Seriously? We´re sending 600 troops and they think Putin will back down?

I love our military but 600 of them against the Russian military is like sending them on a suicide mission.

Why don´t we have a couple of B52´s loaded with cruise missiles patroling the eastern border of Ukraine?

Why do we spend a fortune on the military if we only send a unit the size of the average town´s police force to a country 500 miles away from the theater of action?

Two New York men are suing the New Jersey Lottery after they threw out a Powerball ticket worth $1 million. Salvatore Cambria and Erick Onyango, of Suffern, New York, argue in their federal lawsuit that the lottery didn´t quickly update its website with the winning numbers from the March 23 drawing. Cambria tells The Record newspaper he asked Onyango to check the website soon after the 11 p.m. drawing. Cambria tossed the ticket when the numbers didn´t match. The men now think the site was showing the previous drawing´s numbers. They say they realized they had won the next day.

San Diego-Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn has died of cancer at 54. Gwynn´s sweet left-handed swing made him one of San Diego´s best-loved athletes. He was nicknamed ´´Mr. Padre´´ during his 20-year major league career. He had been on a medical leave from his job as baseball coach at San Diego State, his alma mater, since late March. Agent John Boggs said Gwynn died Monday in suburban Poway. Gwynn had two operations for cancer in his right cheek between August 2010 and February 2012. One of the five Taliban leaders freed from Guantanamo Bay in return for Sgt. "After arriving in Qatar, Noorullah Noori kept insisting he would go to Afghanistan and fight American forces there,” a Taliban commander told NBC News via telephone from Afghanistan. Noori pushed to return to Afghanistan after learning that the U.S. had provided written assurances that no country would arrest any of the five freed for a year as long as they lived peacefully, one of his relatives

Sgt. Bergdahl’s medical condition was described as “stable and improving daily.” The spokesman, Col. Steve Warren, would not elaborate on the psychologists’ work. Obama administration officials have said that Bergdahl’s health was deteriorating rapidly, forcing them to move quickly in making a deal with the Taliban to secure his release after five years in captivity.

For Democratic lawmakers who were hesitant to sign onto the sweeping 2010 health care law, one of the most powerful selling points was that the Affordable Care Act would actually reduce the federal budget deficit, despite the additional costs of extending health insurance coverage to the uninsured. Four years after enactment of what is widely viewed as President Barack Obama’s key legislative achievement, however, it’s unclear whether the health care law is still on track to reduce the deficit or whether it may actually end up adding to the federal debt. In fact, the answer to that question has become

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

The waves of rockets from Gaza and IDF retaliations have picked up since the teens were kidnapped and the Israeli crackdown began. Hamas has not claimed responsibility for launching the rockets but Israel holds them responsible for everything coming out of Gaza. The Israel Defense

The threat of them was an infuriating and exhilarating specter throughout the weekend, a symbol of the oppression facing the men’s rights activists who had gathered to meet for their inaugural conference. Early Friday before the opening session, a wispy trail of men — mostly white, college-through-retirement-age — waited for the doors to open outside of this Veterans of Foreign Wars outpost in suburban Detroit. One man talked about his ex-wife. A lot of guys talked about their ex-wives.
