Let´s build a fence around John Boehner
Daily Inter Lake [Kalispell MT], by Frank Miele

The last few weeks I’ve explored ways in which liberals have worked to undermine conservatives in the American political scene. This week, let’s look at one typical instance of so-called conservatives shooting themselves in the foot. Examples of this abound, and you will forgive me if I don’t make a laundry list of all the ways in which Republicans are played for suckers by Democrats. That would be too painful. Instead, let’s just look at the virtual surrender of traditional values expressed by Speaker of the House John Boehner last week while campaigning in his home district in Ohio. Forget a leadership role #3. He needs to be removed from Congress period.

I cannot remember a bigger failure a Speaker if my lifetime. His latest whiny interpretation of fellow Republicans opposing immigration while laughing at them is a disgrace.

Ohio voters, if you haven´t seen it, find it and watch it. He is a disgrace and needs to be voted out of office.

The Republican Party has announced Defeat. They support Obamacare by refusing to fight it. They support Amnesty. They continue to mock and undermine the base. But they want your money and vote.

For several years I believed that I was, as a Republican, part of a group that wanted to see America grow and prosper while protecting its citizens and engaging in world affairs. I see now that I have been mere fodder for others. They do not share the rewards of victory. Once elected our voice is irrelevant till the next election. I have simple propped others up to better only themselves.

Forget about a fence around Boehner. He is the Republican Party. The better plan is too emasculate the Party completely and withhold all funding and donations. By giving to them you are simply enriching others and hurting yourself.

Sorry, #6, I totally disagree with you. If you don´t support Republicans you get another Obama! Our country can´t survive another Democrat majority and president. We MUST support Republicans who will turn this country around. Yes, most are conservatives and yes, a lot are supported by Tea Parties. Give your support and money to them. Eventually, we will cull out the Moderates like Boehner and will have enough conservatives like Cruz who aren´t afraid to step on toes and throw dirt back in the dirt thrower´s faces! We can win these upcoming elections. We just need to support the RIGHT candidates (which does not include someone like Jeb Bush)!

A dose of reality at last. First lets talk fair. There are tons of people who apply to immigrate into this country every year. They fill out the paperwork and wait. They follow the rules.

Then there are the illegal border crossers who jump the line so to speak. That makes them criminals and when caught, they should be deported. This is a law enforcement problem, it shouldn´t be a political problem.

These criminals bring disease and smuggle drugs into this country. There shouldn´t be any arguments about deporting them, since there shouldn´t be any varieties of criminal activity when invading a country. It is illegal period.

When they get here, they get free services. That is stealing from tax paying citizens. They work in the underground market and don´t pay taxes. We have to report our income each year or pay penalties or even be jailed.

What don´t politicians understand about this problem. These people who enter illegally are criminals. Politicians who fail to enforce the immigration laws are criminals. Don´t talk about passing new laws to ´solve´ the problem. Politicians are the problem. Also you can´t erase years of political neglect with a whitewash of your own inactivity.

Boehner and the Democrats he schemes with must all be kicked out of office and all illegal criminals must be deported. Don´t do it and face the consequences yourself.

This is life under a one party system. The republicans are at best democrat lite. Would our life be any worse if the democrats had the house. At least with Pelosi you know what you are going to get, with Boehner not so much. I think the republicans want to go back to the good old days where they were a permeant minority party but they could play golf with the democrats. They are probably going to get their wish.

Maybe the GOP is becoming Democrat Lite (starting at least as far back with big-government-loving George W Bush!) - but the Democrats are becoming almost Stalinist in their desire for government interference into every aspect of our lives. Call it "Stalin-Lite".

The only strategy I see going forward is to put the GOP in control of Congress and work toward making sure the majority of those Pubbies are conservative. (I think that the majority of GOP members are conservative right now - but the current leadership seems too devoted to big donors like the C of C crowd). This balance seems to exist already in the House, where establishment GOPs and Dem possibly have enough votes to pass McCain´s amnesty, but the GOP quorum within the House is solidly against it so it is blocked - for now.

#6 is right; #8 and the others are wrong. When your house has been totally infested with termites and the structure destroyed, you must tear it down. Refusing to do so only postpones the inevitable.

So it is with the GOP. Denying the RINO infestation and dutifully voting to keep the evil Democrats away only postpones what must be done. RINOs and their deep-pocketed backers, like termites, simply do not go away by themselves. Fumigation has failed. 1964 followed by 1968 and 1980 followed by 1988 have proved that. They may go away for an election cycle or two, but they will be back.

There is only one proper solution. Once the structure has been weakened, you must tear down the house and replace it. It will be costly, it will be inconvenient, but there is no alternative.

Otherwise, what is accomplished by simply sitting back with folded arms watching everything collapse? I´m pretty sure you care about the country and its fate. Is there not a single candidate, congressman or woman, existing officeholder that you can support? I hope I´m wrong.

Let´s turn that question around: Why should we continue to vote for GOP leaders who openly mock and deride us. I´ve been doing my part. I´ve been voting Republican for decades, and what we´ve been doing is not working. So let´s try this for a change: You name the GOP incumbents that you will work with us to replace with conservative alternatives. Let´s start there. You have so many GOP hacks to choose from, it should be easy.

How about ditching Mitch, #17? Or do we need to read more posts about Matt Bevin´s resume? If McConnell survives the general, will you help us replace him with a real leader in the Senate? Any chance of helping us find an effective Speaker to replace John Boehner? Last time I asked, there was a lot of hemming and hawing but no actual naming. Almost makes one wonder.

Let the fine tuning begin.

Sarah Palin and John Boehner should kiss and make up. They owe it to the country, no matter how uncomfortable the idea makes them or us feel! Palin is the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate who has become a Tea Party maverick, and Boehner is the Republican speaker of the House who is a GOP establishment dinosaur. Last week the battle lines were clearly drawn between these two camps of the Republican Party. Palin called for the impeachment of President Obama, in particular because of his abdication of responsibility for defending our southern border. Boehner, on the other

There is a name for what the government did to the Washington Redskins last week. It is called extortion. Extortion, as defined by Merriam-Webster’s, is the crime of getting money from someone by the use of force or threats. I much prefer the definition in the 1828 dictionary compiled by Noah Webster himself: “The act or practice of wresting any thing from a person by force, duress, menaces, authority, or by any undue exercise.” You probably heard the story about how the U.S. Office of Patents and Trademarks has canceled the Redskins’ trademark on the team name because the team’s
