No, Sarah Palin, Baptism Isn’t A Good
Punchline For A Terrorist Joke

The Federalist, by Molllie Hemingway

Sarah Palin gave a speech to members of the National Rifle Association, gathered in Indianapolis this weekend. She said something that struck me as sacrilegious. I’ve long defended Palin against the offensive treatment she’s received at the hands of a blatantly biased media, a media that collectively lost its mind the moment she entered the national stage. But that hardly means she must be defended at all times. What did she say? Here’s how The Hill reports it: “They obviously have information on plots to carry out Jihad,” she said at the National Rifle Association (NRA) annual meeting on Saturday evening, referring

How ridiculous! The use of the word baptism is often used in a secular context, such as in "baptism by fire." So, a child going on a 2-wheeler by himself for the first time, and the parent casually says: "It´s his baptism by fire; let´s see if he can make it..." is sacrilegious?

Honestly! The world is turning upside down, and the "offenses" are ludicrous! With all the real problems in the world, why, oh why is she pointing fingers at this instance? Remember the rules: "isolate, demean, belittle...."

Mollie must hold baptism as a sacred ritual that rises to the level of holy.

Baptism is nothing more then a believer following what the Lord commanded to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus never said if it was better to dip, dunk or spray (that single issue causes much debate and has split many churches).

Blasphemy is denying the divinity of Jesus Christ as well as assigning things or actions to GOD, Jesus or the Holy Spirit that are not his attributes. Also, calling on the Lord as in using his name as an afterthought in speech i.e. OMG!

There is nothing blasphemous about a comment, no matter how crass, about baptism. If someone thinks there is then I suggest they are raising baptism to the level of worship and hence idolatry.

I appreciate why Mollie was motivated to take the high road in defense of Baptism. I also (along with several others here) understand why it was that the low road was taken by posting this article negative of Sarah Palin.

Consider Sarah´s audience, those in the convention center and throughout this land. Those who ignore the palpable threat of Islam and apologize for extreme measures in extraordinary circumstances have abandoned us. Sarah speaks our collective minds when she says she would deal harshly with Muslim terrorists.

You´ll not be surprised when you learn what my new email tag line is. Yup: "Waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists." --- Sarah Palin

This country was at war with the Musulman when we were founded, It´s about time we won that war.

Have you ever gone on a couple dates with someone, but then decided it just wasn’t going work out? It’s a tough spot to be in, especially when you know they are totally into you and you have to be the one to call it off. Chattanooga was in that position in February of this year with the United Auto Workers (UAW). Ever since Volkswagen opened its American manufacturing headquarters in Chattanooga in 2011, the UAW has been the city’s heavy-breathing suitor. Give them this: the union has been very persistent. The US government has been pushing the idea of home solar panels for quite a while now, giving the industry a significant, additional nudge when the current federal subsidy program was generously expanded in 2008. The idea behind this was that if homeowners wanted to save some money on their energy bill by using solar power, they could receive a 30% subsidy to help cover the costs. Sounds pretty sweet, eh? Well, when the government is giving away taxpayer cash, plenty of people will line up to get it… and it’s not always those who were intended to benefit. This

WASHINGTON -- Welcome to Barack Obama´s split-screen presidency. On one side: a confident Obama making campaign-style stops around the country and ridiculing his political opponents to the delight of cheering supporters. On the other side: an increasingly unpopular president hobbled by gridlock on Capitol Hill and a steady stream of vexing foreign policy crises. Obama has long sought refuge outside of Washington when his frustrations with the nation´s capital reach a boiling point. But his ability to rally public support in a way that results in progress for his legislative agenda has perhaps never been weaker than it is as he nears

The facts are simple. The IRS systematically targeted conservative and Tea Party groups after their activism proved decisive in the 2010 midterm elections—Obama’s famous “shellacking.” The effects of this targeting were widespread. Some Tea Party groups were neutered in the months before the 2012 presidential election. Few of the explanations or justifications of this targeting provided by IRS leaders and Obama administration officials have held up. IRS officials at first denied that any targeting had taken place. That was false. They later claimed that the targeting had involved only low-level employees in the Cincinnati office. That was false. They argued
