Cliven Bundy Delenda Est
American Thinker, by Clarice Feldman

Original Article

Posted By:real fifi, 4/27/2014 7:56:18 AM

During the Punic Wars Cato and other notable Romans argued that Carthago Delenda Est, that is, Carthage must be destroyed. Substitute sympathetic ordinary Americans, like Cliven Bundy, Joe the Plumber, and the superbly talented Sarah Palin for Carthage, and you have the rallying cry of the Democrats and their media enablers who will use any pretext to demonize those who dare to challenge their power.

Comments:
Any sympathetic American who goes against the Democrat-leftist tide will be tarred and feathered as has Bundy--with doctored quotes , in his case--and his putative allies flee, making this Alinsky tactic always a winner. Stop doing this!

As usual, Clarice Feldman sees beyond the "Squirrel! Squirrel!" distraction of the leftist media to see the truth. The only real "racists" are those who play the race card to destroy others and gain political power.

Cliven Bundy owes Clarice Feldman an enormous debt of gratitude for painstakingly deciphering his clumsy, poorly chosen words today in her fearless Sunday column. “Clarice’s Pieces” have never been sweeter and more nutritious.

Quoting myself from two days ago:

“Is Cliven Bundy a racist? I don’t know. But, I do know he’s an awkward, ungainly, inept verbal rambler and the clumsiest public speaker I’ve ever heard in my life. Is Negro a bad word? Apparently the United Negro College Fund doesn’t think so. Is Colored a bad word? Apparently the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People doesn’t think so. Are people who say “people of color” not simultaneously saying “colored people” as well, or is there a difference? I’m not ready to pile on the Benighted Bundy Bandwagon quite yet.”

To those shallow thinkers who immediately condemned Bundy at his very mention of the words negro and colored, it’s time for them to walk back their kneejerk critiques.

Clarice has hit the nail on the head. Why do our representatives have to be perfect in every way, while theirs can say or do whatever they want and get a pass on it because they are liberal? I´m done making excuses for the holier-than-thou liberals. It would be one thing if their pretentious world view actually worked, but it doesn´t.

Looks like Bernie Goldberg of Fox is on the Alinsky train, giving head out the window shout outs to the anti-Bundy crowd. Even if Bundy did/said something racist, what difference does it make? What bearing does that have on Feds´ land grab? Objectively it is untelated.

Fox has flipped in so many ways, so goodbye: O´Reilly, Goldberg, Van Suster , Kelly, the new annoying buffoon on Sunday morning. The whole network is rapidly closing on being on my no-watch list: compromised and apparently infiltrated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Clarice Feldman! Living within a hundred miles of the Cliven ranch, I´ve been horrified at the coverage of Mr. Bundy´s situation, and most especially his statements regarding what he considers mistreatment by our government of the ´negro´ family. Apparently he has admiration for the work ethic and cohesion of Mexican families too, leading one to believe he´s worried about government subsidies for them as well.

Taking words out of context and maliciously slandering their opponents is the only thing the left does efficiently and predictably.
However, what I´ve found most disgusting has been listening to the usual crowd of righties - in typical Pavlov´s dog mode - react to Mr. Cliven´s inarticulate comments with uber self-righteous indignation. They never once investigated the FULL context of the old gentleman´s comments and fell again into the left´s well-greased trap.

Will they ever learn...

Clarice is right on. They´re even roundly condemning Bundy on Fox. The band wagon effect is at full throttle. If Bundy hadn´t used the hot button phrase in referring to out of work blacks that "they never learned how to pick cotton" which is right up there on the offense meter with mentioning fried chicken or watermelon when talking about blacks and food, nothing he said, taken in context, could have been construed as racist.

What they really should have been talking about is his question about whether blacks on government welfare live (relative to their times) better or worse than did slaves on the plantation. It´s not for no reason that blacks on welfare are often referred to as living on the government plantation.

Let me direct you to Mark Steyn´s "How Now White Cowman?" at SteynOnline last Friday. An excellent adjunct to Ms. Feldman´s outstanding and well-developed article (as usual). A quote from Steyn: "...if what the BLM is doing is wrong, the fact that Bundy is a racist sexist homophobe doesn´t make it right...."

When you actually do a little research and don´t believe you have to be the first one in front of a camera condemning that "racist moron," or whatever Glenn Beck, Hannity, and other desert-the-ship people are calling Mr. Bundy, you might actually come up with an excellent piece such as this one. On second thought, probably they could never be as intelligent and fair as Ms Feldman.

Ben Franklin opined that there was nothing certain but death and taxes. I’d add a third to the list of certainties, anti-Semitism, and this week reminds us of that. As Americans struggled with preposterously complex federal income tax regulations and ever-higher tax burdens, the Washington Examiner’s Timothy P. Carney tweeted “That’s the price we pay for 7 of the 10 richest counties being within commuting distance of DC.” Right he is. As the rest of the country struggles to keep on producing -- cattle, grain, merchandise, services -- hamstrung by ever more regulations and executive and judicial branch overreaching, DC

It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it. Democrats hope to retain control of the Senate and recapture the House by driving

This week the indictment and arrests of leading San Francisco and California Democrat politicians follows a long string of corruption cases involving prominent Democrats. It brings to mind the ridiculous charges by Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (echoing Howard Dean) that the Republicans were responsible for a “culture of corruption” and that she, a woman, was going to sweep the Congress clean of it. Included in her litany of things charged as corrupt was the Medicare Prescription Drug Bill which she attacked in a press release and privileged resolution on December 8, 2005:

In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
