Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s

They opposed Hcare because at the time they opposed the Great Horny One over something else. But though he was the First Black Prez, Billy Boy really was white. Ole, Burrocky, he black. To oppose Burrocky, that make you automatically a raciss. Joey and Johnny, they know how the game be played.

Being Democrats, both Biden and Kerry are by definition brilliant and compassionate. But to be the author of Hillarycare shows that the Smartest Woman in the World was even more brilliant and even more compassionate than either Biden or Kerry, who, of course, are incredibly brilliant and compassionate because they are Democrats. This - The Smartest Woman in the World being so far ahead of her time and so concerned about helping people - might be too much for us average people to cope with, but I´m sure the MSM will help us understand it all.

President Obama in Poland on Tuesday said his administration had “consulted with Congress for quite some time about the possibility” of a deal for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, hitting back at GOP critics who say he broke the law in swapping five Guantanamo Bay detainees for the American prisoner of war. “The United States has always had a pretty sacred rule, and that is, we don’t leave our men or women in uniform behind,” Obama said at a press conference in Poland. Obama´s trip is meant to reassure skittish allies of the U.S. commitment to deterring Russian aggression in Eastern Europe -- he

DOHA – Qatar has moved five Afghan Taliban prisoners freed in exchange for a U.S. soldier to a residential compound and will let them move freely in the country, a senior Gulf official said on Tuesday, a step likely to be scrutinized by Washington. U.S. officials have referred to the release of the Islamist militants as a transfer and said they would be subject to certain restrictions in Qatar. One of the officials said that would include a minimum one-year ban on them traveling outside of Qatar as well as monitoring of their activities. “All five men received medical

BRUSSELS — The Army may still pursue an investigation that could lead to desertion or other charges against Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was freed from five years of Taliban captivity in a prisoner exchange last weekend, Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Tuesday. Dempsey also told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from his plane that Bergdahl´s next promotion to staff sergeant, which was set to happen soon, is no longer automatic because Bergdahl isn´t missing in action any longer. Speaking publicly for the first time about the case, Dempsey said he does not want to

As some question whether Sgt. "We don´t leave men and women in uniform behind," he said during a news conference in Warsaw, Poland, on Tuesday. Five Taliban prisoners in U.S. custody were transferred to Qatar, where, Obama said, he is confident that they would not endanger U.S. security because the Qataris will monitor them closely. Leaders of the U.S. intelligence community and military were opposed to freeing five senior Taliban commanders in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl when the White House first began exploring the prisoner swap in 2011 and 2012.The U.S. military wanted to bring Bergdahl home, but releasing Mullah Mohammad Fazl, Mullah Norullah Noori, Abdul Haq Wasiq, Khairullah Khairkhwa, and Mohammed Nabi Omari was seen as too dangerous at the time. James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, according to three U.S. intelligence officials, flat out rejected the release of the five detainees, saying there was too high a risk

Wary of hangers-on and sycophants, President Barack Obama has made few friends since moving into the White House. Alonzo Mourning, the former Miami Heat star, is a striking exception. He was one of many boldface Democratic donors willing to lend their names to Obama’s first presidential campaign and became a member of a small group of ex-NBA players summoned to play basketball with the president. Over the past few years, though, the president and player-turned-philanthropist developed a deeper bond that challenges the “no new friends” mantra the Obamas developed during the 2008 race. Labor unions criticized the Environmental Protection Agency’s new regulations on carbon emissions from power plants on Monday, highlighting growing tensions between the environmentalist and working class arms of the Democratic Party. Those tensions have come to the forefront as leading Democrats embrace environmentalist policies backed by billionaire political donors that are generally opposed by members of the party’s rank and file base. Some labor unions, groups generally considered loyally Democratic, rebelled on Monday after the EPA released its new regulations, which studies have suggested will carry hefty economic costs. But state officials said less than 3 percent of the state’s electricity comes from coal plants. According to an Associated Press report,

"Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him. Vierkant said Bergdahl needs to not only acknowledge his actions publicly

When Bob Bergdahl launched in Arabic, invoking Allah while standing next to President Obama in the White House Rose Garden, a number of Americans were startled. (snip) I am not knowledgeable enough to judge the claim of sanctifying the White House and claiming it for Islam, but I place a lot of stick in watching nonverbal cues, people’s quick reactions. And so, when our friends at iOwnTheWorld.com captured and enlarged President Obama’s reaction to Bergdahl’s invocation of Allah, it hit me hard. For five years, soldiers have been forced to stay silent about the disappearance and search for Bergdahl. Now we can talk about what really happened. It was June 30, 2009, and I was in the city of Sharana, the capitol of Paktika province in Afghanistan. As I stepped out of a decrepit office building into a perfect sunny day, a member of my team started talking into his radio. “Say that again,” he said. “There’s an American soldier missing?” There was. His name was Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl, the only prisoner of war in the Afghan theater of operations.

WASHINGTON -- Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl can expect a buoyant homecoming after five years in Taliban hands, but those in the government who worked for his release face mounting questions over the prisoner swap that won his freedom. Even in the first hours of Bergdahl´s handoff to U.S. special forces in eastern Afghanistan, it was clear this would not be an uncomplicated yellow-ribbon celebration. Five terrorist suspects also walked free, stirring a debate in Washington over whether the exchange will heighten the risk of other Americans being snatched as bargaining chips and whether the released detainees - several senior Taliban figures

The Obama administration on Monday unveiled the first-ever national limits on carbon emissions from existing power plants, a controversial regulation aimed at fulfilling a key plank of President Obama´s climate change agenda. The Environmental Protection Agency wants existing plants to cut pollution by 30 percent by 2030, under the plan. The draft regulation sidesteps Congress, where Obama´s Democratic allies have failed to pass a so-called "cap-and-trade" plan to limit such emissions. The EPA plan will go into effect in June 2016, following a one-year comment period. States will then be responsible for executing the rule with some flexibility. They are
