this matter (you have noticed that Dingy has been quite quiet on this issue lately). If any conservative speaker of note had stood by Bundy during all this, the shrieking prog media would have hung his scalp, too.

You know what was beautiful about all of this? Ordinary Americans -- you and I -- have defended that noble rancher, first against the outrageous government over-reach and then against the ridiculous charge of racism. Isn´t this what our Founding Fathers would expect from us.

First they came for Cliven Bundy...and we kicked their butts!

The question here, imho, is: are we going to INVESTIGATE congress -- Harry Reid & Son -- as to how they can broker deals with China on OUR federal tax-payer land?????

And they have been trying to get Bundy on something during this entire fiasco. They are probably kicking themselves for backing down before he finally said something we can all hang him for. An old-fashioned idea that slavery was better than welfare. I say welfare IS a form a slavery, but not close enough for a cigar. The welfare recipient can walk away.

#13, it´s hard to determine what Bundy was assessed in grazing fees, but apparently he owed between 1500 and 2000 per month in six-month leases. The fees are based on the number of cattle. One document stated he owed $31,000 by 1995. He stopped paying in 1993, so obviously a lot of the 1.1 million we hear about is from fines and penalties. He´ll be able to avoid paying the money in the long run, but I don´t see how he avoids removing his cattle. He should have gotten a good lawyer initially and based his objections on access to water, as the Hage family did. Instead, Mr. Bundy fought on the basis of not recognizing the federal government´s authority on the public lands.

Fending off persistent questions about his residency status, Sen. In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.
