‘Save the Environment—from the EPA’

Earth Day 2014 arrives today with some environmentalists calling out the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its giant global footprint. “The Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility says the greenhouse gases generated by EPA administrator Gina McCarthy’s week-long, five-city tour will “far exceed” any concrete action on climate change from her travels.” (Fox News, April 22, 2014) “Frenetically jetting around the country appears to undercut [the] EPA’s message to ordinary Americans that they should conserve, consume less and reduce transportation pollution,” national nonprofit environmental group PEER Executive Director Jeff Ruch said in a statement.

Are travel permits in our future? If traveling generates green house gases and is bad for the climate, then we will need to regulate travel. Hence, travel permits.

President Barack Obama has much in common with Robert Bergdahl, father of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, traded for five of the Taliban’s most dangerous terrorists. Both Bergdahl and Obama are active anti-war activists of the anti-American Code Pink stripe. Robert Bergdahl made clear his anti-war activism with a deleted Tweet: “I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners,” the tweet said, according to various screen grabs. The tweet was subsequently deleted. “God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen.”(Washington Post, June 2, 2014) Like Obama, Bergdahl Senior works to free ALL Guantanamo prisoners. Proof is in the deleted Tweet

Marine in Mexican Misery

Since March 31, a United States Marine has been in custody in a Mexican prison. Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi was detained after making a wrong turn near the Mexican border. He told the Mexican police that there was no way to make a U-turn on the road he was traveling, thus he entered Mexican territory by mistake. At the time of his arrest, Tahmooressi was in possession of three legally registered guns. The guns were safely stored in his truck, so the Marine was no reckless lawbreaker trying to commit crimes in Mexico. Tahmooressi told the Mexican authorities about the guns and followed their instructions.

“Will hashtag activism help jailed marine?” asks Fox News commentator Lauren Ashburn. LOL, no! We live in a world of LOL, OMG and the somewhat rude LMAO. Thanks to Facebook, we yearn for instant ‘likes’ rather than finding meaningful ways to earn the respect of others. Twitter ‘s hashtag has already become the preserve of the career politician who uses it as ‘proof’ that they care about the vulnerable plight of the more ordinary. Surely the most obscene hashtag of all is #BringBackOurGirls. Multiple murders by a crazed killer will always generate headlines as they should. The latest occurred on May 23 when a mentally ill young man, Elliot Rodger, killed six and injured thirteen others. Of the six, he stabbed three and used a gun to kill or wound the others. He wasn’t the first to do this and he won’t be the last. These killers of multiple numbers of people all have insanity in common. It’s not about the weapon, it’s about the killer. In the 1940s when I was growing up, I went to a lot of movies in which killing

Although we enjoy deceiving ourselves about how sophisticated today’s American culture is, we no longer even have a scientific society. This means that in the place of careful analysis, unbiased study, or scientific experimentation, meant to purify society with reliable facts—our leaders misuse science as another tool of propaganda to influence public opinion. In case after case, after public opinion has been molded by advocacy groups and politically correct zealots, science is then wheeled out to prop up the resident opinion. The only possible way to explain the outrageous, typically insulting and utterly counterproductive reaction to critics of current

Tea Party voters of America, take heart! Nigel Farage’s Ukip in Britain just went a long way in ridding the oh-so-politically correct David Cameron Tories of 105 of their seats (At press time). And there’s still another day of votes to count. The message? “Dave and Ed just don’t get it: By branding Ukip racists they’re damning millions of decent Britains”-Stephen Glover, Daily Mail, May 22, 2014. Obama comrade, Prime Minister David Cameron, Labour Leader Ed Miliband and Liberal Leader Nick Clegg threw everything but the proverbial kitchen sink at Ukip trying to impact their voter turnout by branding them “racists”.

