Professor: ‘Colleges Will Start Closing Up’ if
‘Racist, Misogynist, Money-Grubbing’ GOP Wins

National Review Online, by Andrew Johnson

New audio reveals an Eastern Connecticut State University professor warning that Republicans will “want things to go back — not to to 1955, but to 1855? if they win control of Congress in November. Republican victories could also put him out of a job, he cautioned. “We will live in a very, very, very different kind of country if that happens,” Professor Brent Terry told students in his Introduction to Creative Writing course, according to audio obtained by Campus Reform. “I mean, colleges will start closing up if these people have their way.” Over the course of his rant, Terry characterized conservatives

OK, when is some conservative organization going to wage war on the political campaigning in these institutions? There should be lawsuits filed against this practice since they receive government funding. We can use the same arguments that atheists, women’s groups, and the race hustlers do – government funding = no promoting of offensive speech. The heck with his tenure, sue the universities and demand public funding be halted.

It’s time we used the courts. Let´s make it a university matter and make them move their soap boxes off campus like prayer groups have been forced to.

Well that would be a good thing as far as I´m concerned. These leftist professors need to go try and find a job like the rest of us rather than teaching what a racist, misogynist, money-grubbing, horrible, unfair, unequal country America is. Shut down all the "ivy league" schools would be a good start. All they are doing is graduating students who end up believing what obama believes - a bunch of Marxist crap that doesn´t work.

Actually, if lots of so-called colleges closed and more trade schools opened up, it would be very beneficial. These colleges don´t educate, they indoctrinate.

I understand there was much more freedom of thought and expression in colleges and universities in 1895 than there is now.

In fact - there was more freedom of expression and thought in universities in 1295 than there is now!

So the defense is that he has the "academic freedom to conduct their classes in whatever way they choose"? Imagine how quickly the university would have reacted in demanding his dismissal if, instead of characterizing Republicans as " “racist, misogynist, money-grubbing people.” he had insulted Blacks as "racist, lazy, crack-smoking people.”. How long do you think he´d have lasted? The real administration position is that faculty have "freedom to conduct their classes in whatever way WE choose".

Pretty safe call, genius. How long can the brick and mortar university model be maintained? Parents already know that their children are not receiving a quality education and a pathway to good jobs anymore. More and more know their children are being indoctrinated rather than educated by the likes of this "professor." And this, despite the fact that they are spending the family budget into oblivion and beyond. With a number of good options online and a shrinking economy it´s a good bet that many of these second to fourth tier universities will close. And when leftists know something undesirable is going to happen because of them they become proactive and get busy blaming Republicans.

Since the Universities are in the business of creating stupid voters that is great.

The game is Money. The politicians increase grants and the universities increase tuitions. Parents and taxpayers pick up the tab. Because it is a government run op there is no market place. The second angle is grant writing I worked at two universities and talked about education cost with a senior administrator he said universities would rather have a professors who can write grants than a good teacher. Finally Obama has all the student loans going through the government no telling how much the dems are stealing.

Leftists can never get enough of other people´s money. The very thought of having to earn an honest living makes them hysterical.

No government anywhere should be involved in education in any way. Zero out all government education budgets - - defund all the leftists - - and then we´ll have a free and prosperous country.

The rush to a BA degree for everyone had many features of a subsidized religion.

After high school millions disappeared into it for as long as a decade. Young, healthy, and adequately if not lavishly funded by OPM.

Things change. If Americans can´t afford it any longer the colleges will try to woo foreign students. If that isn´t sufficient they will demand more from legislatures. At all times they will lobby for bigger student loans and support such as grants and scholarships, etc.

And as all the above fails the reason is clear; society is in the control of meanies. All of whom are in the GOP.

Let all the liberal professors like Brent Terry howl about the impending implosion of what college education has become in the USA. The current academic bubble is overripe and poised to explode all over it´s creator- the democrat party. Hopefully, what rises from the ashes will be a return to all the things that used to make an American education the envy of the world over.

Claims like that are becoming routine fare for the left during run ups to the election. A couple of months out from election day don´t be surprised to hear reports that Obama and Holder are sending the FBI into the old deep South to investigate as the result of anonymous reports that Republicans and conservatives are burning black churches to the ground. The problem is that low-info voters will believe that crap, and the wimpy Republicans will just remain quite and not refute those bogus claims.

The reluctance of Hamas’s “military wing”—a misnomer for the more extreme elements of its extremist leadership—to accept the cease-fire designed by Egypt is, well, logical. Let’s admit it. They do not wish to accept defeat, and the Egyptian terms are a defeat for Hamas. By attacking Israel, what has Hamas wrought? Considerable damage was done to Gaza by Israeli air power, and Gazans will be picking up the pieces for months if not longer. But Hamas proved unable to kill one single Israeli with its hundreds of rockets, and all its special tricks—tunnels, longer-range rockets, a drone—also failed. Nor could

House Republicans are moving quickly to address the growing humanitarian crisis on the southern border, possibly holding votes as soon as next week. As Congress moves closer to the monthlong August recess, the speedy action sends a clear message to Senate Democrats: Take it or leave it. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), incoming Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and a group of top lawmakers working on the border crisis are set to file a bill that very closely mirrors the legislation crafted by Texas lawmakers Sen. John Cornyn, a Republican, and Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar.

Two of the larger social trends of our time — the growth of payday gambling and the legalization of marijuana — have two things in common: They are justified as the expansion of personal liberty, and they serve the interests of an expanding government. The ideological alliance behind these changes is among the strangest in U.S. politics. Libertarians seek to lift governmental restraints on consensual acts. State governments seek sources of revenue without the political inconvenience of requesting broad tax increases. Both find common ground in encouraging and exploiting the weaknesses and addictions of citizens. (And business interests and their lobbyists,

Obama had resisted the meeting with Perry, as he resisted visiting the border along the Rio Grande. That same consensus also holds that if the GOP does indeed take control, the next two years will be marked by confrontation with the White House and even less actual legislative action than the present Congress has accomplished. To be fair, there is some compelling logic behind these conclusions. President Obama has clearly opted out of the role of governing through legislation. It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
