Protestors Picket Britain´s Law
Society Over Sharia Implementation

Breitbart London [UK], by Andre Walker

Protesters picketed Britain´s Law Society last night after it was revealed that the group has taken a step towards assisting the implementation of Sharia law in Britain. Last month the Law Society issued guidance on Sharia wills, now it is offering a training course on the subject. [Snip] The protestors last night expressed concerns that, for the first time, a major legal body is giving credibility to rules that justify discrimination against women and ´illegitimate children´. One protester told the group: "We have to be clear that we are not anti-Muslim, it is Muslim women who suffer the most under

EU to Relax Border Controls

Amnesty International has revealed its pro-immigration prejudice by criticising member states of the European Union for spending hundreds of millions of euros trying to build effective border control. In a report published this week, Amnesty International complains that, "EU migration policies and border control practices are preventing refugees from accessing asylum in the EU." The report insists EU member states must "start putting people before borders." The organisation also criticises the policy by which "the EU and member states are also cooperating with and funding neighbouring countries, such as Turkey, Morocco and Libya, to create a buffer zone around the

Ask any Nato commander in Afghanistan what is the biggest hurdle to defeating the Taliban insurgency, and there is only ever one answer: the safe havens in Pakistan from where militants can launch strikes in safety. [Snip] Last month Pakistan acted, launching hundreds of airstrikes on targets in North Waziristan, home to the Haqqani network – considered the most deadly of Afghanistan´s insurgent groups – as well as Pakistani terrorists intent on bringing down the government in Islamabad, sectarian outfits and groups with an eye on Kashmir. Ground troops have followed, sweeping through the area. The question is: will it work?

The vast majority of children apprehended crossing the U.S. - Mexico border end up staying in the country, a new study has revealed. Only 3,525 the nearly 47,000 juveniles entering the U.S. illegally were deported during fiscal year 2013 by immigration judges, researchers found--and an additional 888 were permitted to voluntarily return home. [Snip] President Barack Obama has ordered them held in shelters to provide basic human necessities while their situations are sorted out, and has insisted they will not be allowed to stay. But they are staying, and in far greater numbers than ever before. ‘They´re here, and they´re

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chair Rep. Darrell Issa sent his latest subpoena to the Obama administration on Friday, demanding testimony from the director of a controversial White House office reportedly tasked with political work on taxpayers´ dime. David Simas, the director of the White House Office of Political Strategy and Outreach, has refused to testify voluntarily but will be required to answer questions in a July 16 hearing on Capitol Hill. President Barack Obama closed the White House Office of Political Affairs in 2011, just days before an Office of Special Counsel report warned that it risked ´transforming

Iraqi Kurds have taken over two oil fields, Iraq´s oil ministry says, amid a growing dispute with the government in Baghdad. Kurdish peshmerga forces seized control of production facilities at Bai Hassan and the Kirkuk oil fields, in the north of Iraq, on Friday, the ministry adds. Kurdish MPs have also withdrawn from Iraq´s central government. They did so after Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused the Kurds of harbouring extremists. Kurdish forces have moved into areas of north-western Iraq abandoned by the Iraqi army during the advance of Islamist insurgents led by the Isis (Islamic State in Iraq and

Israel is only hours away from launching a ground attack on Gaza, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has claimed. The Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization warned that the Israeli government has already approved a land operation in Gaza, and that the operation is likely to start later today. His claims come as a fresh wave of rocket attacks have hit sites in Israel--including towns in the north of the country that were fired from Lebanon. It is the first time militants in Lebanon have launched missiles following four-days of rocket attacks sent from Gaza. It is not yet known whether

Cease-fire proposals in wars between Israel and its neighbors are predictable: as soon as Israel is winning, the United Nations demands a cease-fire. As Dore Gold ably documents in his Tower of Babble: How the United Nations Has Fueled Global Chaos, cease-fires typically prevent a decisive end to the conflict. They have often guaranteed further war in the long run by providing a temporary calm that allows Israel´s enemies to regroup. President Barack Obama offered Thursday to broker a cease-fire between Israel and the Palestinians--actually, the Hamas terror organization. That is one of the worst ideas, among many contenders, ever

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. The massive Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have surprised Hamas and other Palestinian groups. Hamas apparently expected a limited response to the recent rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns. But as the

President Obama on Thursday claimed he is “not that partisan of a guy” as he mocked calls in the Republican Party for his impeachment. President Obama’s ultimate weakness may be that he believes his own blarney. A year ago, Mr. Obama boasted in a “fireside” Web chat that his “is the most transparent administration in history.” There was not the slightest hint of irony. He may actually believe it. But three-dozen organizations representing newspapermen and other journalists, mostly liberals, beg to differ. In a testy letter to the president on Tuesday, the group decried the “slick non-answers” and cold shoulders they’re getting from Mr. Obama’s representatives, who have restricted access to any information they consider embarrassing to the administration. “The stifling of free expression,” the signers

Bears, beer and horse heads: What exactly is going on with the leader of the free world? On a single day this week in Denver, President Obama scarfed down pizza and drinks with strangers, shot pool with Colorado’s governor and shook hands with a guy on the street wearing a horse mask. His top staffers are promoting these stops on Twitter with the hashtag #TheBearIsLoose — a term one of Obama’s aides coined in 2008 when the candidate would defy his schedule. More than five years into his presidency, Obama is trying to free himself from the constraints of office,

Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008, is advocating the impeachment of President Barack Obama. “It’s time to impeach,” she wrote, “and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.” I am a pretty fierce critic of the president myself, but let me be among the first to say that Republicans would be insane to follow Ms. Palin’s counsel. That was when their adventure of a lifetime turned into a nightmare. It began with a fever, then a rash and then Lyra became lethargic. That was when the couple used their satellite cell phone to call a doctor. He advised them to begin treating Lyra
