NBC´s Cognitive Dissonant
Hack Syndrome

I´ve always thought entrenched left-wing journalists in Washington needed their heads examined. Much to my satisfaction, it appears the corporate media bosses of at least one Beltway anchor now agree. According to The Washington Post this week, NBC News hired a "psychological consultant" to examine why flailing "Meet the Press" moderator David Gregory has been bombing in the ratings. The overpriced shrinks (NBC prefers the euphemism "brand consultants") came from the New York-based brand fixer-upper Elastic Strategy. They interviewed Gregory´s wife. They interrogated his friends. They crunched their numbers. They compiled their reports. And after all that, the "experts" are

Comments:
Most of us are in agreement here, that we liked Tim Russert, and we would watch MTP occasionally; but we can´t stand that weasel Gregory.

Katie Couric gets fired every time she bombs, why hasn`t Gregory gotten the axe?

Tim Russert had his staff do extensive reviews of past comments made by guests, and if there were inconsistencies, Tim would challenge the guest, using the tapes.
He was interesting.
Gregory is a snarky punk, in the style of David Letterman. In fact, when connie chung would appear on letterman, and break walnuts with her hand, she was more interesting than Gregory on MTP. And connie is a dim bulb.

FTA:"Since Gregory doesn´t have the intellectual heft to carry in-depth interview segments the way Russert did, "Meet the Press" producers have reduced substantive exchanges to a few minutes and larded the rest of the show with fluff and stunts."

Oucchhhhhh! That´s gonna leave a mark. Michelle sure spanks hard for such a tiny little thing.

Russert was no bargain. On camera I don´t think there is much difference between Russert and Gregory, if anything Gregory is nicer. I couldn´t watch Russert either. Maybe he was nicer off-camera, but Russert´s on-camera manner was rude and crude.

I can´t watch *any* of the Sunday morning shows anymore, Chris Wallace has always been a waterhead and Fox overall has drifted left over the last few years. I usually turn on ABC´s Stephanpolouza, but the last couple of years I can´t make it to the end.

Gregory is only doing what NBC demands of him, I doubt anyone can do it better. NBC is the problem and nobody is going to do much better than Gregory, from what little I´ve seen of him, unless the network changes majorly.

Michelle would take the show beyond any ratings ever if ratings were the objective! Socialist agenda will die of it´s own lie!

Military Bases: Obama´s New
Illegal Alien Dumping Grounds

A source tipped me off last week to a curious occurrence: It seems that two planeloads of illegal aliens were recently shipped to Massachusetts. The first reportedly landed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford. According to my tipster, approximately 160 illegal immigrants arrived on that flight and stayed nearly a week before being transferred to a Department of Homeland Security site and then released. The second flight reportedly was diverted from Hanscom to Boston´s Logan Airport this past weekend. I am told that both Massachusetts and New Hampshire officials were on hand. I reached out to Hanscom AFB for

Zanesville -- Every two weeks, an Ohio man drives 4,200 miles to save unwanted dogs from overpopulated shelters in the South, packs them up in a semitrailer and finds them loving homes in the northeastern United States. Greg Mahle, 51, begins the five-day journey in his Zanesville hometown in eastern Ohio and drives down to Houston. He picks up about 80 dogs there and at stops in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Tennessee. He then takes them to pre-arranged homes in states including Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Vermont. Mahle estimates that he and his Rescue Road Trips company

The Obama administration once again has punted on a final decision for the Keystone XL pipeline, announcing ahead of the holiday weekend that it is extending a key review period indefinitely -- a move that could push off a determination until after the midterm elections. Republicans, as well as red-state Democrats who want the pipeline approved, slammed the administration for the delay. "It´s absolutely ridiculous that this well over five year long process is continuing for an undetermined amount of time," Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.H., said in a statement. Republican Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry called the decision "shameful," particularly since

Has Nancy Pelosi seen a newspaper lately? (Pro tip, hon: Like the Obamacare monstrosity, you have to read it to find out what´s in it.) I´d love to see her face in the wake of the veritable epidemic of Democratic corruption now sweeping the country. Pelosi´s blink count must be off the charts. I´m going to make it easy on Pelosi and put all of the latest cases in one handy rogue´s gallery reference list. But let´s not be naive. It´s clear to me that the Barack Obama/Eric Holder DOJ is clearing the decks before the midterms. Prediction: The FBI´s

God hates Fred Phelps. I so want to hold up a placard emblazoned with that message and stand yards away from members of Phelps’ family as they grieve the death of their hate-mongering patriarch. But I cannot. Phelps founded the Westboro Baptist Church, a Kansas–based church that spewed homophobic vitriol for decades. While Phelps also hated Jews and an assortment of other minorities, it was his vile diatribes against gays that reached epic proportions. He discovered that by protesting funerals – particularly military funerals – he could get national attention. And he did. He also inflicted pain on the families

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. The massive Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have surprised Hamas and other Palestinian groups. Hamas apparently expected a limited response to the recent rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns. But as the

So just who is in charge in Barack Obama´s White House? ABC´s Jonathan Karl on Tuesday asked White House press secretary why the letter from the White House to Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) inviting him to a meeting with President Obama regarding the Texas border crisis was from Valerie Jarrett. While it´s routine for staff to draft such letters for elected officials, matters of such magnitude and to other elected officials of stature are almost always in the name of the principle. The president´s spokesman, when asked why the letter was from Jarrett rather than the President, said "Valerie spends a

President Obama’s ultimate weakness may be that he believes his own blarney. A year ago, Mr. Obama boasted in a “fireside” Web chat that his “is the most transparent administration in history.” There was not the slightest hint of irony. He may actually believe it. But three-dozen organizations representing newspapermen and other journalists, mostly liberals, beg to differ. In a testy letter to the president on Tuesday, the group decried the “slick non-answers” and cold shoulders they’re getting from Mr. Obama’s representatives, who have restricted access to any information they consider embarrassing to the administration. “The stifling of free expression,” the signers

President Barack Obama does not believe his temporary amnesty program for illegal immigrant children has exacerbated the border crisis even though the number of illegal immigrant kids crossing the border spiked the year after he unilaterally enacted the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012. In fact, Obama thinks programs like DACA and a comprehensive amnesty bill are ways to solve the border crisis. Addressing the press Wednesday after meeting with Texas Governor Rick Perry to discuss the border crisis in Dallas, Obama, when asked if programs like DACA have caused or contributed to the crisis,

Screenwriter James Vanderbilt will make his directorial debut with the film, which will also star Cate Blanchett. Robert Redford has signed on to play Dan Rather in Truth, a film based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power. The book, written by Rather´s producer Mary Mapes, centers on the firestorm that erupted in September of 2004 after Rather reported that George W. Bush had received special treatment while serving in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War, a report that was based on documents that turned out to be forgeries.

Kirsten Powers snapped at Bill O’Reilly tonight after he told her she doesn’t know what she’s talking about on immigration, and told O’Reilly she’s tired of him mocking liberals every day on every single issue just because “they care about people.” Powers argued that O’Reilly’s getting his facts wrong and that immigrants coming to the U.S. back in the day (like the Irish) were poor and uneducated, much like the immigrants O’Reilly is so worried about today. O’Reilly dismissed Powers and told her, “You don’t seem to really know what you’re talking about.” That really set Powers off. “I am

Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008, is advocating the impeachment of President Barack Obama. “It’s time to impeach,” she wrote, “and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.” I am a pretty fierce critic of the president myself, but let me be among the first to say that Republicans would be insane to follow Ms. Palin’s counsel.
