Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) easily swept a straw poll of 2016 GOP contenders at the Maine GOP convention this weekend, securing nearly a hundred votes more than the next best potential presidential candidate. Paul topped the field with 176 votes out of 690 cast, with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) finishing second with 98 votes. Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker rounded out the top three vote-getters in the straw poll with 70 votes, while Dr. Ben Carson placed fourth with 62 votes. Establishment Republicans like New Jersey Gov. A tremor that may well be an earthquake come this November, and especially into 2016.

Pubbies can ignore their base to their own political detriment. They will not pick up enough Hispanic votes to make up the difference.

But, then again: they are the stupid party.

What a misleading headline from Breitbart. Rand Paul is establishment only worse. He sold out the people who elected him, then wrote a book called the Tea Party goes to Washington, then flipped and supported the opposite of everything the TP stands for in one person, Mitch McConnell. Rand Paul cut off at the knees the entire conservative, grassroots, and TP movement by his bait and switch campaign. Now he´s in front of every microphone criticizing us--as if we´re the ones who destroyed the country and handed it to the radical left. We saved the GOP in Nov. 2010 Rand Paul. We made the GOP big, Rand Paul, and they laughed in our face. They didn´t want to be big, they just wanted to be democrats. Rand Paul should be recalled.

#7: Good point about the LSM setting Bush up to drown in shallow water. I firmly believe that we are looked at as fools because we are led by fools!

Rand Paul always scores high on these inconsequential Straw Poles, and so did his father, because the ´Repeal all Drug Laws´ Libertarian Freakoids crowd will crawl over broken glass to show up and vote for either one of them.

Considering that non-resident college students and back woods Pot-Heads on Food Stamps comprise an important percentage of active Main voters, it´s no wonder he did well this weekend. He always does in these venues!

Many of the young-and-stupid casual drug user will always vote for a Paul and Rand Paul will also be getting a share of voters who aren´t young-and-casual drug users!

Remember the guy with the bad hair cut?

Both Rand´s and Ron Paul´s numbers are/were always inflated by that ´Let Me Have My Drugs Legally´ minority that aren´t/weren´t genetically predisposed to be Left Wing Ding-Bats!

Instead, they are politically slightly to the Right-of-Center Ding-Bats but never the less, their driving force is FREE USE of DRUGS!

Maybe they are DNC/Soros plants.

Continued from above.......

Rand wont get really good numbers during the 2016 primaries. He´ll do OK but will be just another ´Also Ran´ candidate even after the LSM makes him out to be the second coming of ´You Know Who´!

What he is doing is prepping for the 2020 and 2024 election cycle well after the American conservative voter forgets that he endorsed Collins and McConnell and stated that ObamaCare cannot be repealed but must be fixed and that some form of Amnesty should be passed in 2014.

And he is a CONSERVATIVE? Please! Gag me with a Ginsu Knife and get it over with!

Just another slick talking political camelion spewing snake oil.

By 2020, ObamaCare will either be a bad past memory or totally ingrained into The Socialist Republic of America and 50% of American voters will be a combination of Hispanic and Black and Rand will then have a good chance at the WH without conservative´s vote.

That is what he´s banking on this cycle, to set himself up for when conservatives don´t influence the election.

And so are several of the others!

Kafir

House GOP leaders on Tuesday said they will insist that changes to a human trafficking law be included in any legislation responding to the wave of child immigrants crossing the border. Republicans have blamed the influx of children at the border on the 2008 law, which they say has served as an incentive for people to enter the United States. The law allows minors entering the country from Central America, but not Mexico, to request asylum hearings. President Obama has asked for $3.7 billion in emergency supplemental appropriations to care for people crossing the border, and to hire more judges

In the beginning of the 2009 flu season, Barack Obama declared the H1N1 swine flu a national emergency. By October of that year 1,000 people had already died, and according to the president there was the threat of a pandemic. In order to hasten treatment and convince Americans to line up like lemmings for a flu shot, Obama gave former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius a one-time authorization to bypass standard federal regulations to quickly respond to the outbreak. Protests from local elected officials in Maryland this weekend forced the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) to cancel its plans to send illegal immigrant children to an Army Reserve center in Westminster, which is about 35 miles from Baltimore. Maryland Democrat Gov. Martin O´Malley said illegal immigrant children flooding across the border should be considered "refugees" and all be given asylum status, but after Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) publicized the federal government´s last-minute plans to sneak illegal immigrant children into Maryland, there was considerable blowback. HHS backed off, citing things like insufficient access to drinking water at the facility.
