Interview: Megyn Kelly Reacts
to Making the ´Time 100´

Fox News, by Staff

Megyn Kelly shared some great news with us on Fox and Friends this morning, as Time Magazine named her one of its 100 Most Influential People. Kelly is listed in the "Pioneers" section of the list, with longtime Fox News colleague Brit Hume providing the write-up. Under the headline, "an authoritative force in cable news," Hume wrote: Ten years ago, my wife Kim, then Fox News’ Washington bureau chief, walked into my office carrying a videocassette. “You have got to see this,” Kim said. It was the audition tape of a local TV reporter then named Megyn Kendall. She was a lawyer and new to the business, but her tape displayed as

Comments:
It´s surprising that someone from Fox actually made it. Kelly is humble and gracious in her interview.

This would have been important several decades ago when Time still had a veneer of respectability.

Megyn deserves better than this.

Will be interesting to see if she moderates her style to stay in her newly-found favor with the MFM.

Time is a liberal rag holding on by a thread. Nobody buys it or reads it except the families of those 100, I think. The feminist bias (snark really) that Megyn injects when talking about certain subjects (which has definitely grown more pronounced lately) turns me off. When she did it yesterday, I decided I am now in the don´t watch anymore camp. Congratulations to her as she is obviously very happy about it.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I think of Kelly as about average. She´s no great shakes.

My issue with her is she gets shaken and personal whenever anyone expresses a thought that women are different than men, or that men can do some jobs better than women, or the idea that maybe, just maybe, a stay-at-home mom plays just as important a role as, well, maybe the host of a news show. All these things are true, and I find it irritating when someone takes offense as if its all personal.

Her huffiness is unprofessional.

I´m sorry (not really) but you can firmly put me in the camp that doesn´t like Kelly or her new show on Fox. It is because of how #s 4 and 7 describe her. Guests now know what subjects will rattle Meg´s cage and she´s slowly becoming like Bill O´Reilly. Boorish and unwatchable. Also Time Magazine is only remotely looked at when I visit the dentist or doctor. They have the other leftwing rags scattered about like Newsweek, Rolling Stone and Cosmopolitan. All unworthy of being birdcage liner much less being read.

Sen. It was one of the biggest stories in politics this week, but Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran appears unaware that House majority leader lost his GOP primary in Virginia on Tuesday. In a video posted online by Fox News, an interviewer asked the senator – locked in a competitive runoff — if he was concerned about what happened in Virginia. The incumbent senator replied, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. What happened in Virginia?” Cochran – who has said multiple times that he doesn’t know much about the tea party – is being challenged on the right from state Sen.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Foreign Policy’s Shane Harris reports that one reason that the White House has been caught flat-footed by the stunning collapse in Iraq is that the US intelligence community didn’t see the threat coming from ISIS. But is that the intelligence community’s fault — or just the inevitable outcome of total withdrawal? United States intelligence agencies were caught by surprise when fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) seized two major Iraqi cities this week and sent Iraqi defense forces fleeing, current and former U.S. officials said Thursday. If anyone was in any doubt about the dramatic decline that has taken place in American power and influence during the presidency of Obama, they should consider the hopeless position the White House now finds itself in as it watches the takeover of large swathes of Iraq by jihadist militants. The Islamic State of Iraq and greater Syria (ISIS) is shredding Iraq. After seizing the northern city of Mosul on Monday, on Tuesday ISIS stormed down Iraq’s route 1 highway to take Tikrit. This victory has left them emboldened and only 110 miles from Baghdad. He knew that Iraq’s collapse might enable Al-Qaeda in Iraq to rip the Middle East apart. And today Al-Qaeda in Iraq’s successor--ISIS--have never been closer to their dream.
