AUSTIN — Documents related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency, Travis County officials say. It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection with its look into tollway agency operations. The Travis County district attorney’s office said last month that details from its review of a 2012 complaint that a rival filed about Davis’ legal and political activities were “the subject of an open investigation” by the

Not to worry. Wendy Davis is closer right now to residing in the Governor´s Mansion than she will be on the day after Election Day. It´s just not going to happen. It´s not going to be even close to happening.

LOS ANGELES — The president of the nation´s second-largest teachers union said Friday that President Barack Obama´s education chief has turned his back on the concerns of educators and parents, but she stopped short of calling for his ouster. Teachers unions have been clashing with the Obama administration over its support for charter schools and its push to use student test scores as part of teacher evaluations, a relationship that further frayed after Education Secretary Arne Duncan spoke in support of a California judge´s ruling last month that struck down tenure and other job protections for the state´s public school

WASHINGTON - New enrollments in Obamacare´s Medicaid expansion and other healthcare programs for the poor have reached 6.7 million people since the launch of President Barack Obama´s healthcare reforms last year, the administration said on Friday. The figures, which include state Medicaid plans that existed before Obamacare and the Children´s Health Insurance Program, show enrollment climbing by 920,000 people during May, the latest month for which data is available. All told, new enrollments are up 11.4 percent since last October´s Obamacare rollout. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said an internal probe found multiple failures by individual scientists and a lack of agency-wide safety policies led to the potential exposure of more than 80 lab workers to live anthrax at its Atlanta campus last month. Researchers in a high-security bioterror lab sent samples of what they thought were inactivated bacteria to colleagues in

By obfuscating terminology liberals sometimes can be heard to claim that President Obama has deported more illegal aliens than any previous president. NOT TRUE. There are two types of border enforcement actions: “Returns” and “Removals”. “Returns” are those stopped at the border and sent immediately back; the ones caught. “Removals” are those who get through the border and are caught later on. No previous administration has counted “returns” as deported, until Obama. What Obama is doing is counting those who are stopped at the border, the “returns”, as deported.

Sarah Palin wants to impeach Barack Obama. In an op-ed article published last week, the former Republican vice presidential nominee declared that the crisis on the southern border (where young illegal immigrants are being detained) "is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ´No, mas´." The Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, thinks that´s loco. (Technically, he said, "I disagree".)