President Barack Obama’s Veteran Affairs scandal protestations that he’s as mad as hell and ain’t going to take it anymore is like his first baseball tosses: totally ornamental. Does Obama, a lifetime legend in his own mind, really think that verbalizing his anger will make the Veterans Affairs scandal go away? Following up his effusive “I’m mad” protestations, Obama vowed to “fix whatever is wrong” at the agency, while refusing to throw VA Secretary Eric Shinseki under his well populated bus. Obama described Shinseki as a “great soldier” who has “put his heart and soul into this thing”. “This thing” is the deaths of

Climate change fundamentalists are predicting an apocalypse. Human depredation in the form of unbridled materialism is the cause. Any dissent from the fundamentalists’ doomsday prophesies if their radical prescriptions to save humanity and Mother Earth are not followed is regarded as heresy. Hillary Clinton wasn’t the only Obama administration official who went to bat for Boko Haram over the past few years. Soon after John Kerry took over as Secretary of State, the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Terence P. McCulley, accused the Nigerian government of butchery during a confrontation with Boko Haram terrorists in Baga, a Nigerian town on the shores of Lake Chad, and in May 2013 threatened to withdraw U.S. military aid from the West African nation. Boko Haram militants attacked a Nigerian military outpost in April 2013 outside Baga, killing one soldier. Following the three-day battle human rights activists,

When Bob Bergdahl launched in Arabic, invoking Allah while standing next to President Obama in the White House Rose Garden, a number of Americans were startled. (snip) I am not knowledgeable enough to judge the claim of sanctifying the White House and claiming it for Islam, but I place a lot of stick in watching nonverbal cues, people’s quick reactions. And so, when our friends at iOwnTheWorld.com captured and enlarged President Obama’s reaction to Bergdahl’s invocation of Allah, it hit me hard. Susan Rice has done it again. Defending the deal that freed Sgt Bowe Bergdahl from the Taliban, the national security adviser declared that Bergdahl had "served the United States with honour and distinction". [Snip] In the US military, walking off post isn´t regarded positively. Moreover, as I noted yesterday, Bergdahl´s unit--1st Battalion, the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment--lost seven men during its 2009-10 deployment. Parachute units like the 501st take great pride in their elite status within the military. Five years ago, I publicly raised questions about Bowe Bergdahl’s desertion from Blackfoot Company, 1-501 Infantry (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division. A few weeks after his so-called “capture” in late June 2009, three conflicting accounts had surfaced: U.S. officials told the Associated Press Bergdahl had “walked off” the base with three Afghans; the Taliban claimed on its website that “a drunken American soldier had come out of his garrison” and into their arms; and Bergdahl claimed in his Taliban “hostage video” that he had “lagged behind a patrol” before being captured. Des Moines, IA - State Sen. Joni Ernst has won the Republican primary for an Iowa U.S. Senate seat held for 30 years by retiring Democrat Tom Harkin. The 43-year-old Ernst won the nomination over five candidates. She´ll face Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley in the November general election. All the Republicans seeking the nomination described themselves as deeply conservative, but Ernst managed to stand out in part due to two television ads. One featured her on a farm, talking about her experience castrating hogs, and the other showed her firing a handgun. Ernst also received endorsements from a variety of groups and individuals,

From the moment the father of Bowe Bergdahl took the stage with President Barack Obama, it was clear the Bergdahls were not an average US military family. Sporting a long, bushy beard that he refused to trim since his son went missing in 2009, Bob Bergdahl spoke Pashto, Afghanistan´s main language, and also a few words of Arabic at the White House press conference announcing his son´s release. President Obama betrayed the highest obligation of his office — safeguarding national security — in trading five hard-core Taliban for the American serviceman who appears to have deserted in Afghanistan. The five sworn enemies of the United States are now in the Gulf state of Qatar, where they are free to come and go as they like, beyond the watch of American agents. In just one year, they will be free to return to Afghanistan to fight there and stage terror attacks far beyond that country’s borders.

Bill Clinton´s critics in Arkansas used to say that he would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth. In other words, Clinton would lie when the truth would do -- and when telling the truth would be easier. The saying might apply to the Obama administration´s public statements about Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier released from captivity in Afghanistan in a trade for five Taliban commanders held at Guantanamo Bay. There is substantial evidence to suggest that Bergdahl abandoned his post in 2009 -- he went AWOL, he deserted, whatever

Acting as commander-in-chief, President Obama exchanged five terrorist leaders for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. The rationale was that the United States leaves no soldier behind on the battlefield or in enemy hands. That is half of the equation. The disconcerting other half is that Bergdahl may have left behind his own unit and gone over to the enemy. In 2009, then Pvt. Bergdahl (automatically promoted in absentia to the rank of sergeant) left his frontline unit under the cover of darkness. Soon after, the Taliban reported him in their custody.
