Jeb Bush is your only chance
against Hillary, Republicans

Hot Air, by Bob Schrum

Original Article

Posted By:quantumman, 4/22/2014 6:32:54 AM

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Comments:
Schrum is a Dim of the first order. Jeb will be pushed on us by the Dims in the same fashion that they pushed McCain and Romney on us until each was nominated. Then the long knives in the MSM were unsheathed.

Really? Like Bob Dole? Like John McPain? I´d like to have some of whatever Mr. Schmidt is smoking. Sounds like a good reason why we lost.

Not in 2012. That year 4,000,000 Republican voters stayed home because they simply could not vote for another RINO. The 2008 election was the last time they did that and they vowed ´never again!´

I notice the usual line about how candidate X will certainly have all the money he needs to beat the opponent. This line turned out to be a massive lie about Romney--on par with Obama´s You can keep your doctor. Romney refused to spend any of his famous millions on his campaign in 2012 when it desperately needed it. His consultants freely admitted at the time that he just didn´t have the money to compete for a few months when Obama was up on Spanish radio with Spanish ads that were particularly nasty about Romney. RNC guys said they couldn´t answer back because they didn´t have the money, had to wait til after the convention. Then Romney took large amounts of time off from the campaign trail in the stretch, Sept. and after, just to raise money from fat cats to pay bills. He was desperately needed in swing states, he knew it, but wouldn´t use his own money for the campaign. The money they talk about isn´t for winning, it´s to pay the RNC election cartel which made $1 billion from Romney´s loss. Our hopes and dreams for 2014 and 2016 are already in the hands of these same people. After the election it came out that Romney never wanted to run, would´ve quit the day before if he could have, and is now loving his new career which is to once and for all silence conservatives. His son Josh has even been floated as a candidate ´from the left´ to get rid of our beloved Utah Tea Party Sen. Mike Lee.

Here´s a summary of the advice the dims have fpr saving the GOP:

1. Amnesty for Illegals -- without this the GOP is dead.

2. Jeb Bush for 2016 -- no hope of winning otherwise.

3. End debate on Obamacare -- its a huge success and people love it.

Thanks dims! What would we do without your advice?

I agree with poster 10, even though I disagree with Republicans who stayed home in 2012 rather than vote for Romney. But if jeb bush is nominated in 2016, the GOP has no chance. And Mitt Romney can´t win in 2016 for the same reasons he lost in 2012. The sooner the play nice wing of the GOP comes to grips with reality the better.

In some ways, the losses of McCain and Romney did work out well. I did not stay home, I worked for and voted for both while holding my nose. I will not do that again.

As a result of those losses the rank and file GOP is in full rebellion, and hopefully we get something other than Dem-lite as a candidate.

Otherwise, the GOP will officially be over. At that point, three or four posters on this site will constitute the entire base of the party.

Personal Pique, my foot - try Principled Conviction.

Most of us here knew that Romney, as wonderful a person as he is (and his family too) was the wrong person to lead the GOP to victory. He fortified the Dem/Prog stereotype of disengaged wealth and privilege, and he wanted to play nice rather than meet the enemy head-on. Yet we still voted for him because the alternative was unthinkable.

If the establishment would put aside their own pique and prejudice against true Conservatism, we would have a strong party capable of defeating the Dems in local, state and federal contests. But for some folks, support for unfettered abortion rights trumps all else. Very sad.

And, please, dear God, give our new President a wife with class and who will restore the WH with history and grace and who has an appropriate sense of style and won´t be spending our tax dollars on mega-million dollar jaunts that have no purpose.

It´s "pique" if we don´t like their candidate, because they are the reasonable ones. LOL. Is it reasonable to promote a candidate that your party BASE does not like? The reason Obama won TWICE is that he appealed to his base, and they turned out. There is a lesson there for the GOP if they aren´t too stupid to see it. Every. Single. Time. A. Moderate. GOP. Candidate. Runs. He. Loses. Dole, McCain, and Romney. Maybe the third time is a charm? If so, no Jebs, Cristies, etc. Note to GOP - be reasonable this time.

#13, let´s not let it get that far in the first place!! This fool is suggesting that Jeb win the primaries and become our candidate. We are saying "heck no!" That is NOT the same as if we are stuck with him after the primaries and he is our candidate and the only other option is Hillary. Nobody would be in their right mind to stay home and not vote during primaries unless they just don´t care what happens to the country or themselves.

I really am so tired of the Demonrats and the establishment GOP (who might as well be part of the Demonrat Party) choosing OUR candidates for us. WE THE PEOPLE need to choose our candidate--no one else!!

The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
