Jeb Bush Pushes Amnesty, More High-

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Tony Lee

At a prominent conference of education innovators, Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who is considering a 2016 presidential run, called for more guest worker programs and a path to amnesty for all of the country´s illegal immigrants. Speaking at what is known as the "Davos in the Desert" event in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Monday evening, Bush said the United States needed "robust guest worker programs" and an expansion of H1-B visas for the high-tech industry," even though the notion that there is a shortage of American high-tech workers has been called a myth. He also called for a "tough but

And he tries to convince us he´s not running? Why else would he make all these outrageous comments on immigration that the establishment Republicans love. I´m really getting concerned about who will be our nominee.

Jeb needs to get a job somewhere far away from Washington. We need new, fresh faces in the Republican party.

A guest worker policy for specific areas of need, -strictly monitored & efficiently controlled, would again certainly be a benefit to this country as has been proved in the past with the Bracero Program of decades ago, but yet ANOTHER, ´´amnesty for lawbreakers,´´ is contrary to respect for America´s Rule of Law, ESPECIALLY since that amnesty in the 1980´s was promised to be the LAST ONE!!! ..Too many politician´s lies!

Myth or not, this country needs more H1-B visas to bring in educated, skilled people who will make this country better...not uneducated, unskilled people to work in hotels and on landscaping crews.

to take issue with post #3 above, the "benefits" of an expanded H1-B program are sometimes hard to see. Ask any of a number of us -- I´m one -- who have seen job openings closed to American engineers; much more "efficient" to hire Pakistani, Hindu, or ChiCom personnel at a MUCH lower rate. Ignoring for a moment things like espionage, both industrial and national security types. Keep the few American positions for "diversity candidates", the "left-handed Lebanese lesbians". Meaning that white American males who don´t wear skirts need not apply. Been there.
Then complain about so few in STEM programs.

Re Jeb: my complete assessment of him and his position on this and several other issues would get me banned from this delightful salon. I will *never* ever ever vote for him, or any other member of that RICO-gang.

The High-tech "plantation owners" want the Visa program because it requires the holder to work as an indentured servant - and then at the end of the contract instead of being granted a relief from servitude and a job at a real market wage the holder is obliged to return to his country of origin.

If our nation´s goal was to attract the best and the brightest to permanently fill these slots we would adopt a skill-point immigration system rather than the current system that seems to reward relatives no matter how pathetic those relatives may be. Allowing skilled folks to immigrate (permanently) would not be in the interest of Bill Gates et al as these newcomers would get to pick and choose among all job openings - and not be obliged to work only for some leash holder - uh I mean visa sponsor.

So these visas are not really good for anyone except the Bill Gates types - if the alternative was truly a points-based skilled immigration system. The visa holders have to work only for the sponsor at what has to be realistically considered well-below market wages. Natives find their job opportunities diminished in having to compete with this temporary semi-slave labor.

Guest worker programs are perhaps not as odious but they still kill off the native workers. But that´s OK, the Bush´s of the world want those unemployed America to instead enjoy the benefits of both Compassionate Conservatism and all those new Obama-nation government programs.

Until we stop conflating any kind of immigration reform with "amnesty", nothing can be done. Jeb Bush is not "push"ing Amnesty, although it suits Tony Lee to phrase it that way. No one is advocating citizenship except behind the ones who are already working toward it. No one is advocating anything except getting everyone who is here into a database for evaluation, that being done with a strict time limit to get registered. Unless any of you know how it is physically possible to locate 15 million illegals (who are hiding from that location), put them in a holding facility and then sending them home, we have to consider other means of getting control. Yes, border security is primary, but that is really a different issue.

Amnesty is an obsolete political concept that encourages more mass uncontrolled illegal immigration on into the future. History shows that. If the government really wants to solve the illegal alien problem they will ditch any thoughts of another big amnesty.

Bush, who is connected with big business both here and in Mexico, is on a mission to flood the US labor market with cheap foreign labor, not only at the lower earning jobs but right up through high technology jobs. For every foreign laborer who in in-sourced into an American job, there is one more unemployed American.

Why should American workers ever vote for this Bush, as his platform is to take their jobs away and replace them with cheap foreign labor. Now is that an "act of love"?
